  1. Hi All, I hearing some funkiness coming from my '86 CWs, and one of tweeters stopped working. If I Ohm test all my speakers what is the acceptable range I should be looking for, in the 5 range? If a tweeter is bad is that mean the driver is bad or is the diaphragm bad? This confuses me. THanks in advance. bob
  2. Folks, I prefer my Solid State AV for all my HT and my Tube Amp for music. Can these two strange bed fellows co-exist? I devised this method (on paper). I guess my question is, will it work? Please leave comments.
  3. Just curious if anyone has modified their Cornwalls for XLR grounded connectors on their CWs. Does it make any difference in sound/noise floor that is audible?
  4. I currently don't have any tube gear other than my Guitar Amp that could be used as an audiophile amp. It's a Carvin Tube 100 ( 100 watt head). I also have a Fischer FM100 tuner. Other than that my other gear is FET 1000 watt solid state amp. My center speaker is Klipsch Academy with the Bob Crites Titanium tweeter upgrade.
  5. Thanks. THey work great. Anybody have an idea what it would cost to have someone put a veneer on these speakers? I don't have the skill for that.
  6. I just acquired a pair of circa 1980s vintage LaScalas. THey are pretty beat up. Just curious on any tips on restoring them? WHat year are they actually? b
  7. anyone know what the port design is? Also, the model of the Woofer, K-43, K-33? Are the horns the same as on a Cornwall? If not, what are they?
  8. Anyone have a detailed drawing of the internal /external dimensions of the CW 2? I'm restoring a set of CW 2 Cabs that were damaged in a fire. I need a detailed set of drawings that I can hand off to a cabinet maker so that he can build the speakers for me. So far, I've been unable to find a set of drawings that are suffice to build from. Best, bob
  9. anyone have the T/S parameters for K-43 woofer used on the Klipsch Cornwall II?
  10. Deang- Just curious, do they list the parameter for the K-43? If so, could you please post it here. THe guy I bought my cornwalls from replaced the K-33's with K-43's and I'm trying to figure out the difference between the two. THanks, bob
  11. Does anyone have the T/S parameters for K-33 woofer used on the Klipsch Cornwall II?
  12. Yes, I'd love to get the drawings from you if possible. Let me know. Best, bob
  13. I'd like to re-do my grills in CW II with the new grill cloth that Klipsch is using on the CW 4's. Does anyone know if Klipsch sells it and for how much?
  14. Let me know if you know where some are? Preferably in California.
  15. I have K43's in my Cornwall's. I was thinking of swapping them out for K-33 pros? Anyone game?
  16. Anyone on this forum have access to software that can calculate how large my bass ports should be based upon the internal volume of my Cab? Should the bass port just be a round hole of a certain size or should be a rectangle? Also, should it have an adjustable plastic port? see https://www.parts-express.com/Port-Tube-2-1-2-ID-Adjustable-260-386
  17. Anyone on this forum have access to software that can calculate how large my bass ports should be based upon the internal volume of my Cab?
  18. Boy, those bass ports are huge ... estimate 4"?
  19. Does anyone know what the difference is between these two woofers and what actual MODEL speakers they were originally installed into as stock speakers?
  20. Should I increase the size of the ports on these speakers for greater Bass response?
  21. yes, , a little. I need some ideas on how to add more bass to these speakers.
  22. Not enough bass. THe bass is anemic. THe high-end is crisp. I put titanium diaphrams which was a big improvement. THe components are: Mid = K-57 (3545) Tweeter = K-79 (8544) K-43 woofer Wondering if I should put bass port tubes that are adjustable to experiment with getting better bass? https://www.parts-express.com/Port-Tube-2-ID-Adjustable-260-387
  23. I bought them resized smaller from a guy . THey were damaged in a fire.
  24. nickyboy6100 - yeah, I can see how you say they look like 301's. THere is bracing that goes from front-to-back ebtween the mid and the woofer. It has a solid back. You have to remove the woofer to get access to inside the speaker. My question is would it make any difference if I moved the ports to the bottom, below the woofer? I have no idea. Or, would it be better to just ENLARGE the ports I already have? -bob
