  1. I dropped in here to give the same advice. Leaving satisfied.
  2. Good lord, were you on stage with Ann and Nancy???
  3. I really don't think it is worth 2+ hours in the car, and then $30 on top of that. Nice thought, though. If I am going to get another sub it will be a definite upgrade, and the SW8 II will be relegated to the master bedroom system. I'm looking for something in the 12" to 15" range. I might just buy a 15" subwoofer driver, and put it in the second KP-1000 cab. I have plenty of these organ amplifiers, so I will set it up with a dedicated amp, which is pushing a true 100w RMS.
  4. Nice job! The seller is asking $50 for it, so I think I shall pass. I already have an 8" sub that works well.
  5. Caught these incredible ladies on NPR. Harmonies tighter than any other group I've heard. Just fantastic. "I'm with Her". https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK0WrqKJLKw_SR_bczYXZSQ
  6. They are SOLID little amps! The KP-3002's really like the power, so I will be putting a dedicated amp on each one in the near future. To test them, I used a 3.5mm to dual RCA cable to use an iPhone as a pre-amp. They worked perfectly this way, so I knew I could use the Onkyo surround pre-outs to feed these amps.
  7. A while back, I picked up a pair of empty KP-1000 boxes from @carlthess40, along with 5 100w RMS organ amps to play around with. At first, I looked for original crossovers without success. I then made the decision to make these into a two way, and picked out a reasonably inexpensive 15" woofer to put back in the boxes. Since I was really happy with the Eminence woofers that I put into the Super Heresy build, I went the same way here: https://www.parts-express.com/eminence-delta-15a-15-driver-8-ohm--290-418 I found a pair of KG 5.5 crossovers for $35 on eBay that crossed near the frequency that I wanted. They work really well with the Eminence woofer and the k-57-k on a 601 horn. Thanks to @jimjimbo for the drivers and horns at such a low price! I thought about the amps for a while, and realized that they were built to amplify the full range of the organs they were put into, so they should work just fine for the bass - mid bass - squawker region. I put some favorite music on, and moved the gain just enough to match the rest of the system (KP-3002 front left and right, Super Heresy on surround L-R). As far as tweeters go, I don't worry about 10khz and up due to my tinnitus. So this two-way is just right for me. I think I will pole mount the horn once I can find some of three screw cups that came on these originally. I know this is a weird setup, but it's been a lot of fun to play around with. Now I just need to find something suitable for the center channel.
  8. And if you do know, what would be a good used price on it? Thank you in advance!
  9. Heresies normally go here from $300 to $450ish (for a perfect set) on Version 1's. Heresy V2's aren't that much more. I recently picked up a pair of 1977 Heresy 1, 'E' export models with laser tags in perfect shape for $380, just to give you an example. I seriously doubt that you will get anywhere near your purchase price on this site. It sounds like the only option is for you to put them back on eBay. I hope you kept the boxes that were used to ship them. People here won't want to insult you by offering what is a realistic price in this neighborhood.
  10. Not mine, obviously! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Meyer-Sound-SB-3F-Long-Throw-Loudspeaker-System-4600W-RMS-Excellent-Shape/123601450061?hash=item1cc738744d:g:RPIAAOSws~dcQjih
  11. ...”T” stand for in KPT? I’ve got the Klipsch Professional part, but no idea on the T. *<;o)
  12. You would probably get your asking price on eBay. A lot people here have already done a Super Heresy project or two, and have spares of these woofers laying around. I know I have two of them under the workbench. That includes @jimjimbo below, who responded at the same time I did.
  13. Looks like 15" woofers, possibly. Great price for someone local. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Carvin-Speaker-083806/323838839257?hash=item4b664c89d9:g:GD0AAOSwU2tc8AJT https://www.ebay.com/itm/Carvin-Speaker-083878/323838839251?hash=item4b664c89d3:g:VqAAAOSwFdNc8AI9
  14. Lately I have changed to a different browser tab to google something I just read, and forget what is was before google finishes loading.
  15. Take a peek at Bryston amps. I was impressed. They have a 20 year, no questions asked warranty. http://bryston.com/products/power_amps/6BSST-2-PRO.html @veloceleste both of yours are great choices...
  16. Here’s one of mine: The Celtic Martini. Jameson’s with a good splash of sweet vermouth, shaken with ice, and served up. The smoothest whiskey cocktail...
  17. @Emile I found your amp! This will give you some headroom. If you buy two, you can have 2200 watts into 8 ohms RMS / continuous output on both channels... Meet the Electro Voice CP3000S: (The one on eBay is at $499 and $40 shipping) https://www.ebay.com/itm/Electrovoice-CP3000S/223528763095?hash=item340b5a3ed7:g:hUYAAOSwtyRc6Dtr Electro-Voice's Precision Series Compact amplifiers offer proven Precision Series performance and reliability in a compact, lightweight format. This is made possible by incorporating a highly efficient Class-H design, which results in considerably less heat being generated. This allows the overall size of the amplifier to be reduced substantially without sacrificing performance or reliability. The CP3000S is not only the first Precision Series amplifier to use a switch-mode power supply, but also the first switch-mode amplifier with EV's Precision Series sound. With up to 2 x 1600 watts into 2 ohms and 2 x 1100 watts into 4 ohms, it is both powerful and lightweight, at only 17.96 lbs (8.15 kg). The CP3000S is state-of-the-art for all kinds of applications. It is specifically designed to allow for long-term driving of low loads into subwoofers without stress. The CP3000S's reliability and its pleasing, rich sound make it the first choice for all mid- and hi-range speaker cabinets. 18. @Emile If his work is like mine, you get pulled in many different directions constantly, all day, every day. Occasionally, things fall into the cracks. It’s just a fact of life. I try to cut people some slack!
  19. Didn’t Roy / @Chief bonehead design these? If so, he knocked this one out of the park! Thank you, Sir. I’m a fan of your work.
  20. I think he means the used market, where you get near Klipschorn performance for 1/5th the price. Simultaneous post, Schu!
  21. Yes. Yes they are. I’m ecstatic over mine!
