  1. WOW!! that is the SAME problem i had with my RSW-10 just a few weeks ago!! after playing with it for hours--changing fueses, just connecting it to the power--i returned and i am waiting a new one!! F'in sucks man!!
  2. no...it does NOT show any graphics of the vol going down/up.....i think its my DVD player...cuz when i play a dvd on my PS2 it sounds fine even when i used the denon...this dvd player is giving me a lot of problems--4 years old--one of the "first" generation dvd players....i really need a new one....
  3. Hey, iam having problems with my HT...during movies the volume of the sound goes up and down every few mintues or so...is there something wrong with my denon 3802? some advice please! thanks
  4. kool thanks, whats the point of the polarity though? i am gonna leave it to 0--i guess. If i enable lowpass i can use the knob to control the frequency right? or do i have to disable it to use the knob? thanx man
  5. hi, On my RSW-10 sub, there is the dial that goes from 40-120 for frequncy. Now, what does that mean? what if i put it at 80 or 90 or 100? can someone PLEASE explain it to me--and what is the best setting for it. Furthermore, what is that switch that says disable LFE mode and enable lowpass? And the other switch that says polarity 180 and 0. please explain this to me since i am new to this HT stuff. what should i put the settings to? I am using a single subwoofer cable that goes from my denon 3802 sub-preout to the RSW line in. thanks!
  6. yeh, if you want to get a MD player, get a sony--no ifs' no buts.' Depending on the $$$ you want to spend--NetMD players range from 100-400. The newest puppy is the sony N10. I have the sony N1 and it kicks fricken ***! There is not a lot of difference between them. You could also try the cheaper models-505, 707, S1-- all sony! The S1 looks really good--but has a cheap feel to it I recommand the 707 or the N1. DONT get the 505 or at least not the now --the N10--really not worth paying 380 for it. Only has a few extra features than the N1--like 2mm smaller: now come on! are u really gonna notice that? heres a few links: http://minidisco.com/ AWESOME PLACE but blanks are expensive here http://www.minidisc.org/ GOOD PLACE http://www.minidiscussion.com/ http://www.mdclassifieds.com/ http://www.t-station.net/ GOOD PLACE
  7. not the hbb...its a little pricy for my blood...heres the link: http://www.tapeandmedia.com/Mini_Disc.asp i buy the MDW80P - Sony Premium Gold--at a whopping buck 54 a disc!!! awesome!!
  8. with all the new MD players that now have the type R and Type S reocrding, MD sound better than any MP3 player--if you are transfering from CDs, tapes etc. For example, if you transfer a 192kb track on a MP3 player and the same on a MD player, they will sound similar--but a cheap *** MP3 player might sound ****ty--man, go with a MD player that has NetMD funtion and you will never look back! I buy REALLY good blank MDs from blankmedia.com 1.54$ for the gold standard! one of the best blanks around; no kidding.
  9. Dude, go with minidisc! I have been on MD's for years now--i started with the sony R91, then R900, then N1. NetMD is a great feature in new MD's--you can fit up to 5 hours on a single disc! at a transfer rate of up to 64X--takes me about 15 min to put about 2-3 hrs on a disc. Yeh a little slower than USB 2 or 1394 but MD are sooo much better sounding, last longer, discs are cheap, etc. GO MD MAN!
  10. I said "bye-bye" sony a few years ago...now it's all hello "denon, klipsch, krell..." you get the idea
  11. thats what i thought, for some odd reason when i put my reiever to DTS it gets no signal! i have to set it to AUTO.. I think its my dvd player--its about 4 years old! Better go buy the denon 1600 or the panny R91. thanks for the help!
  12. anybody know how i can get a DTS signal? Do i need just a digital cable or regular audio cables going from my dvd to reciever? thx
