  1. This is a working pair of KP-302's with original drivers and crossover networks. I purchased these from a sound and lighting company which used them for many years for sound reinforcement. The cabinets have the typical small scratches, chips, etc. you'd expect to see on professional sound equipment. I was going to use these as the rear channel in a home theater set-up but decided to go a different direction. These are priced, below market for a quick sale. Pickup only, I don't want to ship them.   2. The Tungstenaudio mods look very interesting, thanks! I appreciate your offer to build a custom power supply. I would be interested in a "plug & play" solution that does not require rewiring the ACA to run dual power inputs, and provides meaningful improvements in sound quality. However, if your experience shows that only marginal improvements are possible without dual power inputs I'll stay with the stock Meanwell switching power supplies.

Parts Express has a 160VA, 22V toroidal transformer that is 4" D x 1.7" H and should provide sufficient amperage.   4. I am interested in two of these in 24V mode for a pair of ACAs running as monoblocks. Can you tell me the maximum amperage these power supplies can put out at 24V? Thanks in advance. All the best, Jim
  5. I'm not sure this question was definitively answered for the Chorus I, so here's what I know. The 7uF (100V)cap on the original crossover is a bipolar electrolytic. Here's a picture of the crossover from my Chorus I's. The small blue cap in the lower left corner is the 7uF electrolytic. Jim
  6. I installed 4" inch inner diameter x 4-3/8 long port tubes from Parts Express in my Chorus I speakers (https://www.parts-express.com/speaker-cabinet-port-tube-4-id-x-4-3-8-l--260-411). The outer diameter of the port tube is slightly smaller than the port opening in the motor board. I put a few wraps of electrical tape around the end of the port tube that makes contact with the port opening and then pressure fit it into the motor board with some (gentle) assistance from a rubber mallet. I have not measured the difference in frequency response but my subjective impressions are that the bass goes approximately 3-5 Hz lower and the midrange is less forward / "in your face" with the port tubes (which is a good thing in my listening room). I did not use a longer port as it would interfere with the Crites crossovers I have installed in the base of the speaker. Jim
