  1. But I must say I like my Forte III's better than my Heresy III's.
  2. I believe in science. The problem with measurement results for speakers is that they are so complex and difficult to measure. There is a good YT video of a lecture by the guy who did (does?) the technical measurements for Stereophile. It is interesting to hear him talk about how the measurements are so difficult to interpret ---- and how they do not always correspond to the sound of the speakers. I do wish that we had tests of Klipsch speakers by him, along with his comments. It would be interesting.
  3. I have three pairs of Heresy III' and two pairs of Forte III's. H3's are terrific speakers. They are very dynamic and alive. I really like the efficiency. I have two pairs on stands about 10" high and one pair on the original stands. I do like the mid range horn of the Forte III's a little better but it is a subtle difference.
  4. I received my second pair of Forte III's this week. My first pair are walnut and the second pair are cherry. Both are beautiful. The cherry color is not as light as I expected. It is the same color as one of the 3 pairs of Heresy III's that I have. One pair of the H3's is light cherry (same as the F3's) and one is a medium cherry. (The third pair are lacewood, which is a dark cherry color). Unlike earlier generation Klipsch speakers which has an oil finish, these new Forte III's have a hard satin finish. It is very nice. It is unlike any other finish I have encountered on furniture. It seems like it is a sprayed clearcoat but seems to be a lighter viscosity - because the texture of the spray is much finer than the typical poly furniture sprayed finish. This is a good thing. The satin finish is quite nice - I am not a fan of glossy finishes. As usual, the wood itself on the Forte III's is very nice and the craftsmanship is excellent. The edges are very precisely done. Klipsch obviously has this down and really pay attention. There is absolutely no splintering of the edges, even when examined very closely. This requires an excellent technique and a very sharp-fine saw blade. I am quite pleased with the speakers ------ and of course the sound is superb. I purchased this new pair from Cory the Man ----- such an excellent transaction, excellent communications, and fast shipping. I like that they were drop shipped directly from Hope, on a pallet - so no chance of UPS or Fed Ex dropsie bashing.
  5. I have three pairs of Heresy III's. One is on the original low risers. Two pair are on stands about one foot high. They all sound very good. The bass of the ones on the stands is the same as the pair on the low risers.
  6. I have three pairs of Heresy III's - in Lacewood, Light Cherry and Dark Cherry. I just ordered a pair of Forte III's in Cherry from Cory the Man. I like unstained Cherry because it show the grain nicely. There are lots of different opinions. Good to have the choices from Klipsch.
  7. I agree about buying new ----- There are some nice ones. I have four Project and like them a lot.
  8. What are the chances that Klipsch will release a Chorus IV with the Forte midrange horn?
  9. I have three pairs of Heresy III's. I find they to be rather unfussy about placement. In one system I put them on 8" high stands and they are about 8" from the rear wall. In the other two applications they are on the standard stands, and also about 8" from the rear wall. Really no big difference in sound.
  10. I have three pairs of Heresy III's. They are terrific speakers. On most material the lack of deep bass is not an issue since relatively few sources have any significant sound recorded below 60 hz. The build quality is excellent. Beautiful cabinets - Klipsch is very consistent in that regard. I have a pair of Forte III's also. The sound of the Forte III's and Heresy III's is very similar. The new midrange horn on the Forte III is very impressive but does leave the H3 horn in the dust. Each can stand on its own.
  11. Thank you very much for the information ---- actually CW's are not so very much more expensive than the Forte III's. I appreciate you assistance/
  12. I have a pair of Forte III's, three pair of Heresy III's and some other brand speakers. I am going to purchase either another pair of Forte III's or a pair of Cornwall III's. I am unable to audition the Cornwalls and have never heard them. I really like my Forete III's. The room they will go in is 18 x 20. I know that the Forte III's will work but I am seriously considering the Cornwall III's instead. My concern with the Cornwalls is whether their technology is as advanced as the Forte III's. I really like the mid horn in the Forte III's. It seems that the mid horn in the Cornwall III's is a generation behind. Also, I have a concern whether the 15" woofer in the Cornwall III's will provide clear definition compared to the 12" in Forte III's. I would appreciate your input. Thanks Tom
