  1. @ACV92 The seller says 4 12” speakers. What he means is 4 Heresy for $300. You should be in the car already. <-------If only this were true, unfortunately it isn’t. I've just now looked at this on the big screen. Stupid tiny iPad. They appear to be KG4s with three of the four having had the risers removed. $250 a pair restored, more like $100 pair in mediocre shape, if that much. Dang, I thought you had hit the jackpot. Sorry. That fourth speaker seems bigger than a KG4. Odd. Ask the seller to take pictures of “the place where the wires attach” on all four.. That would tell us what they are.
  2. I've always found that if you have to ask the questions "Why do they...?", "Why did they...?", etc. the answer, almost always, is money. They don't want Klipsch stacking up anywhere close to the performance of "The Big Boys" that this magazine relies on for capital. How much does Klipsch spend in advertising with this rag? Especially when compared to the select higher end equipment manufacturers? This 'writer' knows on which side his bread is buttered, and he intentionally makes the Klipschorn performance numbers look bad by his laughable testing techniques. It's not only cynicism on my part, I fear. We tested this on a street corner in Hoboken, and here are the meticulously acquired results...

That Grand Seiko GMT is just delicious. Thanks for sharing!

  6. $5.50 for 35 footers? Double shield braiding, oxygen free copper, and gold plated? This seems like a no-brainer. @carlthess40 also made me a pair of 18 footers that are fantastic.
  7. Please try the picture hosting method in my signature below. You can save as many pics, and however big you like.
  8. You actually made me chuckle out loud there...
  9. Those are deep scratches. You would have to sand down a LOT to get those out. You can sand them smooth, and fill with an appropriate wood putty. I would first try to raise the grain with the 'Water drops and smokin' hot iron' method to expand the wood within the scratches. The best system to get those fixed is made by Mohawk. That's the stuff I used when repairing new furniture. I will dig around and see if I can find someone around St. Pete that still uses their products.
  10. It looks like those stands retail between $70 and $150 each. You could probably get a hundred for the pair, making the speakers only $100 total. http://www.ultimatesupport.com/products/speaker-lighting-stands.html
  11. I don't think it would take a lot of effort to strip these back to raw birch. Veneer from there, stain the birch, or just leave them raw. I think they would look really cool with a good wood finish, and retain the corner protectors.
  12. Plus the fact that Heresy 2's were made with MDF, but the Pro versions here are made of Birch ply, if I'm not mistaken. I wish I could go pick them up, but WAF would become the Wife Aggro Factor.
  13. Per the Klipsch website: The KP-201 was first introduced in 2000 and manufactured by Klipsch until 2004. While no longer in production the KP-201s are still owned and listened to by Klipsch fans around the world. 14. I like the fact that these are the original Cornwall II's.
  15. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/684187282042867/ Klipsch KP-201 speakers with stands www.facebook.com Basically they are 'Heresy 2' in Klipsch Professional livery, more sturdily built and better electronics, for less than half of the used market price on their veneered cousins.
  16. Those are fantastic looking. Someone will be getting a good deal, methinks.
  17. A friend gifted me with them, after he bought 4 identical speakers at a local Goodwill for $40. So it's only fair that I pass on the "good deal", and not try to profiteer.
  18. Sure, if Emile's friend passes on them and you want them.
  19. Emile, I have a pair of KSF 8.5's that I would donate to the cause. They would be okay for back L-R in a surround setup. @Emile

  21. Thanks, sir! It’s great to get the answer directly from the source...
  22. It sure did, BabaDono. Thanks again, Carl. (He's one hell of a nice guy!) The custom made 18' shielded RCA cables came in today. I've swapped them in, and they sound fantastic. No more hums when the system is idling! Even with the volume turned to 11!
