  1. "2 Available" does that mean this guy want's $6000/each? LMAO
  2. There are 2 local listings around me for stereo tube amps that I've been looking at, both for around $300-350, a Reisong A10 with "upgraded" tubes and a fully stock Yaqin MC-100B. I was curious if anyone had any insight as to the pros and cons of each one, there are quite a few reviews and posts about the Reisong but I can hardly find any info about the Yaquin.
  3. I actually grabbed one of the Pioneer SX-535s for $100 in pretty great shape, I'm waiting for the LED kit to come in so I can get it running cooler. I have my eyes on a Harman Kardon next, there's a 330c for $180 near me and a few older posts of 430s on Offerup that I'm trying to make a deal on.
  4. I'd be on your way to Virginia Beach from MD, I'm just south of DC. I'd be interested in them for the right price.
  5. I currently have a pair of stock Quartets and I'm planning on getting either a pair of Heresy IIIs or Cornwalls in the future. I'd like to try my hand at restoring a vintage amp that will work well for my current and future vintage speakers. I was wondering what everyone else uses and if there were any hidden gems out there that aren't crazy expensive. Here are a few local examples of vintage amps I found: https://frederick.craigslist.org/ele/d/new-market-sherwood-stereo-tuner/7290224052.html https://frederick.craigslist.org/ele/d/new-market-kenwood-integrated-amplifier/7290231533.html https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/ele/d/gaithersburg-yamaha-stereo-100w-natural/7282254931.html https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ele/d/vienna-yamaha-320-integrated-amplifier/7283784117.html https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/ele/d/silver-spring-onkyo-receiver-and/7285871592.html https://baltimore.craigslist.org/atq/d/nottingham-fisher-speakers-and-audio/7287605023.html https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/msg/d/alexandria-huge-drop-various-stereo/7284829092.html https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ele/d/falls-church-fs-harmon-kardon-hk3500/7290860115.html https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ele/d/springfield-vintage-fisher-studio/7284265032.html https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/ele/d/annapolis-kenwood-ka-3500-and-kt-5300/7290443203.html https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/ele/d/annapolis-kenwood-ka-3700-and-kt-5300/7286910170.html https://richmond.craigslist.org/ele/d/richmond-marantz-sr-surround-sound/7289841764.html https://baltimore.craigslist.org/ele/d/westminster-kenwood-kr-65-am-fm-stereo/7275145581.html https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ele/d/chantilly-nad-c720bee-stereo-receiver/7276313686.html https://charlottesville.craigslist.org/ele/d/charlottesville-vintage-hitachi-ha-5300/7287261657.html
  6. What do you have available? I picked up a pair of beautiful quartets last week but if there's a good deal to be had I'd be happy to take a look at what you want to sell. If you could upload a few photos and info that would be great. And welcome to the Forums!
  7. Right now I'm using a tube pre-amp with a topping ss amp. I'm waiting for my IcePower 50x2 kit to arrive, then I'll be using the tube-preamp with that.
  8. I don't think I paid too much but it's hard to say when Quartets hardly ever come up for sale. I don't think $500 was too much in the DC area but I could be wrong. Chorus IIs and Forte IIs are normally listed at $1500 here.
  9. Ok ignore the mess and still wrapped TV (just moved here a month ago) but here are the Quartets!
  10. I'll be sure to take a few photos once I get home this afternoon! I need to polish up the cabinets to get rid of the fingerprints from moving but they are quite nice.
  11. longdrive03 Amazing work! Do you have any recommendations for guides on getting started with veneering? I have some older speakers that I'd like to try my hand at.
  12. Hey guys thanks for all of your messages and help. I ended up with a pair of Quartets for $500 in nearly mint condition that I picked up last night and I'm very happy with.
  13. Thank you for letting me know! That would have been quite unfortunate.
  14. Listening to them first makes sense for sure. After a time I'll figure out if there's anything I feel needs to be upgraded/changed and go from there.
  15. I'll be picking up my very first pair of Klipsch Heritage speakers this afternoon, a pair of Quartets. Are there any recommended mods/upgrades that people do to these models? I saw something about a weight on the passive radiator and some talk of tweeter upgrades. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg upgrading them but some basic recommendations would be very much appreciated.
  16. Sorry I can't PM, account is too new or I haven't posted enough yet. Either the Cornwall or Chorus would be amazing though, as long as it's less than the insane prices you usually see around here. Nevermind, it looks like I can PM now.
  17. I wanted to see if anyone had a pair of Heresy, Forte, Chorus, or Cornwall speakers they wanted to sell in the Washington DC area. I'm willing to drive pretty far for the right deal. I don't really mind what wood or color they are or if they need to be refinished, I'm up for a project. Let me know if you have anything you'd like to sell or if you know of any posts or leads, these will be my very first vintage Klipsch speakers.
  18. There are also these HIIs with an asking price of $750.
  19. Thank you everyone for replying, for some reason I didn't get notified about the replies. I'm in the Washington DC area and I believe they do come with grilles. I wouldn't be flipping them I'd like to keep them for at least a few years and get them all cleaned up and in great shape. I'm really having a hard time finding any reasonably priced vintage Klipsch gear around here though. Cheapest Heresy II's listed for $750, Forte II's asking $1500, Cornwall's anywhere from $1500-3500. I keep seeing posts from just last year of people finding these for far far cheaper than the prices I'm seeing on CL and FB Marketplace. I'm looking at a pair of Cornwall's for $1000 but they look rough (water spots on the labels) and it would be at least a 12 round trip to go get them. Am I just in the most expensive market here or am I looking in the wrong places for vintage Klipsch? I'm willing to drive several hours round trip for the right deal but I'm not willing to pay these crazy prices that some people are asking.
  20. I found a seller about 2 hours from me selling a pair of Heresy I HBRs and he's asking $600. He stated they were purchased brand new by him in Germany and are all original. He's also willing to demo them when I go up there. They appear to be in OK shape with some damage to the veneer. What would you guys say the value is on these? Please see the attached photos for SNs and condition details.
