  1. Were I you I would have to seriously consider the McIntosh MA252 tube hybrid integrated. It's quite affordable and would give you a taste of that sweetness that tubes bring to the party. In my completely biased opinion Klipsch Heritage + tubes is an absolute must. Once you try them you'll never go back to pure SS. When I first got my Klipschorns many years ago I was in the same boat as you. Powering them with a TOTL SS Yamaha receiver. Had never tried tube amplification before. Ignorance was truly bliss. I finally bit the bullet and bought a vintage MC240. Quickly realized that tubes were a complete revelation. Loved what I heard and thought surely more power would be better. Bought an MC275. Immediately preferred the MC240 so I quickly parted ways with the MC275. At that time a lot of the guys here in the 2-channel arena were running their Heritage with super low powered SET amps like the old 2A3 Moondogs so I thought let's go the opposite direction. Bought a pair of MC30 monoblocks and the rest is history. Sold the MC240 and I'm still running the MC30s to this day. Believe me. If you're willing to invest up to $5k on some new gear, and give tube amplification a shot, you'll sit back and laugh as soon as the first track plays realizing just how much you were missing. That Onkyo will never be able to show you what your CWIVs are truly capable of.
  2. The Cornwall sounds more dynamic and in your face while the JBL comes across as more tonally accurate and natural. I slightly prefer the 4367 but can't even begin to justify them being 2.5x the price of the Cornwall.
  3. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130366731088&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT How much do you guys think these will go for in the end?
  4. Tubes > Solid State when it comes to the Khorns, and especially when it comes to McIntosh. Try a well sorted pair of the MC30 monoblocks, or even an MC225 or MC240, and you'll be floored by the difference.
  5. Hi jwcullison, I just recently moved to the Atlanta area from Houston, TX and would love to come along if there is still room. I'm located in the Alpharetta area. Please let me know if you can accomodate me either via PM or in this thread. I will be checking it. Best, Ryan
  6. Did you'll forget about the wooden audio knob? It's hard to beat transportation but this baby adds extra dynamics like you wouldn't believe. http://www.referenceaudiomods.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=NOB_C37_C&Category_Code=VOLUME&Product_Count=2
  7. Yeah does anyone have more information on these? I tried searching through the archives and couldn't find much. They look crazy with the double driver action.
  8. Clarence...as in the Fifth Beatle? The one they kicked out for having all of the good ideas? How have you been since then? Are you still writing music?
  9. Yeah I was thinking about that as well. Possibly one for Stereo, one for Mono, and the third for 78's?
  10. I am in awe of this Japanese man's collection and just had to share it with all of you. http://shu-ks.com/zakki/0aoyagitei.html
  11. The lesson is...... There's still a Crown out there with your name ALL over it - and for WAY less $$$. [] ...that won't have the magic that tube rectified MC-30's have. So....keep looking for those 30's meagain. I'll never sell my pair and was actually hoping to add these to my collection as well but my attempt to contact Kevin was late.

  13. I can't quite figure out how to PM on this board but would like to ask you a few questions regarding the amps. Would you please email me at the following address so that I may reply back: ryan606@hotmail.com Thanks.
