  1. I will sit about 11’back from thE front of the speakers. The width of the room is 14’ wide and the back wall is about 10’ behind where I sit.I did ask for a crossover picture and it is the AA crossover
  2. 30” on the door side, that does close, and the window side is about 40” from corner.
  3. My apologies, that was a typo, I meant Cira. 1983 for the speakers, at least that was what I was told as to when they were made.
  4. The seller has not said anything to me about them being modified. All I know is what I see in pics and he sent me a pic of the rear tag, he said they are from approx 1983.
  5. Well, the 6200 is part of the trade if I go through with it. Is the 2505 with the McIntosh mx113 a huge downgrade from the 6200?
  6. Yea, my only issue with my 6200, is a slightly damaged glass and there is some damage to one of my RCA connection in the rear for tape out, so I would need to do some repairs to it to connect my reel to reel.
  7. What would you say is the most noticeable difference? I listen mainly to Jazz and vocals, really would like to have something that sounds as real as possible.
  8. Thanks for responding. I can close that door, this room used to be our “TV” movie watching room, so the windows actually already have blackout drapes on it that are pretty heavy. I have less than 3k in the used equipment, I just want to know how much better would those Klipschorn be as compared to my forte II, I have just tried out so many different sets of speakers, and am anxious to find an endgame type of speaker.
  9. Hello all, current owner of a pair of Klipsch Forte II with a McIntosh 2505 and second setup of MA6200 and Kef LS50. I need to downsize according to the wife to only one setup in my front room and I have the chance to trade away my MA6200, Klipsch Forte II as well as KEF LS50 to get a pair of 1983 Ciara Klipschorn speakers. I think my room might work considering it pretty big, about 16’ X 24’ and I have always dreamed of owning a pair of Klipschorn, as I really like my Forte, I have just ever heard them, do y’all think this is a trade worth considering. I would be left with a Mcintosg MX113, McIntosh 2505 running the Klipschorn. Below is a shot of my space, any thoughts as to the differences I would notice and just how much of an upgrade this would be are appreciated. also, I am a little concerned about the fact that I have a window on the right wall after the corner, and an open door, the can be closed, on the other wall with the corner, would that ruin the sound and really not an ideal room?
  10. Excellent idea, I did not think of that, thank you. james
  11. Ok, I will check screws on the drivers to insure they are secure, and then also only connect one speaker at a time to check. Could I use something like a frequency sweep video on YouTube to uncover an error? The reason I say this is I want to eliminate the possibly of a bad Norah Jones recording. James
  12. Ok, so it sounds like everyone is pretty much stating that the crossovers are the issue. Is that correct? I unfortunately do not have the funds to purchase the complete crossover built on a slab of wood. I am opting for the Crossover rebuild kit from Crites. I have a local friend that can assist with rebuilding it for me. I was also considering doing the bracing suggestions on the cabinet as well as the sound deafening of the horns, I assume this would be a good thing to do, or does it not make too much of a difference? I have seen mixed reviews on these 2 steps. James
  13. Also, I switched to my McIntosh MA6200, with similar issues, so it is not an amplifier issue. Thanks again everyone. james
  14. I have a pair of Klipsch Forte 1 and I recently had a Single ended amp built just for it, well when auditioning the amp, I noticed a sharp buzz type sound at times. For instance on Norah Jones, don’t know why song, the lyrics start as “I waited till....” well the sharp “Waited” word has a slight buzz at the very beginning. I have also noticed Take Five by Dave Brubeck, the horns are a bit harsh them I remember this speaker being in the past. I am planning on doing the crates crossover upgrade, is this possibly the caps failing, or maybe the tweeter diaphragms need replacing? Any thoughts on this? james
  15. I was looking for advice to possibly use a Klipsch KG 2.2V as my "Center" in a stereo setup. My goal is to be able to get an improved Vocal Center sound from my Forte I current setup. I have a Pioneer sx950 running 2 Klipsch Forte I and using a Pioneer Pl530 Turntable and Opera Consonance Isolde Turntable for the source. I truly enjoy the sound, but I was wondering if I could add the Klipsch KG 2.2V as a center channel to possibly make for a more obvious center placement for vocals. My room is Hardwood Floored and about 25' long by 17" wide. How would one connect the Klipsch KG 2.2V to my pioneer sx950 to achieve what I am hoping to get? Thanks so much! James
