  1. something else from my collection
  2. I'm in Elden's boat... but we choose to not live in a city. Have to consider that but aside Best wishes Hope everything goes better than expected for ya. One thing about moving a distance.... it takes a while to "learn the ropes"... by my experience in HI. After you are there for a while, you find where to get what you need better/cheaper.
  3. Our "bad weather" is many sunny and warm. and when I say sunny, that means no clouds.... oppressively sunny doesn't feel nice... sunny The "monsoon" [which is a dud this year] makes our summers more midwest.. Warm, a touch of humidity, and air mass [popcorn] thunderstorms in the afternoon I was about to go off on a ramble ....in a nutshell After living here for 50 years, I saw it wasn't happening early on, this year...well before it was supposed to [traditionally] start
  4. some paces, chaotic weather is the norm We used to joke about the weather in Michiana Don't like it?...., it will change in 5 min.
  5. Jack Bruce was making the rounds... How about Truce ? Robin Trower and Jack Bruce
  6. oh, shut up! jk jk we're in for more Sunny and Warm. Year to date, we have gotten less than half our average precip. Was chasing around looking for food burning yesterday. Smelled it outside.... then I realized the wind was out of the west and the coffee roaster is 3 blocks WEST of us....duh
  7. they traded Felix Pappalardi for Jack Bruce I have this one... too I'm always surprised when you feature LP's I have. Ya have Cactus "Restrictions"?
  8. that's the attitude. Hope there weren't things that had sentimental value in there. The fact Chuck has to buy/build a new shed is good news, relative to what could have been. ------------------------------------------ I got a little mental boost today Went to the store and saw a friend who's been out of circulation for several weeks. Her family was quarantined due to covid. Everyone in the fam got it. Was good to see her out and OK. She said she took it pretty hard. The husband and 2 boys didn't take it as bad as she did. She said she was pretty sick. I was just happy to see her.
  9. remember housing is a transient thing in CA... Fire/flood/earthquake keeps the construction industry going. If you are driving and feel like slumming, stop by. Not too far outa the way, if you take I-10
  10. I must have gotten lucky. Mostly because my budget doesn't allow for experimentation... Any upgrade would prolly cost more than I have in my, as Matthews' sig sez, two speakers and an amplifier. I am prolly way toward the bottom of money invested...less than $2000
  11. If it was a tuff shed... dinna pass muster
  12. mornin' all good to hear from folks after the storm. Glad it's gone... if for no other reason than hearing the news mispronounce the name. Another "fine" June day. Too bad it's August and should be raining. If we manage to make average rainfall, it's not gonna do us much good. It will come as a flood. ....oh.. why not? Would fit in with the rest of the year or plague, pestilence and general unrest. cabin fever is getting me of late. The weather, or lack of, isn't helping. It's rained just enough to show me my patch on the roof worked... Prolly won't rain again until the roof is ready to leak...
  13. our school [in person] opening/s have been temporarily set for Aug 17. "Remote learning" started yesterday. Sounds like in person school will be pushed back to Sept...
  14. I didn't realize how many of "us" are in the hurricane zone... you all stay safe.
  15. doesn't taste as good as it looks ... as I spit chunks of video screen
  16. Used to be a place down here... Chicken Taco. Place was a dive. Had a big fiberglass chicken on the roof. A place no tourist would ever stop at. If they did stop, they didn't stay. Picnic tables and lawn furniture in the "dining room". .. A rubber chicken hanging from a beam in the ceiling. The waiter was sloooooow and always brought the wrong beer. Their chimichungas and tostadas ... made all of it worth the while.. even the water that ran thru the dining room, when it rained. One chimichunga would feed two men. Was relating to restaurants and chicken
  17. Wife's had something to do with the grey scale. Beyond that, my computer ignorance takes over. Since I reloaded firefox, spotify has been fine... for the moment I considered that a major feat for my computer skills Was telling the wife that I think computers should be treated like motorized vehicles. Not until a child is 16 or 18 or 21years old before they can operate one.
  18. surprised I was never blessed with that situation. That synth of mine could get quite obnoxious....er, I could get quite obnoxious with it.
  19. I'm afraid I would have taken my favorite tool [a hammer] to the problem Wife had an update on her computer [windows] yesterday, and after it installed, she was blessed with b&w graphics. She was not happy. Neither of us are particularly computer savvy, but we muddled thru it and got her color back. I know... a simple fix for someone that knows a little.
  20. fwiw saw a flycatcher on it's perch this AM. Think it's the one I saved from my cat yesterday. These birds have places they seem to perch regularly... like, if the bird is around, it will be at one of 3 or 4 perches.. This one was on one of the regular places I see it/them.
  21. these folks will do ya right. If they say it's good... it's good I bought my system sight unseen... no audition. I wanted a kick butt stereo....on a tight budget got what I have under budget from the Garage Sale section of these forums
