MeloManiac gets it. He just doesn't want to. This site is for a retail company. Klipsch pays for the server space and bandwidth. It MUST comply with all of the laws of the 50 states as well as the federal government. And France, England, etc. etc. etc., everywhere they do business. At any time they can take their bat and ball and go home. Drop this site like a hot potato. Other companies have, simply because compliance has been painful. In the past I've been a moderator on a popular site like this, and even the mod job is (mostly) painful and thankless. The mods and administrator of this site must follow company rules, and if that is distasteful to you maybe another site will fit your sensibilities... Reddit or 4Chan, maybe?

Congratulations on the CornScala, @TubesGlo!! They're a very good aperitif, setting you up for the meal later once you find some Cornwalls or La Scala at a reasonable price to A/B. I've not heard a pair of CornScala in person, but from what I've read they are positioned around the La Scala level in the pyramid. They will fill your room with wonderful sound. Klipschorns would be problematic in your room due to the corner placement, which would involve a total redesign of your custom woodwork. I think you made the right choice given the situation with your "gotta have it now" affliction, from which I also suffer. One other piece of advice: Don't ignore the Klipsch Professional line of products. You can find the Pro La Scala, Heresy, or Cornwall versions occasionally. I latched onto a pair of KP-3002's that are the trapezoidal shaped, "rat fur" covered Pros. I absolutely love them and utilize them in a near-field listening layout as my desktop speakers (in a 7.1 surround setup with Heresy mids, KPT-1000's as the rears, and KP-100's as the centers). I think that the Pro models would look very appropriate in your room with a drum kit on a riser. The KP-3002's sound incredible and do not need any help in the bass department. You can find them at very reasonable prices (think less than $1k). They sound just as sweet at low power levels as they do at 120db. Or more. Yes, I know I'm a little bit crazy using them less than 3 feet from my head: (for size reference, my monitor is a 55" 4k Sony TV...)

Please don't trash the wood. I myself am willing to take on a wood project, since my parents have had an antique shop for the last 35 years. I've been doing most of their restoration work during that time.

In my humble opinion and according to my half century plus of buying and selling, I offer this: An auction starting at 1¢ will give you the actual value on your speakers! They are worth what someone will pay at that time and place, and nothing more. BUT: If you start your auction at 1¢ with no reserve, people will start competing with each other for your item. It becomes a battle and people are invested in the outcome. They will most likely not go for any less than $1,400, and if the bidding gets "heated", they could go for more than that (but this is unlikely due to perceived condition issues). As things currently stand, people will not get into a bidding war when you start at a price they would not be willing to pay for these speakers. I've seen dozens of speakers be on Craigslist constantly, for a year or more with no buyers sniffing around. I've watched this guy in my town try to sell a KV3 center speaker for over a year (he must have thought he struck it rich!). He started at $200 (somewhere near there), and has dropped the price periodically ever since. He's down to $50 and still is not getting any takers. Klipsch KV3 Center Channel Speaker - electronics - by owner - sale (craigslist.org) I have alerts set up for Klipsch on this same local Craigslist (Ocala), and I get an email almost daily alerting on this speaker. People get used to seeing and ignoring that ad over time. I know I have. I also watched a pair of black La Scala in Ocala take a couple of years to sell on OfferUp. This guy was asking $800 for the pair, and they were not too much worse that yours other than a couple of big dings. They finally did sell about 3 months ago. Your pictures make the speakers look beat up and very dirty. If you do nothing more than giving them a good scrubbing with the above mentioned products (even a quick rubdown with Old English Dark will clean them up and darken the areas where there are chips in the veneer!), they will look somewhat glossy again and the overall impression of being so dirty will evaporate somewhat. They're not in a condition where I could drop them straight into my living room. The wife aggro alone would not allow me to use them straight away (known as WAF around here, the Wife Acceptance Factor). A lot of buyers will be feeling the same. This puts your speakers into the "restoration project" category, and La Scala projects do not sell for 2 grand. You can take my advice or totally dismiss me, but these facts will still remain an issue that will limit your sale. Once you get them to be extremely appealing in your pictures, you might have a chance to sell them for your desired price of $2K. Good luck.

And when they pass on, we win! If you want a cheaper place to live with no local or state income tax, Florida is a good choice for those reasons.

People retire, selling off a bunch of their belongings except for the most important to them, and then move to Florida. Klipsch speakers are things you would want to keep through that process, so Florida has a slightly higher percentage of ownership that the rest of the country. At least this is my guess!

The horns and drivers are worth probably double to triple that on the parts market.

Those are the initials of either the sander or woodworker that built the pair. @HDBRbuilder might know to whom those belong.

Welcome to the forum! Here's your info: These are La Scala's made in a raw Birch finish in 1983. 32Y432. The Y tells you the year of manufacture. The BR code means they shipped with no color nor finish applied to the veneer. They might be a tough sell at a premium price, due to the front panels not matching. To make them match would be a project where you would have to tear them down, strip, re-color, and refinish the cabinets to match each other. As they sit, and if all drivers are working correctly, you might get $1,500 or somewhere in that ballpark based on recent sales that I myself have seen. The value also depends on your location. If you are in Germany, I would say that they would go for more. They will sell for more if you are in San Francisco, LA, New York, or Miami. If you are 100 miles from civilization, they will probably not go as high... If your user name is accurate, and you live in Ocala, FL they will probably sell for $1,300 to $1,400. Most retirees sell off a huge percentage of their stuff before moving down here. Klipsch speakers seem to be the exception, they tend to keep those for life. Once they pass on, the kids / grandkids sell them off...
