  1. Hey Marvel how ya been? Good to hear from you! Has life been good to you? Crunch... Hmmm.... I'm thinking crunch as in the sound of bands like RATT, Dokken, however, I also love the sound of Steve Clarks ( The late great Steve ) of Def Leppard. There is something about the tone of his guitar that sounds soo good to me. That overall good brown sound. Eddy had it in his early years, but lost it somewhere along the way. In my opinion durring Diver Down. Not saying he wasnt good after Diver Down, just that the sound of his guitar changed. When you say style... What do you mean? Are you talking what style of music? If so, I'd have to say 80's rock... Def Leppard, Dokken, Ratt, Rush, Van Halen. IF I had the tallent, and was playin with a bunch of guys, the sound I would strive for is a cross between Dokken, Def Leppard, Ratt, Rush, maybe throw in some Poisen.
  2. Hey, I know there are some on here. Wanna chat with you all about them. I'm interested in learning to play the electric guitar and looking for some adivice on my first guitar. (Well third actually, first was an Ibanez bass from years ago, sold it. The second is an OLD hollow body that was left to me by my grandfather some 25 years ago) I'm wanting a solid body, something that is going to produce a good rock sound (read as good crunch). I don't want to invest a bunch of money at first. I'm thinking a decent starter guitar that I can over time upgrade. You know, pickups, bridge and what not. WHen i say starter guitar, I'm thinking somethin in the $300 ~ $400 range. Help / suggestions welcome!
  3. Ok, some of you middle aged folks (like me) might recall a song that came out oh..... Back in the 60's or 70's. I think that (and I hate to admit that I know this) The Muppets used to cover that song as well. Thanks! Rick
  4. I second that! I had to stop visiting that place so much, it got too heated durring political seasons. But then again... I've kinda stopped coming here anyway. Just life stuff ya-know? Still have all my klipsch toys though. []

    Call of Duty 4

That was a KILLER game. I've already finished the single player campaign. [:'(]. I'm crying because I wish there was more! I put in Rainbow 6 Las Vegas after playing COD4.... I was blown away at how lack luster the graphics looked in Vegas compared to COD4. No comparison. COD4 was in a league all by itself.
  8. Only played the XBOX 360 demo of the game. But from what I've seen so far, this is an excellent game. Right along the lines of GRAW 1 and 2 and Rainbow Six LasVegas. I've not played COD4 so I can't tell you how it stacks up against that game.

    Call of Duty 4

How does it compare to Ghost Recon 1 and 2? What about Rainbow 6 Las Vegas? Is it as good? Better? I'm trying to figure out my next XBOX360 game, it's either COD4, Halo 3, or Mass Effect
  10. Metallica? Not sure wher you live, but metallica is WAY overplayed. However, Y&T, Cinderella are good. Never got into Krokus never heard of Belfgore or MadamX. Dokken? One of my all time favs. Gottem on the iPod Also have some Flock of Seagulls somewhere.
  11. Cool shirt, can you make a Long Sleaved T-Shirt of it? I'd by that? Won't wear the biker shorts. To modest to reveal my junk, or lack there of. []

  13. Ok, I admit... I'm a fan of the 80s era of rock and roll. Never grew up I suppose because I'm still stuck in the 80s'. I'd like to start a thread that talks about all those long lost, foregotten 80's bands. One that comes to mind that I've recently redescoverd is a band who has an incredible Led Zepplin sound. Kingdom Come I'd love to encourage you all to post any of those long lost bands. I'm kind of on a rediscovery of them all. Does not necessarly have to be metal, galm or anything... Can be pop as well, yes I admit I loved a lot of the pop as well.
  14. CMon you guys... It's a movie, hollywood, entertainment.. []
  15. I'm thinking the predicesor to the tilt... The AT&T 8525

Halloween party A bald man with a wooden leg gets invited to a Halloween party. He doesn't know what costume to wear to hide his head and his leg so he writes to a costume company to explain his problem. A few days later he received a parcel with the following note: Dear Sir, Please find enclosed a pirate's outfit. The spotted handkerchief will cover your bald head and, with your wooden leg, you will be just right as a Pirate. Very truly yours, Acme Costume Co. The man thinks this is terrible because they have emphasized his wooden leg and so he writes a letter of complaint. A week goes by and he receives another parcel and a note, which says: Dear Sir, Please find enclosed a monk's costume. The long robe will cover your wooden leg and, with your bald head, you will really look the part. Very truly yours, Acme Costume Co. Now the man is really upset since they have gone from emphasizing his wooden leg to emphasizing his bald head so again he writes the company another nasty letter of complaint. The next day he gets a small parcel and a note, which reads: Dear Sir, Please find enclosed a bottle of molasses and a bag of crushed nuts. Pour the molasses over your bald head, pat on crushed nuts, stick your wooden leg up your butt and go as a caramel apple. Very truly yours, Acme Costume Co.

    Joke

It's the spring of 1957 and Bobby goes to pick up his date, Peggy Sue. Bobby's a pretty hip guy with his own car and a ducktail hairdo. At the front door Peggy Sue's father answers and invites him in. 'Peggy Sue's not ready yet, so why don't you have a seat?' he says. 'That''s cool.' says Bobby. Peggy Sue's father asks Bobby what they are planning to do. Bobby replies politely that they will probably just go to the malt shop or to a drive-in movie. Peggy Sue's father responds, 'Why don't you kids go out and screw? I hear all of the kids are doing it.' Naturally this comes as quite a surprise to Bobby and he says, 'Whaaaat?' 'Yeah,' says Peggy Sue''s father, 'Peggy Sue really likes to screw; she'll screw all night if we let her!' Bobby's eyes light up and he smiles from ear to ear as he mentally revises the night's plans. A few minutes later, Peggy Sue comes downstairs in her little poodle skirt with her saddle shoes and announces that she's ready to go. Almost breathless with anticipation, Bobby escorts his date out the front door while Dad is saying, 'Have a good evening, kids!' About 20 minutes later, a thoroughly disheveled Peggy Sue rushes back into the house, slams the door behind her and screams at her father: 'Dammit, Daddy! The twist! It's called the twist!!'
  19. I guess my concerns are all these new features, they all sound so good. Things like WiFi, all the Bluetooth connectivity.... I simply have not done any research on any of these technologies for phones... So things like WiFi, does that cost extra in your plan? Does Bluetooth generally cost more? As I understand it, Bluetooth is like a little mini networking capability right?
  20. I'm looking at getting a new PDA / Phone with bluetooth. I already have a cingular account. So the phone would be an upgrade. Have any of you had any bad experiances with upgrading to a blue tooth? Are there any hidden fees, or hidden anything that you were not aware of.
  21. His Finest Album...........No More Tears, the OZ-man nailed that one......solid, complete album from start to finish..... I'm sorry but that is pretty laughable. Blizzard Of Ozz and Diary Of A Madman are WAY superior. Zakk is a wanker guitarist who doesn't hold a candle to Randy Rhoads. LOL, while funny, I have to disagree. I like zaks style. Paul Simon had a song if I recall, had Chevy Chase in the entire video, always that that had a great bass riff. Oh yeah... You can call me Al. That's it.
  22. Ohhh.. How about Zebra's Who's behind the door?
