  1. A Blistery Cold Christmas Morning in Odessa TX.
  2. Watched this one this morning In between power outages..... interesting story line, excellent ultra subterranean rumble.....
  3. This one arrives today, the original film's cinematography was outstand, can't wait to see this version...
  4. This was the first movie we saw right after I put our dual SVS PB16's into service.... Not the greatest story line but subs absolutely rattled the caliche out back....
  5. I just recently saw this movie and what blew my mind is how the cinematographer captured the movie. Being photographer myself, the way the perspective of how it was film was outstanding .....
  6. Good Day all to you Audioholics.... Looking to build a suitable stand for my literally brand new RS-7's. I made some for my previous surrounds but when I got my RS-3's, they were undersized and I would find them the ground after the cats were horsing around the house. My wife bought me some metal stands for the RS-3's so those now secured. I was thinking having some metal stands for the RS-7's out of 3/16" thick wall 3" square tubing from a local metal fab friend of mine but not sure if the cost of the material will be more than going with some 2X12's for base and top with some 2X6's for the uprights. No way to mount them on the wall based upon my room configuration or should I say I could but I could just imagine my gang of six cats wanting to kick back on top of them. What have you done for surrounds & rears as far as stands goes? Do you have any pics to share with me ? On a side note, as I was driving into the office this morning over these iced over roads in West Texas, since I plan on placing the rears directly behind in the middle of the sofa seating areas, if I laid the rears on their backs with the sound radiating upwards, would I be out of mind for thinking this idea ? 🤪
  7. Bill, We will see when it arrives next week..... I need to stay of the boards, I've spent a small fortune in the past month....
  8. Just purchased a Acurus A125 x 5 in Mint Condition, still hasn't arrived yet but I am pretty excited about it. Going to tap into the Denon X4700 with it. Oh and I forgot to mention the two SVS PB16 Ultra's to round up my little HT project.
  9. Thanks CECAA850, I've been searching hi & lo and with what I discovered is that the RF-5's is what I would call my youngest daughter a "Hybrid" in that she has all the traits of her Mom and older sister but extraordinary flare. LOL I do love how they sound and finally completing my own Holy-Trinity with the RC-7 with the mod, RS-7, (& RS-3's for the rear) I couldn't be happier said no man ever that has become an audioholic.... I've waited for over 25 years to get Klipsch's product and it's been so worth the wait and now I have the perfect wife who supports my hobbies and who also tells me to "TURN IT UP" !!!!!
  10. Thank You Sadie45.... Haven't found much more on this question....
  11. Thanks Bud, so do I still change the setting on receiver to preamp and just plug the rears in and let it rip ?
  12. Hey Bill, Thank you the reply, I had noticed that OP hadn't been on since 2019 but was hoping someone would chime in. Now, I am thinking of adding a couple RS7's to the system, I've been reading up on the manual of the X4700 and from what I understand when running the A125, I would change the setting to "preamp" so the Acurus would run the 5 channels. If I add the RC3's making it 7.1 instead of 5.1 as my rears and plug them into the X4700, with the receiver acknowledge the rear channels and send power to them since I changed the settings to preamp? My viewing area is relatively small 15'x15' and my TV including the front's "LCR" are 15' from my sitting area.... By adding the RS7's am I adding something more than needed ? I know this subjective to everyone's own opinion but would like some insight on this... Thanks again.... Albert
  13. Just came across your post, just purchased a near mint Acurus A125 to mate with my Denon X4700... Interested to hear more about your set up... I am running the same RF5's and RC7, and RS3's for the surrounds
  14. Good Afternoon, I just recently purchased this RC-7 that has this crossover mod installed, I have not received it yet and could not tell you what my expectations are since I have not heard the RC-7 before but everyone was suggesting to get the RC-7 to best match my RF-5's. I've searched the forums and all I happen to find are topics of the RF-7+'s with the crossover mods. Is there any reason if I should or can this mod be done to the RF-5's? Thanks in advance for your input Albert
  15. Hey There, I am with you, have found any more out on this? I just purchased a RC7 with this crossover mod and since I have never heard the RC7 before before or after the mod. Not sure what to expect.
  16. The only you can power the subs through the power amp would be if the subs were passive and not powered.
  17. Gary, On my X4700, it has 2 sub outs as well as all the other 9 channels and bi-amped for 11 channels.
  18. If I believe I'm correct, you don't use a separate power amp to run your subs since they have their own dedicated amplifiers built in already.
  19. Thank you for this helpful tip... I will continue to AudioGon to see what pops up....
  20. Well, it sounds pretty darn good now but then again, I've only had the new receiver and the SVS PB16 Ultra in service since this past weekend. My ears are getting dialed in as well as the settings on my sub to accommodate my viewing area. I know watching streaming movies vs UHD Blue rays will always sound different and I have yet had the chance to play a movie but plan on doing so this weekend. Since the receiver is "rated for 125W into 2 channels driven" this isn't a true indication on how much power wattage is going to the speakers and manufactures will not give us the true data but I am pretty sure it is not 125 watts into 9 channels and it was true, the chassis of the receiver would be twice the size and 80 lbs. heavier than it is now. Most of my listening is 80% movies 20% music and I am not watching the movies at reference levels but my thought process would seem to indicate that at reference levels, you would need some power to get the most out of my speakers as I was told on this forum when I purchased my RF5's that I shouldn't wimp on power because these speakers love to be driven and that has been in the head ever since which is why I am thinking that I "need" that extra power.
  21. Hey Gary, Let me rephrase it, while the X4700 is perfect, I wanted more power to drive the speakers by adding an amplifier to the X4700. I am not sure if the amp would add a color character to the sound output such as bright, warm, middy in tone or am I such a newb that I have no idea what I am talking about ?..🤪 Also with what amps I have looking at, they seem to be 15-20 yrs old and would buy such an older amp would cause issues with caps and resistors leaking down the road? (Acurus A125 - Sunfire Cinema - Adcom GFA7000 - B&K Reference 200-5 Rotel RBM1075) or would I be better off with a New Outlaw 5000 ? a
