  1. Was there any mention of how high of a response that each sub size can reach?
  2. Six La Scalas for sale. No affiliation. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/ele/d/saint-paul-klipsch-la-scala-floor/7675747616.html
  3. I noticed these for sale in the Chicago area. It looks like there are two pair for sale. No affiliation. https://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/d/bloomingdale-klipsch-speakers-kb-td-f/7548540614.html

    Gain?

Yes, my amp has an analog volume control. I just did a quick Google search on the OPPO 105 volume control and it seems that it is 32-bit. So I am probably not goofing up the sound too bad by using it. 🙂 Thanks. Mark

    Gain?

In my setup, I have a preamp hooked up to an integrated amp. So instead of having an amp with adjustable gain, I have an amp with a volume control but no gain adjustment. Would the steps be the same in this case? First turn the amp volume down and then turn the volume of the preamp up. Then adjust the volume of the amp only as high as you care to listen to? In case you are wondering, my "preamp" is an OPPO 105D. I use it as a preamp because it has a remote volume control. My integrated amp does not. Mark
  7. Should measurements be taken from 1 meter when blending a sub with the main speakers? Or should that be done from the Listening Position? Would it make sense to take measurements from the Listening Position to determine whether there are any room reflections to reduce? Thanks. Mark
  8. I assume phase flattening below 100 Hz mentioned above does not eliminate the need to restore the "Missing Octave(s)"? Was your re-EQ work that provided 6 dB of total end-to-end correction done to all your music files saved on disk? If so, is it possible to re-EQ the original music once to correct recording mistakes and save those changed files as the new "master" copies? Then if any further tuning needs to be done to the music due to a DSP change, room treatment, new driver, or a new amp, use DSP to make the adjustment once for all music being played? Mark
  9. A number of years ago I came across a short writeup on setting up multiple (3) subwoofers that I thought was pretty interesting. I have never given it a try, so I don't know how well it works. But it sounds like using multiple subs is a good way to flatten the frequency response of the bass in a room. https://mehlau.net/audio/multisub_geddes/ Mark
  10. Chris, would the spectrogram that you provided of the BMS 4592ND change much if the volume was set to 92 dB (like the TAD) instead of 82 dB? Mark
  11. I own a 6L6 amp built by Lance Cochrane as well. I bought mine about five years ago. I really enjoy listening to music through it. I give it the summer off when its warm outside. But when fall rolls around, I swap it back into my system. The thought that comes to mind when I play the first song is "This thing sounds pretty good!". Mark
  12. I have enjoyed reading about how you guys are using these AMT drivers. They must sound really good. I wonder what the life expectancy for one of these AMT drivers will be? Do they gradually "wear out" and/or degrade in sound? Or should they normally outlast the buyer? How well do they work in various environment conditions? Does low humidity or high humidity affect them? How about high/low temperatures? Hopefully one day ESS will add some speaker wire binding posts to the back instead of having those wires that can be accidentally pulled out. Mark
  13. Well, that was my first post, so that's pretty new. Thanks for the welcome. Mark
  14. It is interesting that John Atkinson of Stereophile ended his written up measurements of the Klipschorn by wondering what a fully DSP-corrected, tri-amplified version of the Klipschorn would sound like: https://www.stereophile.com/content/klipsch-klipschorn-ak6-loudspeaker-measurements Apparently it can sound pretty good.
