  1. Youth, congrats on the RSW-15, it looks amazing!! Thanks for the review of it's performance, really makes me want one more than ever. If you ever get bored with it let me know . That maple is gorgeous!
  2. Thanks guys for the compliments. I can't stop smiling when I see and listen to the sytem. Been a long time coming for the Maple setup and it was well worth the wait.
  3. Here are some pics of the KLF-10's, not the best since they are from my cellphone and the lighting sucked in the room they are hiding in until Christmas. They are in such great shape and for $180 I still can't believe what a deal they were.
  4. Thanks for the compliment guys, I get the speakers and the wife decorates how she wants [] I have always wanted Maple, when I bought my main room RF-7 setup I had the choice between black and Maple and the wife vetoed the Maple back then due to the decor of the house but I never forgot about the Maple setup [] It's awesome to look at and bliss to listen to. The RSW-15 will be icing on the cake.... someday.
  5. Thanks to a couple forum members I finally completed the Maple RF setup in my bedroom system. Still need to get the Maple RSW-15 someday, but for now the 5 channel setup is complete, it's sounding amazing and looks gorgeous!! Thanks to Charles Clarke for the Maple RB-5's and gigbyt (John) for the Maple RC-7. Here's some pics for your viewing pleasure, man I love Klipsch []
  6. Yeah from what I saw online $180 was a good price so I was pretty much committed to buying them regardless of their condition but when they turned out to be in amazing shape I was sold instantly. The owner was very nice and demoed some music for me, then played the speakers through a tube/hybrid amp that made them sound even better. I took them home right away [] I'll get some pics for all to see. Thanks. Scott
  7. Well I picked up the KLF-10's, they were in great condition and sounded amazing! Couldn't pass them up for $180! My son will be very happy when Christmas comes, a shame they have to sit for a couple months until then but it will be well worth the wait! Thanks for the help. Scott
  8. Great info, I will pick them up then. Kind of fun to get stuff for him and also allow me to hear other series of Klipsch for my own enjoyment. [] What would be the center channel needed to match these, the KLF-C7? Any other options? Scott
  9. I'm looking to get my son some speakers for Christmas and was wondering what people thought of the KLF-10's? How would they compare to say the RF-3's? Ihave never heard the Legend series so I'm just curious. There are several sets available locally for a good price. He would listen to music, play games through them, etc. Do these speakers require a good amount of power or could a receiver run them ok? Thanks for any info. Scott
  10. Well the wife has approved of the Maple RSW-15 look so that's the first obstacle out of the way [] Now the search begins, oh the joys of spending countless hours looking for a subwoofer [] Thanks for the great feedback, I'm very excited to find one and bring her home.
  11. This is the info I was looking for! Thanks for the quick replies too. I'm leaning more towards the music side for the main need as this sub is in our room where we tend to listen to more music than movies, but we definitely watch a good amount of movies so it has to perform there. I don't mind if it digs to 20hz and falls off fast from there, I have the SVS PB12 Ultra/2 for anything I need for earth shaking bass. I'm really looking for some nice clean bass and would like to keep it in the Klipsch family to complete my Maple setup. I thought the search for the RC-7 was going to be tough [] I might consider the reveneering option but would rather own a Maple manufactured version for my mental sake knowing it's built and legit that way []
  12. I'm pondering what I want to do for a subwoofer in my bedroom setup, I have used SVS for ever and love them but was thinking of maybe trying something different this round. The sub that I would get will probably take me forever to find and that would be a Maple RSW-15 or Maple RSW-12 if they made that size in Maple. I'm open to a black RSW-15/12 until that day comes but want to see what people think about the RSW line. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Scott
  13. Thanks for the great information on the UMC-1. I'm going to pick up a new one and see how I like it, worst case I sell it or upgrade to the new model. Very excited to see how things turn out.
  14. Vital - when you say delay are you referring to sound delay or just a delay in switching and waiting for the picture and sound to display?
  15. Very true, didn't know Emotiva offers free shipping. I would be looking at $350 plus shipping for a brand new one. Would it be worth just buying a new one for the card just in case for another $100 or so? Then if I don't like it sell it and have the card to upgrade?
  16. Thanks for the info tmassey. Would you pick up the UMC-1 if it was a very good deal like $400? I'm not sure about upgrading, I could look to upgrade to the newer model later or something, but for the price it seems it can't be beat. I like the looks of the XMC-1, but don't have an upgrade card and don't want to wait for who knows when they eventually come out, bugs, etc.
  17. Ok cool, as long as there isn't a laundry list of items that people are having issues with I'm ok with that. I guess that's why there's a warranty right? []
  18. That's the thing that I worry about as I have Dish for my cable and don't want to deal with the issues some people are having. Is there a fix from Emotiva for those cable box issues?
  19. Bill - Thanks for the info. $1599 is a little more than I wanted to spend. I looked around yesterday and saw that NAD pre/pro and it looked pretty solid, although I'm not a fan of the "look" of it, too plain and flat gray/black. The looks of the unit will definitely play a role since this will be visable and my wife would get pissed if it doesn't look nice [] Same thing goes with the Integra stuff, just not a fan of the looks [] Derrick - I will check the DRC and loudness to see what they are set to. I will also review the MCACC thread at AVS forum, thanks! Vital - I'm looking at the UMC-1 and I'm not too concerned with the finicky part, I can work with that and tweak. The price point is almost too good to be true for something that performs well. I'm pretty close to buying one just to see if it works as well as people say for the price I can get one for. Can always resell if I don't like it I suppose or put it in my bedroom setup and sell the VSX-90TXV []
  20. No real feature I'm looking for, just wondering if I might be missing out on a better soundstage or overall performance with a dedicated pre-amp vs using a receiver. I calibrated the system with the MCACC setup and it seems to be good but when watching blu ray movies through my Panasonic DMP-BDT500 things are VERY loud and inconsistent. Example the dialogue is normal volume but when action or explosions happen it seems to be VERY loud, not sure what's up yet with this as I need to dig into the setup some more. I remember when I use was running the Rotel RSP-1098 the soundstage was huge, things sounded so amazing, just don't want to be missing out on anything not having something better for my Aragon 3005/RF7's. I have two Elite receivers (VSX-53 in the main room and VSX-90TXV in my bedroom) and love them both, just wondering if there's something in the comparable price range that could be better. Thanks for the help.
  21. Hi all, long time member getting back into the scene some [] I have a full RF7 setup with a Pioneer Elite VSX-53 receiver for my pre-amp and running an Aragon 3005 to power the setup. Was looking at the Emotiva UMC-1 or something that is a true pre-amp that I could replace the VSX-53 with. I used to have the Rotel RSP-1098 and loved it. What are your thoughts on my options? The must is HDMI switching, don't need 3D HDMI though. Thanks for any help.
  22. Man if I were local I would snag these up. Looking to replace my black setup with Maple (RF-7, RC-7, RF-5). Good luck with the sale, these are GORGEOUS!!!!
  23. I'm selling my Rotel RB-1050 2 channel amp, MINT condition, hardly ever use it, I need the money for other expenses now. I have the original box, manual, power cord, etc. Here's a pic, it's the bottom piece.... $300 plus shipping obo. Thanks for looking!!!
  24. Re-veneer them. Can you really do that? I'm afraid it won't be near as nice as the original Maple 7's [] Just got to find a set to buy is all []
  25. Man everytime I see these I regret not ordering them!! I ordered black and every day I kick myself in the butt when I see them, SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!! Good luck with the sale!
