  1. keep the Parasounds and demo the Jubilee
  2. mono amped, hard to go wrong with crown xls or qsc line active bi-amped, which is how my 904's are, will likely be over your proposed budget even used
  3. true but can give a semblance of size for a DH1A next to my car keys

    fair enough. edited.
  5. back in the old days used the huge Triplitt analogs. last 25 years various Flukes and they have been flawless.
  6. A pair of Ampzillas? worth more than the entire bid price TBH. i have an early Ampzilla, unplugged in a server rack at work keeping it safe for harm. needs a complete rebuild for the second time sadly hence it just sits.
  7. Does not hurt to play with the DSP, get used to how it works and how the settings affect the results. When I first went to a DBX Venu360 in hindsight I had a poor optimization but over time and learning the system I could not see not using it. Part of the fun is the learning process! This on a Kpt-904/K510/30"THT.
  8. Hello, I am wanting to try a different set of drivers in my k510 so looking for new'ish/gently used drivers. Will be pairing with my kpt-904 in a bi amped setting. Let me know what ya might be willing to part with! Thanks, Bruce
  9. as there was a PM sent by another, are these still available?
  10. I use a DBX Venu360 on the mains and the sub feed but it is set to the old sub until I get time to play with the RTA. Using the old sub plate amp to get an idea of how much power I actually need and TBH does not seem to need a lot. Going to be fun dialing it in but so far I love it. The wife however is not happy with the size of it.
  11. i added a 30" wide THT to my kpt-904/k510 setup and first fired up tonight. Have not yet begun optimization but the output is impressive and makes my old 15" sub anemic, all in a good way of course!
  12. "most" does not classify most of the users here. I have 800w in my kpt-904/k510s and adding a 1000w THT this weekend. Thinking about a tube amp just for the k510s. I like the Black Ice F22 it keeps calling me.

Gonna jump in here. My Polish born wife introduced me to Majonez Dekoracyjny Polish Mayonnaise and i cannot touch any other now. Truly elevates mayo to another level.
  14. easy to powdercoat as well. now i am showing my hot rod guy thinking.

  16. Only the xp-4080 is listed anymore and even that is under legacy. I use a DBX Venu360 and like it a whole lot.

  18. I have a NR1711 and I like it. The useability for the family is very high which is important to me and much more automated than my Sony flipping from TV/Movies to music etc. Music streaming is very goodPerformance is good not awesome but need to remember this is not the top of the line stuff. Power output is weak but I knew that going in and figured my Klipsch Heritage speakers would be fine. It does get very loud but missing the impact. For giggles i wired it up to my cinema KPT-904's and was not impressed. But that is what my Parasound amps are for anyways. The NR1711 does have a zone 2 as well as preamp outs (for the front main LR). I use the zone 2 with the KPT-904's for music. The built in Audyssey is decent but only for the main zone. FWIW i bought a factory refurb and I swear it was still wrapped in the original plastic wrap and has been flawless. So far!
  19. Sure i am an idiot, will start with that. Wife says that looking over the KPT-904 setup I use for music. With that said, in a prior life i worked for a pro sound reinforcement co out of chicago and we rented gear throughout the midwest for use by touring rock acts. Yes we blew stuff up on occasion but that was usually gear that was not specc'd right for the venue size or for the right usage. I also saw a fair amount of abuse done by the road crew because they didn't care or have to pay for it.
  20. not sure the 402's would pass the wife test still want them. could always tell her to go shopping for the day?
