  1. In the house is a bunch of Mcintosh stuff, and smaller Forte II's ....
  2. I have both La Scala's now!! One sits on the south side of my garage where there's plenty of room, and one sits on the north side, where there is zero room. My solution was to section the bottom out of a existing 24" x 24" x 96" cabinet on the north wall and shove the La Scala in there...... as well as the Sanaui AU-9500. It all fits wonderfully, and sounds nuts!! Thankyou PWK!!! I
  3. Is there anywhere online to browse and read these great articles? Here is a sample of what I'm looking for... Thanks http://assets.klipsch.com/files/Dope_751205_v15n5.pdf?fbclid=IwAR1Ms9CqvpCCjwVZyz7bMf_6prkdV9cguw8y3DyOLk4le8j-bMQfiyFSbi8
  4. OK La Scala experts... I have a question. In a online video shot at the Klipsch factory , they show a woofer being installed in the dog-house, and then in the next shot, they show a guy shoving in a big hunk of acoustical foam in before it gets closed up. I've never seen a foam inside the dog-house of any Klipsch La Scala, or even a La Scala clone, What's the story? Is this something brand new for the AL5?
  5. Wiped it down with Simple Green to get the Spiders, Spider Webs, and Mouse Turds out.... it cleaned up nicely!!
  6. Cheapest, by far. Fed EX wanted $400! A few more transfers than I expected, but it arrived in perfect condition....
  7. Plugged into the shop Stereo..... works perfectly !!
  8. It just arrived! $160 to ship from Ohio to California. Thank you Central Transport!!
  9. Thank you everyone for the advice......
  10. It's here!!! Wow, it sounds Incredible. I took it apart at a friends suggestion and lined the bass bin with Kilmat and put it back together. I'm driving in with a Sansui AU-9500 amp. All the hype is true, it's one of the finest speakers ever made. Shipping from Ohio to California was $180, not bad. I could not be happier, and as a bonus, I found another single Black La Scala in similar condition! Woo-Hoo!!!!
  11. All the factory built La Scala's have these lil' remnants intact. Even when people build clones, they leave them. Do they serve a purpose, or are people just lazy? Seem's easy enough to remove them..
  12. So stoked.... got a La Scala for a great price. Question? Who has experiencing shipping one? Whats best? Boxed, crated, of just strapped to a pallet? What carrier did you use? Going from Ohio to Calif. Thanks!!
  13. Scored a K-401 with a A-55G driver. Woo-Hoo!!!
  14. Great thread!! Quick question.... Most everyone stating the The Kappa 15C is a upgrade are also using a subwoofer. I am not. Is the The Kappa 15C still a good choice? Has anyone ran the The Kappa 15A (8 ohm version) in a La Scala? Thanks everybody! Bob
  15. I've built some La Scala clone cabinets and have gathered up most of the internals, with the exception of the Mid Horns and Drivers. So many ways to go on this one, both from Klipsch and the aftermarket. I'd love to remain with Klipsch ( K-55 driver and K 400 horn) but I've read enough post's that I know I can improve on the original Mid driver / horn combination. What's the latest / greatest hot set up? Thanks in advance.....
  16. Hey everyone... I put some K-604t horns and some K-66-E drivers in my Forte II cabinets in the mid position. These originally were in a "Professional Series" KP-301 II's. So far, I like 'em! They seem less "Shouty", especially at higher volumes ( 90db+) Question? Do I like them because they are better drivers, or being 16 ohm is their output less, making them seem less shouty?
  17. The P/N 128033 driver as used in the Forte III speaker as a midrange driver has been replaced with a new "Generation 2" K-70-G driver, P/N 1068435. Does anyone have any info on the driver, or reason for the swap?
  18. Does anyone have 2 drivers for sale? NEW only please... Thanks
