Come on up; it's not that far. A little over 10 hours on interstates each way. In the 80s, I lived in Boca Raton and would drive home to KC to see my parents on a long weeked. It was a day trip then... 😳

A new smaller house is in the works, so it is with great regret I offer these Walnut La Scala IIs. They are “B” stock due to the mismatched veneer, but who cares when you view the entire speaker (and I seldom look at the sides of them)? I am somewhat OCD about audio equipment and the prior owner was just as “careful;" they are flawless. I keep a sheet over them when not in use (the gray sheets are included). These loudspeakers have no issues. They are as sonically & visually stunning as you would expect. I suspect there will be no WAF issues when they are viewed. The photographs really don't convey the total impact of the reddish tones and dark veining. They nearly match my 70th anniversary Heresys in color & veining. They are stunning in person (hyperbole until you sell them yourself).
While I have the boxes, I will not ship them. That requires pallets & strapping. I sold my F-150 (no one needs a diesel right now) so delivery is not an option. I’m south of Nashville and north of DaveA, so make a country music weekend out of it. You are welcome to audition them (sorry, no SS; tubes rule) or just pick them up on the fly; your call.

My experience tracks with that.
And with only 3 tubes per amp its not terribly expensive to swap tubes from EL34s to KT88s. either.
They have no WAF, by the way.

I found this on the internet, so it must be true...
Typical Rectifier Voltage Drops
• 5Y3 – 60 volts @ 125 mA
• 5U4GB – 50 volts @ 275 mA
• 5U4 – 44 volts @ 225 mA
• 5V4 – 25 volts @ 175 mA
• 5AR4 – 17 volts @ 225 mA
As a safety note – you can generally go “down” but not always “up”. This means you can generally put a 5U4 or 5Y3 in an amp that had a 5AR4, but it is not recommended to put a 5AR4 or 5U4 in an amp that had a stock 5Y3. The increase in voltages may be too much for the other components in the amplifier.
Actually it came from a gear forum of guitar amps.
I have a variety of rectifiers, some great others no so great, that would be interesting to roll. Let's assume the numbers in the above blurb have some basis in reality. Am I correct in reading you could (all other things being equal) run a rectifier of greater voltage drop in place of one with a lesser voltage drop? Thus, "down" means more voltage drop? Yes, I understand that is pretty much exactly what it says, but I'd have a greater comfort level if some here chimed in.

Not sure, but QuickSilver has been around since 1981, far longer than PrimaLuna. I don't recall reading either is hard on tubes or prone to reliability issues.
The key to the Horn amps is they were designed specifically for very high efficiency horn loudspeakers. They'll work in other applications, but horns are their target speakers.

Yes; I listen to everything (except metal) and the Horns perform well on all genres. Its the absolute lack of background noise that make them so satisfying to me. I run them on my LaScala IIs and when placing my ear within an inch of the speaker there is no sound whatsoever.
For Heritage speakers, I stand by everything in my previous post. They are a great value even a full retail.

If you use PayPal Goods & Services to receive the $2000, you & the IRS will receive a 1099 showing $2000 income. You are no longer a normal joe wage slave: you are are now a self employed captain of industry! At that point you need to have records to show the loss to offset the $2000. Back in the day, we had a bumper sticker that read "A**, Gas or Grass: nobody rides for free" We used to think it was clever. Turns out it's true. There is no free lunch either. I can't think of anything that does not have some "terms of service." Even death has rules, but in the end, we don't have to care about that. Everyone has the right to pick up their marbles and find another game. But, none of this answers Dave's question.
I'm using PayPal, in either mode, or cash. I have asked about MOs, but received "blank stares" in response. Most people are tied to the convenience of PP and plastic money and if I'm buying, it's their call how they want to be paid. If I am uncomfortable with that, my option is to not buy.
I think the safest move is to decide what minimizes your risk, whatever that is. I am not aware of other peer to peer payment systems that offer PP's protection or convenience. Venmo, Zelle & wire transfers are one way streets; taking credit cards is an option, as are the old standbys of checks, money orders and cash.

Absolutely. We just need to determine the best way to avoid what we find unconscionable. I find it annoying I now have to keep records for trying audio equipment, selling and moving on to the next piece. I'm not making a profit, but its still shows as income.

Isn't what we are really complaining about is the IRS figured out we were transferring money willy nilly and a portion of that is, in reality, income? Now we either have to become good record keepers or find another manner of payments. I suggest we go back to money orders or accepting checks assuming they clear. Certainly this will take instantaneous gratification and impulse buying out of the picture, but it does offers some relief for tracking income. Of course, face to face and cash still work, too.

I can live with that. And I could care less if Elon "freaks out." IMHO he's not too highly wrapped anyway.
Everyone who does anything has a set of rules they act under. No returns without receipt; you must be this tall to ride, etc. Its our choice who we interact with. If people have a problem with PayPal, there are other services for payment or even face to face. Most of us used money orders or checks before PP. They are still available for use.
I thought a free market allowed these folks to make billions. Isn't that the cornerstone of the founding of the US? Why do you think the Dutch flocked here after they landed hundreds of years ago? To make money.

PayPal is a publicly traded entity. Vanguard (as in mutual funds) is the largest single shareholder. Private individuals own less than 7% of the company (less than Vanguard). In reality, they are a payment system that is morphing into banking. They own Venmo, BTW.

The spare tubes I'll include several tubes specific to the unit: a quartet of SV6L6GC and a trio of 5U3C tubes. While the photo shows a quartet of 6L6s, my neighbors bas amp blew its tubes and he needed a pair. So to confirm, regardless of the photo, its really two 6L6s. Still a deal IMHO.

Somewhere is those cable articles was a statement that "hearing memory" of the prior sound has effectively dissipated in less than 30 seconds. Better switch fast...
