  1. Wow. I had no idea how unsightly those cables and FM antenna wires look. I have more than just bass problems. Now I'm thinking of that new molding which will hide that ugly wiring.
  2. By that, are you saying to put one on top another? I just picked up the GoldenEar and put it on the HSU. I will try that shortly and let you know. Thank you very much.
  3. I just love that breeze when the temps are up. I don't care how warm it gets. Anything is better than living in the cold.
  4. My left hearing aid just "chimed" in. That tells me I need a new battery.
  5. LOL!!! Where do you come up with this stuff?
  6. I just got one of my Cruise Books out from the 70's and was looking through it. I can assure you, I was there. I now look at those dancers and don't quite find them as attractive now. OMG!! Just thinking......I joined the military 50 years ago!!! I don't feel anywhere near that old.
  7. He sounds like a good guy to have while there.
  8. I used to know all the "right" places. The only one I remember is a club called "The Lollipop". The dancers there were really dolled up and absolutely beautiful.
  9. LOL!! I still occasionally do the rustic style nose blow...........and my wife has broken me of doing it in a restaraunt.🤢
  10. During my career in the Navy, I made several WestPac cruises aboard the carrier Ranger. Hawaii was my absolute favorite place to visit. I almost always stayed at the Ft Derussy Hotel in Honolulu. Drinks were very inexpensive there and I pounded down a lot before heading out into town. Thant was a long time ago and I don't even kknow if it's still there.
  11. For me, going to a local Publix store and seeing people wearing heavy winter clothing would be very strange. Not only that, you could get shot here if you walked into a business while wearing a balaclava. I loved mine while I was out snowblowing the driveway. Previous home had a 1300' long driveway and it went about straight up with two switch backs. I plowed it with a 750i Kawasaki 4 wheeler with chains and a 5' plow. Many times I thought my eyeballs had frozen solid!
  12. I have only had long pants on one time since moving here. Basically it's just shorts and t-shirt for me all year long.
  13. Currently 67 degrees here and where you are must be around 60, give or take a few. When my wife and I moved here fro north central PA, we basically left everything behind including the snow blowers, snow shovels and all our cold weather gear. I actually miss my old Carhartt insulated overalls. It probably took me ten years to break them in. I operated a coal fired fired power plant and there were washing machines available to use. I would bring those overalls in all the time and wash them non stop trying to soften them up. Maybe I should have put in some gravel during the heavy duty cycle.
  14. Good morning everyone! I am posting here to request a little help a little help regarding my HT system. In my previous home I had a 15' x 22' family room and had my home theater system in it. My local audio dealer installed and set up everything. Being a "bassaholic", I had four HSU VTF-15H Mk II subwoofers in the system. The bass was amazing! It would punch you in the gut and part your hair but still sound great with just two channel music. Now my new home has a very open floor plan. The current set up has the living room, kitchen, dining room, family room and very long foyer all in the same 'room'. I now have two of the HSU subs and two new GoldenEar super subs. The family room is open on two sides and since setting up my system, I have nowhere near the bass that I had previously. I have moved all four subs everywhere in the room without much luck. Sure, I have bass but, I no longer get that 'amazing physical feeling' that was there when watching action movies. I am sure all you great people know about the feeling you get when your systems bass is dead on. It scares you when it is. I don't think that I am doing anything wrong in my set up............the bass just isn't there. Any ideas? I do have two more powered sub's if that might help. I am open to suggestions. I thank all of you for reading this post and maybe giving me some tips.
  15. The average temperature at this time of year here on the Gulf Coast of central Florida is 74 degrees. If it ever dropped to -25 to +25, my wife and I would be in trouble. We do not have any cold weather attire. My warmest piece of clothing is my 'Kimber' hoodie. No gloves, no jackets, no boots, nothing at all for your kind of weather. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, it's cold where you live.
  16. I saw those 20 foot waves on 'World News Tonight' with David Muir. Is that what sank the Edmund Fitzgerald in '75? I know, wrong lake, huh? Hope you got warmed up after that adventure. When I got up at 5:00am this morning it was 42 degrees here in Land O Lakes, FL.
  17. Oh my that looks cold! I am in Florida with a 62 degree day and I'm freezing outside!!!! I do love the photo. Thanks for reminding me why I moved south.
  18. I have to agree with you on recommending the XSP-1. I currently have this preamp in my system and have found it to be exactly what I needed and having to use a screw driver to change a few settings on the back is just part of my addiction to audio. Basically it's just set it and forget it, until you upgrade your subs or speakers. With my military veteran's discount, I purchased the XSP-1 for $1079.10, no tax and free shipping.
  19. On 16 February I purchased a pair of RF-7 speakers from a private seller in Tampa, Florida. I purchased all new woofers from the Speaker Exchange and have finished the cabinets and installed the new woofers. So, I have the original woofers and would like to try selling them to a fellow Forum member. The woofers have some dents in the dust caps and one woofer has a small hole in the outside of the rubber surround which the Speaker Exchange said could be repaired very easily. One woofer looks perfect with no dents or dings and two of the woofers have a few dents in the cone itself. I listened to these speakers for half an hour before buying them and they sounded very good and I had not removed the grill covers to look at the woofers. I would like to get $100 each plus shipping from Land O Lakes, Florida 34639.
  20. Sounds good. I will check into listing them here first. I recently renewed my ebay account and I was not given my old account back, so I'm starting at zero. I had close to 400 sales on there with a 100% feedback score. The first negative I received over something that I felt was really silly.....I quit. Maybe I jumped the gun a little. It actually had to do with a $1500 center channel speaker which had those round soft rubber stick on's to prevent scratching. Well, hell's bells, one of those rubber feet had the audacity to move and left a little glue trail and this buyer was upset. Whatever. Hey, have a great night. I'm getting a shower and going to bed.
  21. That would be great because I initially thought these speakers were a little harsh in the upper frequencies. Thanks for the information!
  22. If you look at the second woofer from the bottom, there is a small hole in the rubber surround. The rest of the woofers have some dents in the dust caps and in the cone itself. I listened to these speakers for about 30 minutes (Eagles live on a DVD) and they actually sounded quite good. I am just picky about my stuff (my wife calls it OCD) and right from the start I wanted new woofers. Any idea on what I should ask for these? I would rather post them for sale on this web site if I can even though I just opened an ebay account.
