Crown was always an overengineering kind of outfit in all regards. Dave ---------------- Have I missed something? Considering the company of the tube people here...... I owned Crown all the way back to tape. I dumped Crown due to the cold, harsh SS sound. Crown engineering? Big, powerful.... but Snappy, Harsh, Cold...unstable at full power. Very unlike the Mac & Lux SS. anyone? tc

This question always surfaces for me when I listen very late at night. The system has that little extra in the wee hours of the AM. I do n't even have a word to discribe it. It just delivers greater pleasure when listening at that early time. The item pictured (Jhon Risch power filter) is a kit from DIY Cable. I can't say it changed much but was fun to build. It entered my system a year ago in an attemp to duplicate that little extra, no word to describe it, performance that the early hours delivers. Leok, I may have credited you for the caulk rope intervention a thread ago. I try to read everything you write and like Eric, it holds great significance. It was Lynn who's humoresque writing identified the correct surface of the horn to caulk. Thanks you and Leok look like brothers. Rob does have a spl meter. Neither of us thought of including it for our audition. We'er so amateurish. Reg ---------------- Reg, A/C line? Some thirty years ago, I was informed that " Klipsch speakers only come out at night". tc

  4. Was my comment a bit harsh...or simply correct? tc
  5. Had some bastard Mod-H...12" JBL Woofs & 1000cps EV horns. Sold them for $250.00 and ordered Decorator CWs for $380.00(?) Two years later sold CWs and ordered OW CWs. Twenty years later bought back the decorators. Wish I could find the old Bastard Heresy. tc
  6. Sir, Not a class act. The most disgusting notion that I have ever seen. tc PS: Could you private email samples of your collection? Have you ever seen a "Drunk Monkey Knife Fight"?

Steve P's wife's name was Beckey. I forgot Rodger's wife's name. It was really fun hangin out with you guys in Indy. I'll be back next year if we do this again. I wish we would have had more time to meet the others who were down for the day on Saturday. Most of them came for the tour and left. Next time you guys have to come over for Friday night and Sat night too. As for the Jubilee, we did talk about it a bit. Word is, There is a very real chance that it will not go into production. JM ---------------- For some reason, I had always thought that the "new Klipsch b oys" would cannibalize the Jubilee ($) for the pro theater sales. Maybe I am too sentimental, but I considered the design to be Pauls dieing gift to the world. If you are not going to produce it, email the auto CAD design specs to us. We will build it ourselves. tc
  8. Big, The guys that have responded are more "expert" than I will ever be. I have listened to Khorns, LAs, Mod-H,and CWs since 1970.(not at the same time ha) Give it a shot. I don't know how the Dynas will sound. I BTL two Luxman M-117s at 440wpc. The bottom end support is incredible into the four CWs.Flawless mids and highs and a Tube warmth that many SS amps don't have. I switched over two Crown DC300s years ago and they were nasty. Very cold, snappy, and harsh. JMHO considering the company. tc
  9. Wonderful piece. I may have missed a post or two..but What about the Jubilee? Any mention? Does the wood horn 2-way really exist? If so where? Thanks, tc
  10. Jim, My wife Lynn and I are aggressively praying about your situation. Let us know if there is anything that we can do from AR. Anything. Terry

She isn't very modest, either. My brother came home for lunch the other day and parked the car in our driveway while she was walking towards their backyard to the pool. As he stepped out of his car, she turned around and waved at him and said hello...without her bikini top on! The gals were just hanging there as she waved to him...needless to say, he forgot all about eating. ---------------- Jim, Is there a vacancy in your neighborhood? tc

  14. I agree with Artto. Go with the oldest Marantz SS that you can find or afford. I still have (retired)the Mod-15s and Mod-14 that I got from PWK in '68 or '69. Wish I still had the 7-T preamp...Just ask Tony tc
