  1. checked all the leads by sight and jiggiling them. no luck. not being too technical my relative said something about the tensel(?) wire inside was bad because if you put pressure on the cone in the right spot it would work for a while. is thee anyway for a novice to check this out without inflicting more damage. thanks in advance
  2. I m a novice but i have a great pair of RP-3 that i want to pair up with kg 1's a relative gave me. One speaker works excellent; other speaker tweeter works great but woofer does nt. relative said speaker is fine but tensel inside is broken. any way to fix or replace and is it cost effective. I m in queens nyc if anyone can reccomend a place. i can do basic repairs. thanks in advance to all who lend any advice
  3. thanks for the advice, i also bought on ubid. i am running it on an onkyo tx 840 (also known as an R1) which i know nothing about. recently was offered a Kenwood km 105 and kc 105 set up for almost nothing anyone know about them. I m also looking at the HK pa 2000 on ubid, any ideas? as far as the Brooklyn apt dweller, as i live in queens and work in brooklyn i know all too well about limted space. the speakers are a bit powerful for my place but it was a great deal and i plan too use these for many years so eventually i will not have that worry. I also have a post in problems, my kg1 woofer is not working( i assume its the internal tinsel) anyone know a speaker repair place in area thats good, esp queens
  4. Just bought a pair of rp3's and wonder if anyone has any suggestions for setting up a good two channel system. Have aceess to many older used amps and recievers in nyc. right now i am running it on an Onkyo R1 which i know nothing about anyone ever hear of it? and whats the best speaker cable. Thanks to all
  5. Thanks for the new info, gave me an hour of curiousity. I took apart the speaker and checked the tinsels both visually and by hooking up wire directly on and sliding across. never got the woofer to work but horn kept working so i assume its not an easy tinsel problem. Assume from my limted knowledge and your help it is the internal tinsel. Is this possible to fix either by myself or a pro or can i get a replacment woofer or piece, anyone know approx costs. always enjoy fixing things myself even if it costs abit more in time and money. Thanks in advace to all
  6. thanks for the concern. just curious that it would work fine when i apply slight pressure. will try to clean them off and and see about foreign material. will inquire about new driver.thanks and always welcome any other advice
  7.
