  1. This is a great thread. The carpentry is outstanding. I just love looking at it.
  2. Just to add another voice here, I had a pair of SF-1s that i bought in like 2001. I think they were made in Hope, AR. I enjoyed listening to them for several years. My son now uses them in his HT setup. I think they are decent speakers.
  3. I have actually done some investigation and concluded it 'might' be a good product to use. That is why I am asking here. I’m looking for verification.
  4. Do you follow the instruction on the bottle - 1 galloon water to 1/4 cup of MOS or do you use it straight from the bottle?
  5. I have a pair of Heresy IVs in Natural Cherry which I believe have a satin lacquer finish. I Have read that Murphy’s Oil Soap is safe to use on veneer and can serve as a polish. I am considering using it on my IVs. Does anyone have experience using this product or have any suggestions on how to apply it? Is it safe to use? Any other comments on this subject would be appreciated.
  6. There is also a nice track by Nick Drake called 'Pink Moon' which might be worth a spin.
  7. Here’s what some of us drink in Philadelphia.
  8. Shoot Out The Lights - Richard & Linda Thompson
  9. I just finished reading Beeswing - a memoir by guitarist Richard Thompson. It spans 8 years from 1967 to 1975 and provides some interesting insight into the London music scene in the late 60’s. It’s a thoughtful and a fun read.
  10. Thanks for your response. You have confirmed what I suspected. The best I can do with my current setup is to bi-wire, which I’ve already tried and didn’t hear any noticeable difference,
  11. I am toying with the idea bi-amping my Heresy IVs, but I’m not sure what I need to pull it off. Truth is, I really don’t know what I need. Is there a moderately priced receiver (Tube or SS) which I can purchase to use with a my Yamaha R-N602 stereo receiver? The receive is a workhorse. It’s on 11 or 12 hours a day streaming SiriusXM, Pandora, Net Radio, Apple Airplay or playing CDs. I’m addicted to it. From what I can gather, it seems that the Yamaha may not be able to connect to a second amp for bi-amping, but I’m not really sure. I know the knowledge here is vast. Any info or suggestions would be very appreciated.
  12. I agree with you -- 'sublime' is a good descriptor. If you get the Tibet Almond Stick let us know how it works out.
  13. Welcomed lacquer knowledge, thank you.
  14. Got my first Pfizer shot yesterday. My arm was sore but feeling better today.
  15. What about using Danish Oil? I mean other than Watco.
  16. Hi, I’m relatively new here and I’m sure this topic has been discussed many times on this forum. In late November of last year I received my Heresy IVs in natural cherry. When I unboxed them I was a bit surprised at how light in color they were. After just a few weeks or so I noticed that they seemed to be getting darker. My focus was on how fabulous they sounded as I was re-discovering my music collection but the finish on the cabinets has now become a thing. They keep getting darker, the grain is becoming more prominent and the overall look of veneer is becoming more interesting. I see it as added bonus. Not only are they the best speakers I’ve ever owned but they are visually intriguing. I love them. Here are two photos: the first one taken in late February and the second one taken in late November — three months time difference.
