I forgot about him- I was thinking hifi more than guitar amp but I agree. He even has a dog that can sniff out bad caps

I don't know about the fisher but #1 you already have it, #2 you can get a taste of tubes and see if you want to live with them, #3 You've got valuable input from Henry. I agree w/ respect to parts kits- you don't get to choose the ingredients. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=mr+carlson's+lab doesn't mostly point to point work and makes it look less scary https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChTN8got77QeKPFRmTJ0teg is pretty methodical https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=elams+1894 makes it all look like audio/asmr/porn

Looks like no one mentioned Elekit. They're kits from Japan and seem to be well regarded. Just under $2k in the US. Not sure if you're looking for a kit but you'd get more for your money... https://www.elekit.co.jp/en/product/TU-8900E https://diyaudiostore.com/products/elekit-tu-8600s The best I heard was a $25k border patrol w/ 4 WE 300Bs playing through Volti Razz at the NY audio show last spring. https://www.borderpatrol.net/amplifiers/ I have a tubes4hifi VTA ST120 p/p that I built w/ KT120s and Chorus 2's. I need to do some maintenance on it and currently playing through a Dynaco ST120 s/s that needs an overhaul ASAP. I have the parts, just need approval for the workspace. Not the same situation as yours but more to think about.

Sorry this one’s not vinyl but it’s in the spirit. I got this CD when it first came out Some friends hooked me up to see them in 2011… Great show and mick was a nice guy too.

That's cool. This set has the three LP's as well with lyrics. It's pretty clean sounding.

This can't be good for @OO1

"Getting some of it here in Ohio too. Sad to see all of the fires up there. Such beautiful country. ANY forest fire is sad to see." When I shot that at 6:45am, the air quality index was about 147. Right now it's 193 and you can smell it. Real sad.

Just listened to this (Episode 1440) https://www.wtfpod.com One of a kind... "Read "I am not Spock" - No! Better listen to the audio-book by Leonard Nimoy! He tells us all about the greatest prankster that ever lived on this planet. R.I.P. Mister Nimoy/ Spock."

Thanks Dave. It can't always be Dire Straits and King Crimson. Nothing wrong with them, btw.

This goes back a few years but may be worth a read- AND things may have changed: https://dynacotubeaudio.forumotion.com/t2097-sophia-electric-virginia-usa-yeah-sure?highlight=sophia

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/recipe-jim-laheys-basic-no-knead-bread/ Sorry for the CBS link. I got the book and it's my go to. BTW, using a scale is a game changer- no more mess- do it all in grams. I do the second rise on the parchment paper and lower the whole thing into the dutch oven. If any does stick, it peels off when cooling.

I have no experience with this. Just remembered it and thought it might help

You could have a look here. They have an FAQ section. No personal affiliation other than as an occasional customer. https://www.bluejeanscable.com

Maybe Danny Richie can get these old things sorted out for me. After that they'll go to ASR for a full scope review ...

When I win them, I'll be back to ask about upgrading the x/o's, drivers, etc... 😜

I inherited the TT. It was my stepdad's. He was a musician and had that with a Marantz (w/ the oscilloscope), Tandberg R2R, and Altec VOT's. My mom got him one of the first Sony CD players- the specs were hand written IIRC. His kid's got the rest. Grateful to have the TD125mk2. I had it overhauled by Vinyl Nirvana before bringing it to it's new home. It plays with a Denon DL103, Ned Clayton SUT, re-done Dynaco PAT4, soon to be re-done Dynaco ST120 (summer), VTA ST120 for cooler times, and Chorus 2's. After completing the VTA120 build, the first album I played on it was Hunky Dory. That's a keeper too!
