  1. I don't own it so i wouldn't know. Its rated by manufacturer at 13 city, 18 hwy. I get 19-25 with my 2012 Camaro, with a trailer hitch.
  2. My neighbor right next door just traded his Jeep for a black Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition supercab truck. Gorgeous rich brown leather inside, the smell. Came inside and googled 1794 because i had never heard of one.......$49,000 MSRP. 4 wheel drive, big V-8, Lexus leather int. Another 12 or 13 mpg vehicle. 5600 lb curb weight.
  3. Everything I read on the website says the service aspect is terminated, that Terry has retired. But i thought it might be worth an email from the OP to see if they might be interested in purchasing his now basket case for parts. Maybe not. I found a shop close to me (60 miles) and called them, gave the lady my contact info, and they never called me back. Wanted an estimate to replace my MC-150 glass, and when they could do it. Their reviews on line are not good either. Only other shop I found next is in Houston TX, 350 miles from me. Finding a good McIntosh repair shop seems really challenging. I had called another in NY and they wanted $60 more for the glass than I paid from McIntosh Labs. So glad Mac had it on hand. $216 shipped to me. Good service, Brian in Parts was most helpful.
  4. Speed is relative. I have neighbors who own Priuses and love them. The opposite is a Jeep Trackhawk luxury SUV, 707 hp, 4 wheel drive, 10 speed auto, 0-60 faster than a Corvette. Can carry 4 or 5 comfortably. You might get 13 mpg tho. If i had deep pockets, I might just own a Trackhawk for chits and giggles.
  5. It's coming, cannot stop it: https://www.yahoo.com/news/health-authorities-expect-coronavirus-spread-us-soil-183113437.html Just wait til it hits the schools in the US.
  6. I'm 85% cash and treasury cds right now. I'd love to see a 15-25% correction......it would be a great buying opportunity. Imo, the market has been way oversold for some time now. Time will tell, its gathering some steam again today. Down 466 points right now. Still waiting on $70 AAPL.......I'm all over it then.
  7. Sure scaring the world markets. Another day down, Dow down 1.3% so far. And gold is declining hard today also, not a good sign. Gold down 1.70%.
  8. Tell that to the ~ 2800 people who have died world wide from coronavirus so far. There are 50,000 active cases world wide right now. Old farts should be more concerned, old farts and very young children/infants. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ The pandemic has not yet been arrested. Just getting rolling really.
  9. It was. They canned it because of on going canbus issues.......
  10. I thought the same yesterday but said nothing. I figured the OP preferred his pre/amp/current equip arrangement. Me, i'd go for a Yamaha integrated amp like the link below. Loads of clean power and a built in dac. Sub out too. Next unit up + $100 comes with a digital pc input (usb). https://www.crutchfield.com/p_022AS701S/Yamaha-A-S701-Silver.html
  11. Let me tell you I flat DO NOT trust our government to protect us. Straight up. Our government is a cluster f**k in so many ways! My niece is a Phd in biochemistry and molecular pharmacology, had her own lab @ Sloan Kettering in Manhatten for ~ 8 years cancer research and cellular development. Emily is a brilliant scientist....so what does she do? She is now working for the federal government in DC. Emily had several universities actively pursuing her when she graduated from HS. Full scholarship to Harvard plus $30k stipend annually. She was attending HS and college in NM before Harvard.
  12. CDC website says 14, updated daily. Who knows? https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-in-us.html 8 days survival on an inanimate object is just crazy! Huge threat.
  13. On the national news yesterday they stated there are 52 cases in the US right now. SO its here already. Gonna be hard to stop........best chance is get our greatest scientific and medical minds working on a vaccine if possible. 34 cases in the US 4 days ago: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/21/health/coronavirus-cases-usa.html
  14. Another article, same outcome: https://www.sciencealert.com/study-shows-just-how-long-coronaviruses-can-stick-around-on-a-surface So in theory one could ship via air mail corona from China to the US mainland. I bet the CDC is putting a 10+ day hold recommendation on all express mail from China.
  15. This article states the virus can live up to 9 days on a inanimate surface. Something to think about. https://www.livescience.com/how-long-coronavirus-last-surfaces.html
  16. He died in 1991. http://www.aes.org/aeshc/jaes.obit/JAES_V39_9_PG735.pdf
  17. Yes, was on the national tv news yesterday. Hidden Figures was an awesome movie. John Glenn wouldn't take off unless Miss Johnson calculated/verified the trajectory data. She was a genius.
  18. @PHX1KAH I want to add if you search, there are a couple shops/guys in the US who specialize in repairing/restoring McIntosh equipment. Perhaps one of them might be interested in purchasing ur unit remains, least you might recover something from it. Or maybe they purchase for its salvagable parts? I will post a link to one such I found while searching a month ago. Guy in TN. There are not a lot of Mac repair shops to be found really. http://www.mcintoshaudio.com/
  19. Good choice. If you do your homework as i did before purchasing, the A (Advantage) series offers a middle foot on the unit and an additional 1 year of warranty. Not worth the extra cost imo. When I was looking I found last years 9 channel V model with 140 wpc x2 for like $1000 shipped. Exact same specs as the A series. Guys had discussed this A vs V on another music forum on line. It was a great buy but I went with the V685 for the lastest features. I wanted to add it does so much more than what i outlined above, just what is really valuable to me. Plays digital files from a music server, internet radio, Spotify, Tidal, ect. It does it all. Bluray movie playback is outstanding too.
  20. To the OP all above is valuable info. I purchased a Mac MC-150 like a month ago off ebay. The seller said he had double boxed Mac pieces before and he did in fact pack it well double boxed. But he failed to remove the 2 knobs, or relieve the foam from contacting the knobs. End result a broken front glass. He paid for the glass and meter filters I ordered straight from McIntosh Labs in NY. Mac Labs are great people, I worked with Brian. I got some advice from USNRET here and watched a video on youtube. I got the glass replaced and cleaned the amp internals while I had the unit partially apart. Took pics and notes, step by step. I did research on my repair @ a local shop, costs. I agree with the guys looking at ur pics this unit is now a parts unit, way too expensive to repair, not worth it. Like others say, ship in original Mac container, or purchase a new shipping box/container from Mac Labs. One for my unit costs $75. It attached with screws to the unit bottom so a 60 lb unit doesn't shift even slightly in shipping resulting in glass breakage. And some of the 350 wpc Mac stereo amps weigh 107 lbs. No Mac box...no ship, lesson learned. On the flip side I absolutely love my MC-150 amp. It would cost $5000 to replace it new in today's market. Originally sold for $3000 in 1995 to 1997.
  21. 10-4 and I was in agreement with you, the timetable of events. Another article on patent protection and rights, and the costs of enforcing patent infringements: https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/can-i-get-international-patent-protection.html
  22. It's how the Chinese get away with copying anything, be it Japanese motorcycles or German designed amplifiers. There is no world wide patent. 30 years ago, it was the Russians copying and building tractors. Belarus if I remember correct. The Chinese manufacturing/sales machine has copied so many items. Small engines, portable generators, motorcycles, designer clothing and items, ect.
  23. Doesn't matter anyway, a US patent does not apply globally. You don't have to be a lawyer to search valid info on the interwebs. "Simply put, a patent protects an invention or discovery. Obtaining a patent for your invention is a smart way to discourage others from making and using—or profiting from—your work. Obtaining a patent in the US does not guarantee international protection of your intellectual property—USPTO patents are only effective in the US. There is no "international patent" that will protect an invention all over the world." source: https://www.legalzoom.com/articles/does-your-us-patent-trademark-or-copyright-protect-you-overseas
  24. I love the smell of burning MDF in the morning. Smells like.................. victory!
