  2. I did that and no scratching. I also verified resistance and am at around 8 ohms. I have also sprayed glue in the box in case it was something loose causing the noise.
  3. My subwoofer (model R-115SW) makes a knocking sound even at low level volume. Issue is resolved when I apply a light pressure on rubber surrounding cone. Please help, I have no idea what to do nor do I know what is going on.
  4. Was wondering if anyone can help regarding room acoustics? I have an idea (based on web research) but would like to know if I am heading in the right direction.
  5. My bad, you are right r-115sw.

  8. 9 speakers and 2 subs, I noticed in all stereo the sound to be much nicer. Feels like the harsh highs get tamed, am I crazy or is that possible?
  9. Any comments??? I prefer all channel stereo.
  10. Ok, so I bought 2 emotiva XPA-100’s (monoblocks) for the RF7II’s / XPA-3 for center (RC-52) and wide (RF82’s) already had Emotiva A300 for surround (RF82’s) and another Emotiva A300 for surround back (RS42) and I must say holy .... I love Klipsch. This combo of speakers is loud and I mean super loud without distortion.
  11. good to know I will replace the 2 emotiva a300 with 2 mono blocks emotiva xpa-100s as well I am adding and xpa-3 for Center and wide. The 2 A300s will power surround back and surrround.
  12. Sorry couldn't reply had to go on an emergency call, my job requires 24hr service periodically. Going to sleep now and will chat tomorrow if you are up to it. Thanks a lot guys your inputs really help. Much appreciated.
  13. Garyrc, lol you are right about the amp / pre amp my bad. My next plan is room acoustics, I will soon be on vacation and that's what I'll be working on. My room is approx. 20 x 20 and I literally have nothing on the floor or walls. Do you recommend panels as well? I will look into the audyssey. On the quality side do you think the XPA ( emotiva again )series is better suited for these speakers. I can get an XPA-1 monoblock for a good price, I read on one of the threads that the rf7 are power hungry. This amp can produce 1000w at 4ohms so I would bridge the pair to get the 4ohm load. Do you recommend that?
  14. Thanks, in your sig line you mention la Scala's. Do you have them? My brother has a pair and wow they are loud and clean. He puts them by the window on Halloween for some scary music and they can be heard pretty far.
  15. Volume is decent, bass (considering they are 10" woofers) not so great. I find the highs, not sure how to describe but the s is more like sh if that makes any sense. I also have 4 rf82 towers and it seems they are as loud as the rf7s. The rf82 have more bass and lol the s is more defined. This is why I'm asking about amplification as per the spec rf7 should be much louder and cleaner but I'm not seeing this.
  16. I forgot to mention, my receiver is a Marantz SR7008 and the A300 I’m using as pre-amp
  17. New to the forum, just got a used pair of rf7iis and hooked them up to an emotiva A300. Not so impressed, any recommendations that will do them justice? Please keep in mind I’m not rich.
