Finally found one store with a demo unit. It sounded exactly the same as mine. So the good news is mine isn't broken. The bad news is that it doesn't sound ANYTHING like a Klipsch heritage speaker. VERY muddy highs.

Interesting; I just got mine, and it sounded really "muffled" and "stuffy". Wondering if there is any store near the Tacoma WA area that I can hear a demo to see if mine is defective. It almost sounded like it has blown twitter.
