  1. No you have to remember that Lucas is going to suck this stone dry.. About 3-6 months after the dvd release he'll put out a dts version of the dvds. Then after that he'll put out another version that comes with Episode 3 information / trailer... and so on and so on. Wasen't one of the laser disc versions of SW in DTS?
  2. Game dosen't sound half bad either... 5.1 surround through the pm ultra 5.1s. Gaming bliss.
  3. I've been able to playback the halo 2 trailer in 5.1 (both trailers are in 5.1 the new one and the pre release one FYI). Ok make sure your speakers settings under control panel are set to 5.1. The 5.1 signal isn't dolby its windows media, so thats why the DD5.1 won't detect it. Also you need to be running the windows media 9 player, earlier versions don't work in 5.1 even with the codec downloaded. You also might need to update your sound card drivers. In some cases older soundcards won't support it, I know the current Sound Blaster boards run 5.1 fine and with 24 bit audio. If you get it working and want to see something really awesome. Pick up the new terminator 2 dvd. On the second disc it includes an ultra high quality windows media 9 version of the movie that has full 5.1 surround and 24 bit audio. Blew me away.

    WinDVD 4

how are you playing them? Do you have the speakers plugged directly into the GTXP or are you using an external decoder? Also I know that windvd won't decode dts unless you have the plus version. Or the platinum.

    WinDVD 4

I wouldn't bother with windvd 4 its junk. I dunno what they've done but I've never been able to get proper surround with it. I've tried using my Audigy 1 , 2 and my GTXP. All say that they're 5.1 cards but when I go to play a movie I only hear audio out of the front left and right channels. Try PowerDVD XP. It works perfect; Does DD5.1, DTS, DDEX and DTS ES.
  6. Any word on the extras? I'm planning on picking this up.
  7. You could read that or check out the real thing here http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/t3/
  8. Wow I think you have the whole set!!
  9. I've been using it for about a month now with no problems. Windows Media video plays back much better (I have a couple Stern shows and normally when you start playing them the first 10-15 seconds skip by too fast with WM8, on WM9 they playback fine), there's 5.1 WM Audio support (even though there's only one clip out right now that supports it). I think in general audio quality is better. You can make it alot better with the plug-ins below. The plug in support is way better, you can download the DFX plug in for WM9 and it greatly enhances the playback of everything from movies to music. There's also support for expanding the sound to all 5.1 speakers (not available in the demo). There's also dvd plug-ins you can purchase like the windvd and powerdvd plug-ins. http://windowsmedia.com/9series/personalization/plugins.asp?page=4&lookup=Plugins I'd give it a try. Remember once you're installed you can't go back unless you back up before you install. Need to use system restore in XP.
  10. I totally agree. When I had HBO I watched it whenever I could, unfortunatly I missed like 3 episodes and got lost in the story. Now that I own the collection I can finally see it all.
  11. For all those wanting ep 4-6 on DVD you may want to check out the japanese laser disc rip version. I picked up the 3 on dvd. Quality was great. Also all were in DD5.1 and DTS. Look for them on eBay. The indiana jones trilogy is also available, thats what I'm getting next. F Lucas and waiting till 2006 - 2007 to release the complete set on DVD, get it now.
  12. You're asking for alot of things there.. 6.1, 7.1 and Advanced EAX. Well pick up the Audigy 2 it has two of them. 6.1 and EAX. The 7.1 is only available on the GTXP and some pro level cards, kiss your EAX good bye there. No support for the superior EAX Advanced HD in sight. If you want 6.1 really bad you could take a 5.1 and add a 2.1. Make yourself a 6.1. You need a Y-Splitter and a bit of imagination to get it to work with the Audigy 2 though.
  13. Justin take pictures of your progress. I'd be very interested to see how this comes together. ------------------ P4 2.4GHZ 512 MEGS Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer Hercules Game Theatre Windows XP
  14. While we're on the subject I'm building a new pc myself: MB: Asus P4T533-T CPU: Intel P4 2.53GHZ RAM: 512 MB 800 RDRAM CASE: Coolermaster ATC-110 HD: 2 40gig w/ Promise Raid Controller CDRW: Plextor 40/12/40 DVD: Toshiba 16x POWER SUPPLY: Enermax Whisper 350 Watt (might go to 400) The rest I already have. SB Audigy w/ GTXP, GF4 4600, keyboard, mouse, monitor and of course my PM 5.1s. It's been a real pain to find the case, the rest is good to go. Anyone know any places in Canada that carry Coolermaster cases? I also need a good quiet cpu cooler for P4. This computer is mainly going to be used for music listening, DV editing and GAMES!! ------------------ AMD 1.9GHZ 512 RAM Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer Windows XP
