For those with knowledge of the La Scala speakers....I'm looking at a pair that have had all components replaced with Crite components (speakers,crossovers). How does this compare to the original components?

Hope I don't run into this problem. Bought a pair of the walnut sixes a little over a month ago and have loved how well they sound. I'll probably add a sub in as well....but don't really see the need to run out and get one right now. Anyways....impulses kicked in and I bought a set of the ebony ones as well....seeing as how these are on closeout for $500 everywhere. Figured I could always find a use for a second set.

Wireless is unnecessary for this application. No need to pay the premium there.

I probably will add one. Klipsch claims a frequency response down to 40hz...but I very much doubt that. I'll probably keep looking....as these will be specifically for music. Would really like something clean and punchy.

I guess I need to take a step back. I don't want to add a sub for the hell of it. I'll have to listen to the Sixes when they arrive and determine whether a sub is actually even necessary.

Just for reference.....I am going to be using it with a pair of The Sixes. Definitely lean rock with the music that I listen to....so a nice easy roll into mids of the Sixes would be nice. Also why I am wondering if the 10" would be a little more musical and less boomy.

Does anyone have any opinions on the R-12SW compared to the R-100SW? I guess I can't tell what the difference is between the lines. For example...the R-12SW is $250 regular price compared with $500 for the R-120SW....but the specs appear to be the same. Reason why I ask is because the R-100SW is down to $200 from $400.

After doing a bit more research on the topic.....and being directed back to this forum and topic from six years prior to this thread.....it looks like the K-137 probably IS the recommended replacement tweeter. This refers to the RB-25 speakers rather than the RB-35, but they used the same model tweeter. So if anyone stumbles upon this thread in the future.....it appears that the K-130 was a mistake by Klipsch. Don't overthink the impendence rating. The K-137 is the correct replacement. And I'm finding that the K-137, while still available at some places, was discontinued and replaced by the K-138-O.

Yeah, I saw that. It didn't sound like there was a consensus on whether it's a good replacement or not, since it has an 8-ohm impendence compared to the originals 3-ohm impendence. And if it is going to cause a difference between the left and right if I simply replace the one....at that point I may just have to replace both. That kind of opens up the possibilities. Find something at 4-ohm that more closely matches the original impendence.

Rather than starting a new thread...I have the exact same issue as the OP. I've had these speakers lying around for almost ten years now and decided I could probably put together a decent two channel setup. Problem is that one of the tweeters is completely dead. Same 3-ohm, K130 tweeter. I've sent a message to Klipsch customer service to see if they have any ideas. Otherwise I will probably replace both with a matching pair of low impendence tweeters. Any guidance would be appreciated.
