  1. Looks great- rock them through the holiday!
  2. Nice- Ive got my 430 running with some H2s as I type this. I keep meaning to recap it, but everything works and it sounds good so it just hasnt been a priority. I had a 730 at the same time as the 430 and liked the sound of the 430 better, although since neither was rebuilt it wasnt fair. Enjoy- they definitely make magic together.
  3. I had called Klipsch Customer Service last week. They had sold out of kits but were going to see if the warehouse could make more. Still waiting on an answer (thats why I was asking about just the tweeters on another thread as a plan B).
  4. OK- thanks all. Sounds like the Klipsch made OEM one is the way to go. I hadnt realized that was even an option. Much appreciated- Chris
  5. I think you are right- otherwise Id always wonder if whatever I had were as good as those.
  6. So would the Klipsch made one drop in to the H2 K-53 tweeter without the need to change the crossover? That was one of the attraction to the Crites. So if a non-klipsch made diaphragm is purchased it would be the same from all the other vendors? Thanks-
  7. Considering replacing the phenolic diaphragm in my H2 tweeters with titanium. Crites seems to be the gold standard. Their price seems to have jumped from $54 to $82 somewhat recently. There are other places offering titanium diaphragms for less- Midwest Speaker Repair for $60 then a bunch of fly by nights on ebay. So my question is are they all created equal or is it worth shelling out the bit extra for the Crites? Thanks in advance....
  8. Other than the cabinets, are any parts reused if I was to purchase the H3 kit? Someone mentioned the horn on the mid but couldnt tell definitively if thats what they meant.
  9. Now thats interesting. I had gotten the H2s as a total project with a plan to reveneer them at some point but building cabinets isnt a step too far. If I get the H3 upgrade kit Id have all the guts anyway to build a second set...hmmm. I had thought something like the Tangent 400s boxes but built to a higher standard but trying to figure out an H4 would be fun. The current H2s are in my main system and Im using my subs but they will eventually end up in my 2nd lower power system that doesnt have a sub. Some additional low end is very much desired....published specs for low end- H2: 63Hz, H3: 58Hz and then the big jump to H4 at 48Hz. Anyone have experience with the LMAHL and DE10 vs the H3 tweeter?
  10. Ive heard 2s in good order. The 3s are better. I assume the 4s better yet. Bass, highs all improved incrementally. Would like the project so plan to update them. The question is which route. Appreciate the input!
  11. First off thank for having me! I've been lurking here many years but just got my first set of horns- an all original set of H2s. Im pretty excited about them. I have caps ordered already to rebuild the crossovers, so should be able to do that next week. I got these as projects anyway as I love to tinker so want to decide on an upgrade path for them. Wondering which would be better- the Klipsch kit to upgrade them fully to H3s and be done or to do some mish-mosh of LMAHL with DE10 drivers, titanium diaphragms for the mids and some other woofer, and be able to do them a piece at a time? They both have their appeal for different reasons.....which would produce the better end result though?
