  2. Make sure your TV audio is configured to output PCM stereo. And I totally agree with you in regards to Amazon Music, it has come a long way in regards to curated playlists. Probably half of my 40 BlueOS presets on my NAD M10 are configured for Amazon Music playlists.
  3. You're welcome, while I can't speak directly regarding the NAD C700, there are a couple of user reviews over at Crutchfield.com for it that might be worth a read. I've owned a NAD M10 since Feb 2019 connected to a pair of non-meta KEF LS50's and I'm a big fan of BlueOS. It has it's quirks but what software doesn't. And if you decide on a NAD C700 don't forget about the Bluesound RC1 remote, I have it as well.
  4. I would have never noticed until I read your message but mine do too. Although I would call it sloppy QC instead of "by design". I can hear a slight rubbing sound from both actually when turning them, seems to come from the front right side on both, as if they were mounted on a slight diagonal instead of perpendicular to the slot. But like I said I have never noticed it before so it didn't bother me. When I first looked at them and even looking at the picture you don't see it, or at least I didn't. It's only when I was looking straight down and turning them that I noticed.
  5. Looks like there is a new firmware version available, Version: 5.8.0 released: 06/11/2021. Just follow these steps; https://www.klipsch.com/firmware?product=115490 Pre-requisites You will need a USB thumb drive to complete the update. Installation Click the Download Firmware button. Extract the contents of the ZIP file. Make sure there are no existing files on the thumb drive. It must be blank to perform the update. Copy the three extracted files to the root directory of the USB thumb drive. Unplug power from The Fives. Insert the USB thumb drive into the back of The Fives. Reconnect AC power to The Fives. After a few moments, the update cycle will start. You will see various LEDs lighting up. This takes about 2 minutes. Do not interrupt the process. When the process is complete, the lights will stop flashing, and you should be able to change the volume. Remove the USB thumb drive from The Fives. The update is complete.
  6. On the The Fives there should be no difference between the Optical & USB connections, both support up to 192kHz/24-bit decoding according to some of the online reviews. Use whichever one you are the most comfortable with. -Skip
  7. The HDMI port on The Fives is an HDMI-ARC port which has to be connected to another HDMI-ARC port. I've never seen an HDMI-ARC port on a PC but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I'm guessing that's what your problem is. ARC is "Audio Return Channel" and HDMI-ARC ports on powered speakers and soundbars are meant to connect to your TV's HDMI-ARC port to send the audio from your TV to the speakers. Check the specs for your Win10 PC to see if it has an HDMI-ARC port or HDMI only. -Skip
  8. It's not the remote, I get the same results whether I use my Roku remote or my Samsung TV remote or my Google TV remote. It was so bad when I had The Fives connected via HDMI ARC that I would change TV channels standing near the The Fives so I could use the volume knob on the speaker to raise of lower the volume as needed since it was much faster that way. I suspect the problem is with the DSP implementation in The Fives since the HDMI ARC spec is pretty much standard across the board. I'm hoping it can be fixed with a firmware update because even though I prefer the sound of The Fives I've had to go back to using my soundbar since the sudden volume changes were too much to deal with.
  9. Ditto what wetowne said about the Chromecast Audio (CCA), it works well with The Fives for Tidal and pretty much any of the other streaming services. It doesn't support MQA but honestly I doubt that you would be able to hear the difference on The Fives. If you want MQA support then I would recommend a BlueSound Node 2i.
  10. Same here, I was hoping to replace my Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar with the Fives, I use my Roku remote but the results were the same. Any time I needed to change the volume level I found that I had to hold down the volume up/down buttons a lot longer than before, not only that I found that I was constantly changing the volume level every time I changed channels. It was so annoying that I stopped using them. I'm hoping that Klipsch can correct this with a firmware update but there hasn't been a new update in awhile. -Skip
