Yes I currently have Forte iiis and rotate them with a pair of JBLs. The Cornwalls would replace the Fortes.

Someone is looking/listening to them Friday, so I'm #2. Trying to be informed in case the other party passes.

Hello... I am looking as a buyer at a local sale of an original owner pair of Cornwall 1s. I have not seen them yet but they appear to be in very very good shape. The listing describes them as Cornwall IIs purchased in 1983, but visually they appear to be late Cornwall 1s (back mounted drivers, and three bottom ports rather than two). Trust me I am no Klipsch expert. Currently I rotate thru a pair of JBL L100s and Forte iiis, using a Primaluna Prologue Premium Integrated amp. Realizing the Cornwalls are 40 years old would it be a downward move buying vs the Fortes? I wouldn't keep both. I'm an audio lover not a flipper. If I bought the Cornwalls I would service the crossovers if needed etc. I don't listen to classical, jazz, or country. I am a rocker....Floyd, Dire Straights, Supertramp, Alice in Chains, Tool etc. I just would hate to pass on a nice pair of original owner Cornwalls...but I don't want to make a lateral or downward move. Help....

Yep Schiit Loki. People that have them seem to like em. I have settled in to life without tone controls. Even tho I'm running your EVO 400's little brother, it does everything I need it to do for now, but I can see an EVO 400 in my future. I am a Primaluna convert thanks to you guys. I almost love looking at it as much as listening to it haha. From Tidal MQA Donald Fagen to Tool flac to Floyd vinyl it just doesn't disappoint

Somewhat related and not related. For giggles, I swapped my Fortes out with my JBL L100s to see if the Primaluna would drive them. The Prologue's 35 watts drove them quite well and they sounded pretty pretty nice. No loss of window rattling either. In reference to the above, I always found the JBLs more forgiving on crappier source material (not shocking). Life after Fortes was seeking out the best source material for the best listening experience.

Upscale has a speaker setup disc that folks seem to like. Unfortunately they don't sell it, they give it out as a freebee if you purchase speakers from them. Does anyone use a similar product you like that is available? Thanks, ted

JoeJoe I have read nothing but good things about the Topping D90 MQA. There are two D90 versions. The non MQA @$699 and the MQA @$799. Unfortunately, these are seldom discounted and seldom seen on the secondary market. The Topping is on my wish list. My current listening is generally 70% Tidal HD streaming and 30% vinyl. My current DAC is Arcam irDac, which I have had for a few years. The irDac is not MQA compatible. However I do have an Aurender N100h which does a partial MQA unfold. I am extremely happy and often shocked with what I end up hearing at my ear drums. (Using Primaluna Prologue Premium integrated amp and Forte iiis)

The eagle has landed. You guys were right, no need for that loudness button. This is my first experience with tube gear, so imagine my surprise to experience the volume and bass thrown from a 30 watt amplifier. I have read a lot about the differences between tube power and solid state power, but until you actually experience it, it's kind of hard to believe. My Marantz separates were fun and served me well, but I'm a Primaluna convert now. Thanks for your help guys. ted

Hello... I have a new integrated amp on the way without a phono stage. I have gone thru paralysis by analysis trying to decide on a phono stage. I have an Arcam irDAC that I have been happy with for the last few years. The Arcam rPhono is discontinued but I can pickup a new one for $350. I'm not ready to go crazy with my first phono stage so I like to keep it $500 or less. Using an Ortofon 2M Bronze. Thanks...

Ok...baby steps...I bought a gently used (50 hrs) PrimaLuna Prologue Premium and it should be here this weekend. I got it for what I believe was a good price, so if it works out for me, I can trade up to an EVO 300 or 400.

Great thread. Simple question. I currently run my Forte iiis with a Marantz 250 and Marantz 3300. I have never owned a line pre without tone controls in my life. Frankly, I am apprehensive about the EVO 300/400 investment and giving up the loudness button that I have grown quite accustomed to (I know I know haha). In honesty, my tone controls are generally always flat, but I am a rocker and a loudness button junkie of sorts. Did any of you miss those options when you went Primaluna? ted

Not gonna lie...one of the first tracks I played after hooking them up was Invincible off Fear Inoculum (FLAC). I teared up a little lol.
