  1. I am looking to buy another amp, I have come across two that I am interested in, one is an Adcom 555 II for $500 the other is Soundstream DA1 with preamp C1 for $800. The Adcom is firm $500 one owner and the Soundstream amp and preamp maybe some room for negotiation. The DA1 had the Caps replaced about 6 months ago. By the way those caps are huge! Looking for some thoughts on this. I now have a Sunfire 300 and was also wondering how those other two amps compared to it. My speakers are LSi and klf-30, just wondering what the general consensus is thanks.
  2. Not sure why that latter post keeps popping up everytime I hit reply but since I have decided for now to keep the LSIs I am running them side-by-side with the klf 30s, would that for some reason give the Denon audyssey room calibration the impression of out of phase? If that makes any sense. I ask this because I know speaker placement obviously affects what the mic is reading, an example would be a surround speaker placed in a corner that is only physically capable I'm going down to 80 Hertz because of its placement the the mic perceives it as capable of 60 hertz, not exact numbers but just to the point so is that possible with phasing also? Just a shot in the dark bearing in mind that reversing the polarity on the lascalas allowed the room calibration to finish.
  3. Unfortunately I don't have the room to get that distance. I have them in the only viable spot now and that puts my primary listening at about eight feet. I do have them towed in slightly at about 6 in off the wall, that's about as far as I can get them off the wall without them being in the way and being even closer to my listening position. As far as buying another pair before selling these I actually thought about that but I would be stretching my budget. We'll see what happens thanks.
  4. Well it's only been a week since I installed Crites diaphragm and seems to be holding up well so far, my listening habits are loud, VERY LOUD!!!!! The way Rock in my opinion was intended and haven't fried the voice coil or notice any detriment in sound thus far though I can say the new diaphragms are much brighter than the original. The previous owner for some reason, I'm guessing perhaps that's what he had on hand put 5 amp fuses instead of the 3 amp fuses and that caused that Tweeter to fail. Maybe I should bring this next part over to Technical and modifications but since I've decided to hang on to these at least for the time being I decided to recalibrate my system using the Denon audyssey room calibration, it shows that my lascalas AR out of phase, I did this three times thinking it was some Ambient sound from outside something I don't know but to no avail so I did the quick next logical thing and reversed polarity on my lascalas and and the process continued as normal, what gives, any thoughts?
  5. Hey there, I see these crossovers are still listed did anybody get them? I tried hitting the envelope icon yesterday I assume that's private message but not sure if it went through

  7. Hey Sancho, I am in Central Florida East Coast. If I do decide to put them back on the market I will certainly list them here also on Facebook and Craigslist. Thanks
  8. LOL I'm not going anywhere I just wanted to thank those who responded. Been a Klipsch fan for a long time I just got a little overzealous, will more than likely be putting the LSIs back on the market and getting something more realistic LOL like rf-7 ll. Yuse guys are great though!
  9. Not sure if anyone will find this but just a quick update. My Crites diaphragm came in over the weekend I put it in along with the proper 3 amp 250 volt fuses, I only ordered one because I wasn't sure how it would sound, also I was kind of kicking around the idea of replacing the the tweets completely.. I did notice the crites diaphragm is definitely brighter than the original. I've got to say this is my first experience with the Heritage line and they did not disappoint, I am powering them with a Sunfire 300 and when I got them up to volume omigod it literally felt like someone was smacking me in the chest, my klf 30s do that too but not like that and the lifelike sound and imaging even in my small room just amazing. Unfortunately due to the size of my room I can't seem to get far enough away from them for the frequencies to blend or the sound to come together if that makes any sense. My room is only 11 X 12 open plan into the same size dining area. I probably should have stuck with my original plan to finish my klf 30s and get a pair of RF 7 ll. LOL I don't know what the heck I was thinking but these things are beasts way too much for my space so I am more than likely going to put them back on the market. Thank you all for your input this is a great source of information and Friendly folks. My best to you all.
  10. Looking to buy a replacement woofer for my RF 5 willing to pay a reasonable price plus shipping. I prefer to use PayPal if possible thanks. I am out of Central Florida.
  11. Well that clears that up thanks guys that seems to be good for responding to a particular comment seven or eight posts up the line
  12. Just off topic for one moment as I am new to this forum what are the + and quote options at the bottom of each post what do they do?
  13. My intent is to keep these as original as possible, the quality Klipsch speakers did not become this good by accident but that being said I also know or feel there is always room for improvement. I've been kicking around the idea when my wallet allows possibly trying out Dean's crossovers and or Dave's tweeter I'm just not sure I can justify spending that much money not being sure it would be a major Improvement though others have said that they are it is all still subjective, price / Improvement
  14. Yeah as far as the zener application I have no idea I still have a lot to learn evidently but it doesn't seem to be consistent as far as their placements also was wondering what year your LSI are.
  15. Randy, will do. Are there any recommendations on a better quality diaphragm for the ls? I have always been under the impression that Crites products meet or exceed factory.

  17. Yeah I'm fixing to head to the local audio repair here shortly pick up a couple of 3:amp fuses, actually I'm going to buy a few 2 see what the limits are on these before they blow, if they blow. My Crites diaphragm should be here today, hopefully they are at least as good as the original phenolic. I've had very nice outcomes with their products in the past so I expect no different but time will tell. Thanks
  18. Yes I stand corrected I tried to correct my post I guess it didn't go through
  19. Mmm good observation I didn't know that they weren't fused at a certain point in time come to think of it I did take a fuse out and it's a 5 in there and it supposed to be at 3
  20. So I wonder when they started putting the zener in. Is it possible that they started adding the zener in the al2 but just didn't print it on the crossover board I know Klipsch is somewhat notorious for misprinting things such as wattage is on the back of speakers
  21. They are super clean minus the Tweeter issue once I get that replaced I'm looking forward to being able to light them up if they sound that much better than my klf thirties and I'm really in for a treat!
  22. yes i found out about the no ti deal after the fact. I was POd that i was lied to though seller did offer to make it right but i declined, i had already orderd replacment from Crites.
  23. Right on Randy thanks. My AL for for some reason does not have that diode as you can see in the next pic why would that be? Im fairly sure these are 1987s? based on the date hand printed on the tweeter diaphram when took it apart, just 2 years before the end of the first AL run if Im not mistaken? Did they initially not have the zener?
  24. Ok so heres the pics the red arrow on the left and thank you guys for your responses
