I am in a great position to get a Forte III + cables  + interconnects + streamer Blue Sound + Power Conditioner for 4500.00 But: I heard that Klipsch supposed to come out with a new Forte in 2021. Does anyone know that this is fact or fiction? A second question reflects using a two channel as a "home theater": I like to primarily use my two channel for music listening, but I would also like to watch TV but I don't have a device with HDMI and don't want to use an optical connection (because I hear HDMI is far better for picture and sound). Also I don't want to use a separate AV processor or AVR, just my integrated or separates. Thanks

    Forte IV shipping in January!

    Are you suggesting quartets migrate???

I reminded you that it was looked down upon to flip merch to the community through the forum. According to your post it seems it was August that you bought the 8.5/10 oak quartets and matching  9/10 academy for ~$500 and immediately flipped the academy. I believe I saw another thread about you trying to find the going rate on quartets and posted a link from Detroit. Either way, when I saw iteachstem have an issue with some shady deals it validated my suspicions over the past few months.

We live in an anarcho-syndicalist commune and we take turns to act as an executive officer for the week... not sure if we would need a simple majority or 2/3rds majority in this instance?

So? Do i have a super fan or a stalker? I also realize that this a community but did not realize we are communists. And where are these quartets I’m selling?

I am glad you were able to salvage these. Nice work! I came across DTO locally as he was purchasing stuff cheap around Chicago and reposting on the Klipsch forum and other local sites the next day. The claims of labor intensive sanding and refinishing were just untrue. I was in contact with the seller that had sold them to him, but couldn’t make the trip. The Academy’s, quartets and Chorus’ that are bragged about on here were all purchased well below market value and then flipped here or locally. To each his own, but when called out privately the lies came spewing out. This is a great community and glad he was finally exposed for the deception. I don’t believe deleting threads with serious issues would serve as jus minds want to know one post “newbie”

Inquiring minds would like to know? Newbie

Mmmm who are you? And when did I do this?

I thought Iteachstem, after trading his Fortes for these (your) KLF 30s, and refurbishing the cabinets, left the OEM drivers installed. Is that not correct?

The cabinets do look nice, BTW. It would be good to see a close up of the cabinet bases, where the water damage occurred, and was repaired.

My apologies! I did not realize these were those. I hadn’t seen klf-30s that color around this way.

The name calling, for both sides, is unnecessary, but, unfortunately, IMO, you @Iteachstem waived any opportunity to complain about the crossovers when you auditioned them before agreeing to the trade.  Dismantling them further lost you the moral high ground.

Sorry for name calling! After 10- messages from him yesterday, ten days after the transaction, it was all my limited vocabulary could come up with.  This matter is over and done on my end.

  7. Wow!

    this nut job!

he’s a Craigslist flipper who had already gutted and posted the drivers for sale eight days ago!
he demoed these on his equipment, in his garage!
I offered to not make the deal but he insisted.

    moderator please delete this thread.

At the most. I found them to be over rated and one set was enough for me and I have passed them all up since then. If I were still looking for speakers to restore these would not be one of them.

I have two pair in the basement media room only getting use as surrounds. Plenty good for that but if people were actually buying at $700 I’d sell them in a minute!

  9. LOL

i rememberer seeing them. I did not recall the price. I sold a stock oil oak one one for $300 about four months ago that was pretty good. I’ve seen them sold as high as $450 or so. As much as I agree that the phantom can be great depending on how directional (atmos/dtsx) of a system you want the more direct radiating channels the better. IMHO

What would be a reasonable price to pay for one of these speakers? The ones on the bay are 1279/pair or 699 for one. Seems a bit rich for my blood!  Maybe a phantom center is the way to go as suggested by @wuzzzer 🤔

Hey DTO, are you interested in Heresys at all? If that interests you at all for trade. I am in Michigan but maybe we could meet up. I have five pair of KLF already and seven Heresys, and the KLF are better suited to my needs.

as a three way your KLF30 have a more modern designed mid horn (which is also a wide band horn which is used as a tweeter in some pro Klipsch. This wider bandwidth proves this is a superior horn design which could be used in a two way design. This additional bandwidth has no impact when used as a mid horn in a three way design but the horn depth of the KLF20&30 mid horn has a distinct advantage over the mid horn used in a Quartet Forte 2 and Chorus 2 in that it is much shorter and so aligns better with the woofers which by the way will push much more air than a single fifteen inch woofer can. In my opinion it all boils down to whether you like the sound of a fifteen inch woofer or a twelve inch woofer best. The KLf dual woofers can benefit from an acoustic filter used on the bottom woofer an 1/8" layer of F11 acoustical felt works very well If you want to build a new front baffle you can place the mid horn at the top of the cabinet with the tweeter horn between the top woofer and the mid horn as this will buy you some free time alignment between the tweeter and the mid horns as well as placing the mid horn closer to your seated ear level for improved stage and image.

Wow! Thanks for the info. I’m not as golden eared as others on this forum. I’m looking to make a trade for more esthetic reasons.
