  1. I have a pair of Klipschorns for sale (the guy who I bought them from used to work at Klipsch, so one is actually a clone built using the same horns). They sound awesome, since I restored them with Crites crossovers. However, cosmetically these speakers would have a tough time passing the Partner Approval Factor. I no longer live in the US, and am only in the Bay Area for two weeks, but unfortunately have to sell them as my parents are selling their house and we no longer have anywhere to put these. I'm looking for $800 OBO, would really like to find a nice home for them, and hopefully an adventurous soul will restore these cosmetically. Pictures of the speakers are located here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JXXlWNdByIwsPGAlsU5o7AsMAN3GfrhX?usp=sharing
  2. I'm working on restoring a 1956 Klipschorn Decorator that had a K-5-J horn. I found this older thread where someone converted a 1967 decorator: Is there anyone who'd be able to confirm that these dimensions are correct? The people in that thread haven't been on the website in years apparently.
  3. Thanks for the tips. Feel like dust isnt the only problem tho. Like based on the pics I posted there are a lot of random stains that I'd like to get rid of, but not sure how to since I don't want to mess things up with the wrong chemicals.
  4. Gotcha. Maybe it should be moved to the Technical/Modifications section instead?
  5. How do I delete this thread? Decided I'm just gonna dive in and try to slowly restore them myself. It'll be a good way to get familiar with the speakers.
  6. Newbie here. I just got a 1956 Klipschorn and the speakers are pretty dusty. I was just wondering what the best way to clean the horns are? Any particular cleaning fluid I should use? Pics of the mid range horn are here: https://imgur.com/a/XvOSI
  7. Edited out the negotiation part you guys are right. Meant it more like FYI if someone else wanted them I could tell Jerry to stay put and connect that person to him. Thought that'd be okay but having read your comments I can see how that scenario would also be reneging on an agreement.
  8. Hey all, a newbie here who might have bitten off more than he can chew. I’ve been in contact with a retired electrical engineer who is selling a 1956 Klipschorn and a Klipschorn clone that he built himself using the same components. Both have been in his garage for who knows how long. I’ve currently taken the mid range horns home (his garage was too cluttered to get the bass bins out). He’s dropping the bass bins at my place on Saturday. Is anyone interested in restoring these? I don’t think I have the know how to restore these. So far I deposited $500 and the understanding is I’m buying them for $1000. Will upload pics in a bit. I live in downtown LA and Ye seller is in San Diego area. Alternatively if someone knows of someone in the SoCal area with restoration experience who can offer help that'd be great. as a start, pictures of the 1956 mid range horn here: https://imgur.com/a/XvOSI
