  1. Sold to the highest - and lowest - bidder of no dollars!
  2. Ding ding ding, winner!!! Send me your address and you got it! I'm happy to be helping with the classroom supplies. We all know schools never have enough of a budget for it.
  3. I hope so. Btw I'm in a full-stack development boot camp right now. Switching to that line of work hopefully this fall. It seems many developers are also audio nerds. The guy who got me into Klipsch is a SQL developer.
  4. Thanks to @Kevmosmith for sending this headphone amp to me for free a few months back. It worked great powering some small bookshelf speakers, but I'm not using it anymore, so as per his request, I'll be passing it along to another member. You will need to provide a standard power cable to go into the brick. Free + $0.00 shipping and handling, same as he did. First person gets it.

  6. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/776826516194299/ Really nice price on some Forte IIs.
  7. Doing some homework in my friend's basement where my CF-4s live until I buy a place of my own in my new home city. Software engineering classes end this fall. I should be pretty hirable then (and have intentionally focused on education now) so I will buy my Klipsches the house they deserve! 😆
  8. My recently-acquired CF4s have just a little bit of space where the black stain has faded away. Can I buy a similar level of gloss black and do some sort of touch up with some light wiping on of thin coats?
  9. Hey all, My dad has some Tandberg TL-3520s he just had refoamed, and he'd like to get some stands for them. He thinks something like the commonly-used tilting stands for the JBL L100s might be nice. Something like this. Anyone know of anything online that's like these stands, at an affordable price? I have seen Deer Creek stands, but they are over $400/pr. image;s=1000x700.webp

  11. Weird how people keep assuming those are the Chorus II. I know the wall has an effect on low end, but I think the 15 inch woofer in the Chorus would create a fatter low end than the CF4, if not quite as low in response.
  12. I think some of you have caught up in the other thread, but here's the update: wuzzzer shared that link with me for the ones in Minnesota, but by 7am the next morning, they were pending sale. That prompted me to do a quick search, as I do once or twice a week, for other sets within 500 miles on Marketplace. And what do you know? A near-mint set in Illinois posted a week ago - they can't still be up for grabs. I sent a message, expecting to hear that they had been sold, but a few minutes later I got a response that they were still available. Long story short I left Minneapolis at 10am, met up with him after work at 5:30, saw a lot of amazing gear in his house, packed up my new haul and got home at 1:45am.
  13. It's the original Chorus. We both love them both, but the CF4s feel more accurate and balanced, whereas the Choruses add some warmth, low end, and very forward high-mid clarity that cause them to sound more exciting and lively, but that same very forward high-mid character is why he has noticed, compared to his Fortes, the Choruses get a little fatiguing after a while. The CF4s are easier to listen to for longer and feel smoother. Overall, we both just kept agreeing there is no wrong answer between the two of them.
  14. Some pics from tonight, now that I've recovered from my 12-hour trip to get them. Much swapping, switching, and general merriment at my friend's house with his Choruses, my new (to me) CF4s, his Marantz 2238B, and my Rotel RX-1052. I just moved back to my home town and am in a small apartment for a few more months, so the CF4s will hang out here until I have the proper space for them. Oh on that note, the CF4s are larger than I expected! I thought they'd be nearly the size of the Choruses, but they're larger in two dimensions. Consecutive serials, made on the 41st day of 1995 - 04159... Grey horns, short port tubes. Clearly version 2, yes? Two VERY different sounding speakers, but both so wonderful.
  15. I'll make sure to post some pics soon. I've been back at work today. CF4s in every color would get expensive! Shoot just one pair isn't cheap. BTW this was my first ever Klipsch purchase.
  16. 2.5 inch port tube, which I assumed was likely based on a 1995 sn. So revision 2. But I was happy to find either revision 1 or 2 in such great shape. I'll see how they sound pretty soon here.
  17. I honestly haven't even looked that hard yet because I still have a few hours of driving left. I just knew they weren't version 3 and I wanted them whether they were 1 or 2.
  18. Indeed. Did you see those on Facebook too?! I don't think the seller is on here. I woke up, saw that I missed a set right near me overnight (sold in hours), checked marketplace since I was on there, was shocked to find those and was on a 12 hour round trip adventure within a couple hours.
  19. Dude, thank you for alerting me to this set that was so quickly pending sale by 7am the next day. There may be...some updates on this developing story. That's all I can say for now. More to come.
  20. When was the version 2 switch? Fall of 95? Are some 95s version 1 before x day of the year? Nevermind all 95s are 2s I see.
  21. Can anyone PM me to help with decoding a sn? Fall of 95 was the switch to v2?
  22. Ugh. Perfect. Already sold. Thank you though, that was the perfect post to alert me to. I will turn on some sort of email notifications for these responses.
