  1. Out of curiosity, why selling? I love those RF-7 III's.
  2. Someone was selling a pair of RF-7 III's on AVS Forums.
  3. Reach out to Steve at Paducah Home Theater. Don't think you'll find a better deal.
  4. I owned these but never opened them. Ended up going with the RF-7 III's. I hear these are fantastic speakers for their price.
  5. Would be a horrible decision. Would benefit you in no way.
  6. Anybody in Chicagoland here still meet up? I live in Campton Hills, IL.
  7. I can't find any horizonal (or vertical) dispersion maps for these speakers. Are they wide? Narrow? Anyone know where to find those?
  8. I bought my RF-7 III's for $1000 each. Now think about adding $950 in parts, which doesn't include the labor. You're now talking about doubling the price of the speaker. That's like buying a pair of $50 computer speakers and then spending another $50 for upgrades for them. If you want something that costs that much, then go spend that much on something else that meets your needs. Otherwise, enjoy the speaker for what it is (and it's pretty awesome already). I guarantee that any RF-7 owners buying the snake oil never had a complaint with their speakers until then. But hey, if you're big on GR Research, maybe you'd like their speaker packs. Got great reviews at ASR. 😆 GR Research LGK 2.0 Speaker Review | Audio Science Review (ASR) Forum
  9. You're talking about speakers that are really not used that often. If you're budget minded, just get the cheaper version and you'll be very pleased. They're both good for Atmos.
  10. I know the III's are still selling well, but wondering if anything is on the horizon. Was it 7 years or so between II and III? Should we expect the same from III to IV? Just curious if anyone has heard any rumors, and where/when you think we would hear about it first (CEDIA 2023, etc.). Also, what do you think needs to be changed or updated on the next version? More blocking/bracing? Larger horn (like the RP- line)? Crossover changes?
  11. Buy once, cry once. I have RF-7 III's as my LCR.
  12. Brand new, sealed, never opened, in original packaging. This is not ‘B Stock’. Full warranty. Can deliver in Chicagoland area. $3950. You can look up all the details online. Link: AVR-X8500HA 13.2 Ch. AV Amplifier with 3D Audio | Denon™
  13. If money is a concern, just go with the RP-6000F's and get a decent subwoofer (or two) to pair with them.
  14. I have a 9.2.4 home theater setup. Speakers are below. I was all set to buy a Denon X8500HA to power this system, which would do a fine job, but I'm wondering if I'm doing the RF-7 III's (and myself) a disservice by not using separates and providing more power and headroom? I also read some opinions that running separates also help to 'separate' the layers better in Atmos - less bleed through. Couldn't speak to that myself, though. If not the Denon X8500HA AVR, I was looking at a 16-channel processor, and to power the RF-7 III's, perhaps a Buckeye NC502MP, which offers 350w per speaker @ 8ohm. In any case, I was looking for your opinions based on what you've experienced, and again, if I should ditch the Denon in order to feed the beast more power. OR... if it wouldn't be noticeably different. 15. Most horizontal speakers were not designed to be used like that. Combing, earlobing, etc. If you're looking to match your LCR, go with the RF-7 III's. Doing so with the RC-64's would be a mistake.
  16. Yes. Backer boxes will always be super beneficial to the quality and efficiency of the sound, and to sound isolation. I just built 6 boxes for my PRO-180RPC's. Used MDF and cement board with Green Glue. Caulk the seams with acoustical, throw some poly fill in there, and you're golden. Something is better than nothing. https://www.soundproofingcompany.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/CIM-backer-box-installation-web.pdf
  17. Room acoustics, especially behind your front stage, will address a lot of problems. Majority of the time, it's a room problem, not a speaker problem. Also check the crossover settings, but I'm sure you've already done that.
  18. Get the PRO-180RPC LCR's and those can be aimed at the MLP. The PRO-180's are a better speaker, all around. That being said, if you're just using them as in-ceiling Atmos speakers, then the 5800's would be just fine. A comment earlier said they were bright/harsh, but that opinion is irrelevant if you're just using them in a HT setup, where they won't even be that active like your LCR.
  19. Why would you get anything other than the RF-7 III's for L/R since you already have the matching RC-64 III center. Don't do it.
