  1. Found this on Omaha Craigslist if anyone is interested. https://omaha.craigslist.org/ele/d/omaha-paul-klipsch-himself-sent-me/7669060716.html
  2. Yes, he lived about 4 houses away.
  3. If you are in Nebraska and need a set of Klipschorns I found Bob Gibson’s at an estate sale: $3450 in Bellevue. Look like excellent condition.
  4. There are a couple of 845 based class an amps touted on Amazon and eBay. They are 20-25 watts but should be sufficient to impart deafness on your neighbors. Good hunting.
  5. There’s a good deal of hubris associated with the “climatologists”. The term, I don’t know who coined it, refers to the religion of climate change devotion. Tenets being derived by scientists funded by grants to prove the validity of their claims without consideration of opposing views (who do not receive funding). Fifty years ago we were entering a “new ice age” or at least climate scientists claimed. I suspect (I am too lazy to research, but that doesn’t stop climatologists) that the amount of carbon dioxide released has dramatically decreased since that time. In eighth grade earth science we were taught weather and subsequently climate was the result of unequal solar heating of the earth. Ergo with the rotation of the earth slowing, the amount of unequal solar heating should increase with related changes to weather patterns.
  6. Fascinating to watch nature play out. I watched a pair of red tailed hawks ****** a squirrel out of a tree earlier this year, unfortunately I did not react fast enough to video it. One hawk harassed the squirrel and the other one grabbed it as it tried to hide.
  7. I’ve been storing a dozen donuts around my waist for the past 30 years.
  8. The Boss has no idea of the value of my stereo gear nor my fishing gear. But the I have no idea the value of her hobbies. It’s been good enough to last almost 49 years. Once I croak, I assume it will go in a garage sale or Goodwill. At that point I won’t care.
  9. SEX is rated for 1.5 watts, the SE is rated for 4 watts. I generally listen to folk, jazz and occasional rock from the late sixties to early seventies. I hope this helps.
  10. I am currently using a Bottlehead SEX amp in a small room, previously I used a Transcendent SE (the original version). I generally listen at moderate to low volume.

    Jokes?

The funding is going to be paid by future generations.

    Jokes?

MicroMara I believe the jab was against the military/industrial complex not the citizens of Ukraine.
  13. Sounds like spousal abuse.
  14. Only small parts of the movies but certainly hilarious: John Goldfarb Won’t You Please Come Home (very obscure maybe?) M*A*S*H
  15. FWIW I am slogging through “Fire and Ice” , the prequel, it reads like a history book rather than a novel. I got my copy from Amazon. Like the series on HBO, it’s disappointing compared to “Song of Fire and Ice” series, still waiting for the final book. Amazon has a boxed set of SOFI, they may have used copies.
  16. The first time I heard khorns they were driven by an Audio Research SP3 preamp. FWIW. You probably go full circle at some point, relax and enjoy the music.
  17. Don’t forget the Fugs their classic verse My baby went to the drive-in movie with someone else and I feel like homemade $hit
  18. An Airedale with remove the hiss.
  19. Blood and Fire by George R R Martin, the prequel to Song of Fire and Ice. Reads more like a history book or a Hollywood “treatment” than a novel. I’m sticking to it hoping it gets better.
  20. At least you have two providers to choose from, we have one. I have been after my service since May trying to get consistent service. Five different techs have been out wasting my time, changing every splitter and amplifier in my system, some were changed several times in the last year. One crew even changed the connectors on the cables to the TVs? I requested and received two refunds, so far. Maybe I should send my wife to law school.
  21. Regarding the causal vs coincidental issue, a friend’s husband died recently. He was 80 or more, had extremely low blood pressure (cause not revealed) and late stage dementia. His family had to protest the inclusion of Covid-19 as a cause of his death. This is probably more the case rather than the exception. I experienced a similar issue with my father’s death certificate, smoking was listed as causal and I never saw or heard of him smoking in the 50 years prior to his death. Makes one wonder, eh?
  22. There are a pair of Cornwalls on CL in Lincoln if you have room for them. Bob Bellevue
  23. A compromise solution would be to distribute electoral votes by house district winners and award the senate votes to the overall winner of the state. It works in Nebraska and Maine. If I recall correctly, Mitt Romney would have won in 2012 with this method. Well maybe that would..... FWIW
  24. Paul i would be more concerned about heat dissipation rather than weight of the units stacked on the receiver. Bob
