  1. The Rf-63 would be an Improvement over your Rf-35 by a good margin. If you were to get say the RF-82 the margin would be smaller if none at all. Your room size should be a factor in what speaker you choose. If you have lots of room and I mean lots get the 83's. If you have an average to large size room I would try the 63's. I have a demo pair of 63's that I am testing out and they are plenty for my room (22'x13'). I am impressed with the sound quality of the 63's. I had a pair of Revel f32's hear for a week that I was thinking of buying, But I think the Klipsch sound just as good in my room. The Revel go for 4 grand. If you can take a pair home to demo for a few days I would try before you buy. The big speakers may not sound as good in your room. I have K-horns and they do not sound near as good as I have heard them in a larger room. Good luck.
  2. Ya all have to give them a listen. Yesterday I gave them a listen at Simply Stereo In Hoffman Estates. I have owned Cornwall I and cornwall II's and it seems to me that the construction or least the fit and finish is better for sure. Also these Cornwalls imaging and sound stage depth is much better than what I remember. The bass punch seems tighter as well. Just my two cents. The price is just over twice that of the H3 and you do relly get twice as much speaker. Buy the way they still sound like a huge speaker and not harsh or honkey at all. I have never heard Heresy's described as honkey. They sound great. Joel
  3. Tony, "Hey Hightone, is that Jerry's hand for a moniker? " Yes I am a big Jerry fan. I think the high quality Marantz gear is great. I have been fond of Marantz Since I was a boy. I hope to own some some day. Joel
  4. I have used a few tube amps with Cornwalls and K-horns and liked the sound very much, however, tube rolling, vintage tubes and bad tubes was enough for me to try solid state. My last tube amp EAR 834 used 8 power tubes $$$$$$. I like vinyl and can find records in my area or just about any area in NM condition for 5 or 6 bucks ok some are more and some a lot more. My point is a few sets of tubes for me was a lot of vinyl. So solid state amps is where I went. Short on cash I opted for a Sunfire symphonic reference stereo stack. Way to much power I know but a matched pre and amp and it was cheep. Cheep most often makes BAD sound but not all the time. This time it did. Not so much bad sonics as poor build and lots of noise. I had hiss at ten feet and could hear it with the voulme knob at zero clear as a bell. I put up with this for a while and saved for something better. A good coustmer I am at the local stereo shop and they let me take stuff home to demo. They suggested I try out the new Roksan M-1 pre amd amp combo. At 80 watts it has plenty of power and looked cool so I said I would give it a whirl. My tube amp was pretty darn quiet some tube noise at very low levels was my biggest complaint. The Roksan gear was very quiet and was great sounding from top to bottom with K-horns. I enjoyed it for a week and was very unhappy when I had to give it back. At 2200.00 each I just could not part with that much cash. Used Roksan gear Is much cheeper and the Caspin line now discontinued sounded very good and can be found at a quater of the price as the new stuff. I just could not find any for sale when I was lookin. Just what is a guy to do? I found some musical fidelity stuff on line for a good price and read some good reviews. ( are there any bad reviews?) I purchased a A3CR dual mono amp and A3.2cr dual mono pre amp of audiogon in hopes it would sound as good as the Roksan stuff . The musical fidelity stuff is relly well built and looks great. There is no hiss it is very quiet and sounds better than the Roksan stuff at about a third of the cost. Has any one else gone from tubes to solid state and been happy? If so what are you using? I will tell you one thing. K-horns are hard to please sometimes. happy posting!!! Joel

I love mine and as time goes on your love for yours will only grow. ---------------- Thanks everyone! There is actual two doors There when I put the one back on from the corner to the end of the door will be 45". Not ideal for sure but what the hell. I do have 2 perfect corners but have not figured out how I could it work yet. The room is 21' x 12'4" big window in the center of that wall. Where would I put the tv. LOL. Right now I have giant head phones. Joel

When Khorns perform their disappearing act it is quite stunning! Woo ---------------- Where would the sweet spot be if they were on the long wall? I think I could make it work. The short wall would be easier. I just am not sure the room is deep enough for the lnog wall.

I can not yet tell you when it ends! Good luck
  13. I should be getting my first pair of k-horn sometime this week. I have a few questions. They are early 80's vintage. What crossover would be in this vintage? I know it has the cast horn lens. What is the prefered network? Also The room is 21' x 12'4". How tough is it going to be to set these up in this room and get good sound? Thanks, Joel
