Even with ATI's terrible beta drivers it still outperforms the GF4TI4600 by a large margin. Even if you hate ATI you have to admit the 9700 is a better card. Even in a benchmark that was made for nvidia cards the 9700 doubled the GF4's scores.

  4. quote: Originally posted by klipguy: well you better return your RSW 15 because it only has a measly 650W power , not 1000W as they stated earlier when the sub came out , they changed all the power outputs of there subs go figure? for the money your spending on that sub, definative has a 10" sub that has more power than the 15" Klipsguy, even if the RSW-15 did just have 650 watts of power it wouldnt matter. As people have said counless times, just because something has less watts doesnt mean it's worse (although the SVS CS-ULTRA is much more powerful then the RSW-15 due to its sonotube design and great driver). PWK's speaker designs could run off of just 3 "measly" watts of power but would blow away some of today's stuff that uses over 100.
  5. quote: Originally posted by klipguy: well if its just a change in a diffrent standard how they measure WATTS as you say "FTC" I hope all other companys do the same or else klipsch will loose some costomers, i would not of paid the money i did for my RSW 15 for 650W when the VELODYNE HGS 15" was not far off,at 1250W and 3000W peak same as there 18" .... Just because it has more watts doesnt mean that it will perform better. A SVS CS-ULTRA with only 500 watts could blow away either sub. I don't think klipsch would loose any customers because im sure most people that buy their subs know that there are a lot more important things than Watts. The RSW-15 sounds better (musically) than the Velodyne but im not sure about how they compare when it comes to SPL.
  6. After reading this article ( http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/general/messages/14476.html ) I think the stereophile editor doesn't quite understand doppler distortion. In PWK's horn designs the speaker cones dont move back and forth as far because the horn allows them to create a loud sound without moving as much. Therefor they would have LESS doppler distortion then other speaker types.
  7. People around here pay like $20 unless their lawns are huge or full fo junk you need to mow around. Also they seem to only need them mowed about once a month. Some people just let their lawns grow the whole summer . Im pretty sure it would be easier to mow one of those huge lawns on a tractor then a smaller one with my junky old push mower.
  8. Im currently mowing lawns but there just arent that many around here. I do some work for my neighbor to but I only do like 1 lawn a week. There a lot more kids that need lawns to mow areound here than there are lawns that need mowing.
  9. This pair http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1361398825 sold recently for $800 and they look to be in good condition. Thats the only low priced pair I've seen. On audiogon people are asking over $1500 for them.
  10. Now that ive finally saved up some cash im starting to search for a pair of used La Scalas to start of my HT. There arent any on ebay, the ones on audiogon are WAY to expensive, and there arent any on Ubid. Are there any other places to look for them? Newspapers and such around here never have anything good in them. Has anyone else here had much luck trying to find them? Im hoping to get a pair for a reasonable price (under $800) by the end of the summer.
  11. I just read 17 pages of people laughing at pictues of red Xs. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PICTURES??? I even right clicked the Xs and selected show picture but still no luck? If it was good enough for 17 pages it must be pretty darn funny! Please re-post them or something.

I mean, what constitutes something so 'technical' that it can't be handled by the 2 Channel Forum Let's see, Yesterday I jamming on some 'Godsmack' and my SVS was pumping so much air it blew one of my RF7's over into my tube amp. When I tipped the RF7 back over, I found that one of the RCA Cleartops had dislodged out of the amp and was now protruding out of one of the woofers. I don't know what to do. If I pull the tube out of the woofer, there will be a hole, but I really need that tube for my amp. Jeesh -- I need to go to bed Ive been going to this forum for a while and just "discovered" this area 2 days ago .

And I have no compatibility problems, and don't have to use L337 Linux skeelz whenever I need to install a program. Oh, and I have endless gaming possibilities and laugh when I see what's offered for the Mac. Not wanting to sound like a Windows zombie/user, but those are simply cold hard facts. Ever tried installing a .tar file in linux? Even a geek like me has a hard time.
  14. You guys are lucky. Since im only 13 the jobs I can get are either so hard they arent worth it or they dont pay enough.
  15. quote: Originally posted by JasN00b: well today i went into take 5 audio, a high end store (but doesnt carry any klipsch ) and listened to some 12,000 dollar speakers. my friends 20 year old herseys totaly blew them outta the water, both in volume and sound. they also had some speakers for 40,000 dollars, but didnt get to listen to them. not only that but they also carried some 70 grand speakers, but didnt get to listen to those either eh i still dont think they could measure up to klipsch. Even if the Heresys didnt sound better than the $40k speakers just imagine if you were comparing them to higher end Klipsch speaker like Cornwalls or Klipschorns .
  16. What is a good HT receiver for under $1000? I'm looking for something with at least 100 watts per channel. Im going to be using Cornwalls for mains, KLF-C7 center, and Heresys for surrounds. I want it to support Dolby digital.
  17. 1. IM currently saving up money for Cornwalls. 2. Probably 13 3. 13 4. Because they are cheaper and they sound better. 5. Klipschorns, because they are the best. 6. yes
  18. Ive seen Academys on ebay but they seem to always be sold in pairs (Im sure someone would buy one from me if i got two ). I have the whole summer to search for them so I bet Ill find something.
  19. I didnt realize the KLF-30s were so new (1996-2001). Since it will be hard to find them for $500 ill just get cornwalls.
  20. Im thinking of either buying cornwalls or KLF-30s for my HT system. I have heard good things (and bad things) about both of them. I think the KLF-30s meet my needs better than the Cornwalls but how is their sound different? KLF-30s are said to be good for rock and roll and are said to have a lot of "slam" so I'm sure they would be great for music and movies. Also how much can I get a used pair of them for (is it possible to get them for around $500)?
  21. In the "classic" section of the klipsch site it says that the academy is the matching center for the cornwalls. Im sure a heresy would do a better job but I think its a bit big to put on the top of my tv.
  22. Lol, just imagine what a pair of cornwalls bolted to my wall would look like . I guess heresys would be ok
