Yes, they are two different stains even though the serial numbers are consecutive (bought at the same time). I presumed first owner (I was the second) stained them himself and for some reasons did each a little differently? One is glossy. Both are nicely done and after decades of ownership, no-one has ever spontaneously noticed this (since each is in a different corner of the room). Thank you for pointing out this quirk of this pair.
