  1. yes, tomorrow IR2153 will be changed, I saw there was problems in other Klipsch models with this luminescent-lamp invertor cheap-chip solution Funny, but in the bulgarian hi-fi forum old master said to young enthusiast - "don't use this cheap luminescent-lamp chip for the amplifier! it is not designed for the power supply!"
  2. in fact, secondary supply worked too - woofer was in mode auto, and without signal. So, after switch on and signal from the phone - WOOF WOOF twice, and I switched off to check is there warming elements. Then switched again, and fuse EXPLODED(not just burned :) Two IRF740 shorted. I changed 730 to 740, now will return to 730.
  3. Power supply now running, but preamplifier seems to have pb. When it is plugged, secondary (PWM UC3842 driven supply) stops. I made additional board with LEDs showing me what happens. This way, by the phone is easy to find out pb in the future
  4. More tiny boards. One seems to be some power supply. Chips are visible, for reference I start to think - why they put only 3 SMPS's here? WHY THEY DIDN'T PUT 100 SMPS's??? for one amplifier
  5. Control boards for the main invertor, and for the secondary. Chips are visible, for reference
  6. decided to start new topic for SW-110 repair. Thanks to ngen33r for the good explanations. Will post pictures in the begining, cose no success for the moment Fuse was blown, capacitors fried. Previous attempt to fix from unknown - changed only IRF730's on the main inverter, after that capacitors fried. Power inverter is classical half-bridge. Due to my error, it seemed strange topology, but now it is clear. My first idea was, to put snubbers to stop spikes, second idea is, to move changed elements on additional board, not to damage original. Moreover I expect fixes(add elements)
  7. Thank You Dear. What blog is proper for me, boards of sw10 seems close? Please, delete my posts if they are in wrong topic.
  8. Hello Dear. Thank You for the good topic. Started to repair Klipsch sw-110 of my friend. SMPS main electrolytes fried. Replaced. Fried again in a seconds. Made additional board with better capacitors, added RC groups to stop HF(I suppose main electrolytes boiled from the high freq). Now there is no warming of the capacitors, but, seems SMPS not running. Started to draw topology - seems strange to me, not half-bridge, IRF730 connected S-D, D-S, some strange buck - inverter? working on only one of the capacitors? or I'm already blind and stupid :) ... started to search in the net. And... I'm here :) Can You help with some drawing of this model?
