  1. I wish I needed such a beast. Our "trees" are more like big bushes. Mesquites want to grow low. Maybe the sun beats them down. Typical big ones are prolly twice as big in diameter as tall [I don't have any big ones on the property....No dirt or water on top of the hill] they shed leaves all thru the cold months and will finally drop 'em all when the new growth pushes them off.
  2. the $40oz stuff usually has everything you need to make your own... seeds rec legal typically come with provisions for growing your own. Our legal rec came with 6 plants/adult over 21 a fat 6ft plant will make about a pound also, not all varieties will leave you stupid and lazy don't ask how I know
  3. the blue album.... -------------------------- does Roger Waters constitute Pink Floyd? ... I was kinda under the impression ladies like Peter Gabriel -------------------------- John, you are showing your age -------------------------------------------------- just in the mood this AM
  4. Think I'm having a shredded beef sandwich on home made bread... I love this bread machine. Know I can make better by hand, this is just too easy.
  5. check your sources ... a lot of bs being marketed
  6. Has our cold weather gotten there yet? We set a record low high temp yesterday Masks hiding what catches our attention.... Like dancers wearing a paper bag over their head will still make money... Boy brought an 11 pound boneless beef shoulder "steak" [that's what the label said]. Cut a couple roast size pieces off and roasted the rest ... made shredded beef selected my words carefully to avoid jokes about "pulling meat" ....beat y'all to the punch
  7. He appears on Flash, too. People Get Ready is really moving. Seems that he pops in on Live at Ronnie Scott's, also speaking of Rod and Faces.. Here's one off The Big Ball [if I remember] a WB Loss Leader sampler collection
  8. uh huh they had some lp's in a glass case, inaccessible w/o assistance, $1ea .... looked in very good condition. There wasn't any help behind the counter....I dinna get to check them out to see what they were. They had plastic sleeves over the covers... The 10 cent lp's are not pristine... whata want for 10 cents? hooked the cd/dvd player up in the doghouse....seems like a decent unit. For $10, if it works, it is good. I kinda prefer cd/dvd players to a plain ol' cd player... I think they read better IDK snagged 4 older Beatles cds. Gave them to the wife. Hard Days Night, Sgt Pepper, For Sale and BBC Live for me AC/DC Live, Dave Brubeck - Take Five, Bob Marley - Legend [greatest hits], 3 Clapton...Pilgrim, Layla and 461 Ocean Blvd, Eagles - Long Road Out of Eden, Doors - LA Woman feel like I scored pretty good
  9. I went shopping while wife was in the Dr's brought home 3 lps It's a Beautiful Day, Vangelis -Heaven and Hell and Pointer Sisters - Break Out a dozen CDs... and a Harman/Kardan DVD 25 [no remote... oh well] ... the vinyl was $0.10ea CDs were $2ea and the cd/dvd player $10 How did I do? I love going to the "White Elephant" to shop
  10. something light and fluffy for the AM
  11. found something for tonight I don't have the extensive collections most of you have.... but there is some good stuff amongst those that graded out by time
  12. She is still quite attractive....even the gray [wife would say white] hair
  13. The helicopter ---- did your neighbors come out of the house to see it? around here, we get helicopters at tree top frequently, so it doesn't draw much attention.
  14. my bad... sorry the light shows are a spin off of drone swarms. With gps and altimeters and computer control, they are done. Some of the less sophisticated models available have an altimeter function. You can lock them in to a certain altitude. My first hand knowledge of drones stops several years ago.
  15. there's a lot of fancy ways to down them but, a shotgun works very well there are regs for [not] flying around developed areas. If they are over a certain size, you are sposed to register them, too..
  16. We get a lot of hunters out here. Never seen any that good looking or dressed like that. Most are too hairy and built all wrong for my likes.
  17. Do you really know what day of the week it is, Chuck? any day can be Monday when you're retired winter showed up. High of 53`. No middle ground. Was 95` a few days ago. We split the difference next week. lit the fireplace this AM. Don't need to run to the kitchen for/to fill my coffee cup.
  18. I wanna say the group was MC5 Kick Out the Jams M F anyone remember this?
  19. ...back when I was playing with drones saw a vid of a computer guided drone run thru some crazy obstacles.. they were working on drone swarms when I got out. It's been several generation of drones now. The little ones were bleeding edge hobby stuff. Had to be near 10 years, now.. They are a lot of fun to fly. I did "sport flying"... not the spy in the sky stuff. They are very quick... notice in those specs @RandyH000 posted. Carbon frame -- no biggie there. 20 min battery time -- same as what we had Lights? I was stringing my own LEDS on them Fly in 25mph wind AND hold position w/i 10cm.... Now you are talking some pretty serious performance 20min flight time doesn't seem like much, until you fly one around. You'll be ready to relax after that. Requires a lot of attention to fly them. We didn't have FPV/ camera in ours and the little ones would disappear 30 or 40 feet from ya. Night flying was actually easier. With lights, you can see the craft a lot farther.
  20. Went to a Tubes concert, stag.... I had a good time, so did the guy's date sitting next to me... I don't think he had as much fun as his date/wife and I... saw Savoy Brown at a "brew pub"... ended up sitting on the floor. What can I say? I'm a lightweight with alcohol
  21. I am going to complain about our weather.... and you all will say "Oh, you poor thing" It's sunny and 65`F.... and the bloody wind is still blowing 20mph+... gusts to 35` it's not that bad, if you are inside looking out.... that's a song or album? a song from Motown not exactly soul... neither was Bob Seeger, though
  22. this one, I had .... and know where it went. Eldest sister has it. I gave it to her. She is a Beatles person. Pretty sure she got the blue one too in the mood for some Gentle Giant? No... too bad
  23. That gal would not have one bit of trouble with automotive repairs.... surprised there aren't 4 guys to show their mechanical prowess to her I wouldn't expect anything less from Mike.... ...and the post is on topic... there is a motorcycle in the picture, if you can get passed the gal
  24. We got enough to smell, so far. but yeah... if SanDiego gets rain [in the winter], we tend to get a little
