    That was my suspicion. I removed them, and gained full tweeter functionality. I wonder if the last owner knew about the mod? The rear of the speakers was covered by a Masonite panel, with a fuse, and second input jack. I’m sure he bought them that way.

    I just picked up a pair of La Scala’s. I’m curious about the crossover. It’s an AA, but has different wiring than what I’m seeing online. Notably, I’m seeing an additional resistor on the tweeter circuit. What’s that about? To tone down the tweeters? Any ideas appreciated!
