  1. Try https://www.pirateship.com/. Usually much cheaper.
  2. Try https://www.pirateship.com/ They have bulk deals with USPS and UPS and pass along pretty good discounts. Three or four months ago I used them for some Heresys and saved maybe 25%. IIRC they check multiple carriers to find the cheapest. There are other similar companies out there but I have used only this one.
  3. I bought a pair of nice Heresy Iis and got these bases with them. The previous owner told me that he just couldn't stand to drill holes in his speakers so he never installed the bases though he did set the speakers on the bases for a while. As far as I can tell, they are in perfect LN condition. The bases weight 2# 7oz. total, so figure 4# shipping from 55430. I will charge you only my actual cost.
  4. Listing no longer displayed.
  5. I just bought a very nice pair of H2s in oak from the original owner. He told me that he had never mounted the angle bases because he hated the idea of drilling into the nice cabinets. So when he used these he simply set the cabinets on them. They are perfect; no issues with damage or veneers. Anyway, for my installation I do not need these bases. I could however, use a pair of nice oak flat/level bases. So, anyone want to trade even? Absent a trade I would also sell these. How does $95 plus actual shipping sound? I really don't know.
  6. Sorry, late to the party, just noticed this thread. MSEE here and Extra Class ham. My suspicion would be that the amplifier power supply is not adequately filtering power line noise and it is getting into the amplifier power rail. Note that this is unrelated to "surge." I would look for a powerline noise filter and see if that helps. Google gave me these guys: https://palomar-engineers.com/rfi-kits/miscellaneous-rfi-solutions/wall-wart-rfi-filter-kit/Noise-Filters-AC-DC-c21620742 I suggesting contacting their tech support; they may be able to offer some advice. (Filters comprising wires wrapped on ferrite toroids may look a little Micky-Mouse to some, but they are a very common and effective means of filtering. You may have seen USB or monitor cords with a "lump." That is a ferrite toroid that the wire passes through just once. Wrapping multiple times substantially increases the filtering.) Regarding the ethernet gadget, it might well be pumping unnecessary noise into the power line. Designers of that type of product are highly cost driven and will not be spending even pennies to prevent rare problems like this. Filtering on that end might work, but it might just filter out the ethernet signal too. )-: It doesn't cost anything to try, though. Re the headphones vs Heresy, that's hard to guess. Probably it is a consequence of exactly where in the amplifier the unwanted buzz is getting introduced.
  7. FWIW, the shipping on the lacewood Hiiis, 49# as packed, was about $80 each with $1000 each in insurance, going about halfway across the country. I've been using https://www.pirateship.com/ . Without their discount IIRC the shipping would have been well north of $110. There are several of these discount resellers out there, but I have not seriously price shopped them. Sorry to be slow responding. For some reason I am not getting notifications of replies even though I have clicked "Follow Topic." @carlthess40, sorry no interest in walnut, just very nice oak to match the room they are destined for.
  8. Actually, I bought those lacewood Hiiis at about $1300 shipped. Absolutely beautiful. They are now in the living room of our city home and I am lusting for another pair of Heresys for the lake place where I recently sold some LaScalas and now have big empty space and some wires lying there unconnected. )-: Budget? I think a fair price for an oak pair might be $700-800 shipped. Wood has to be living room quality too. Time frame is 6 months, so I can be patient. If someone came at me with some exotic veneer like rosewood, zebra, etc. I would probably take leave of my $enses again!
  9. Speakers arrived today in fine shape. Easily as beautiful as Khornukopia's photos. Easy transaction. Thanks!
  10. PM sent with questions; serious interest.
  11. I have a longer-term (6 months) need for a pair of Heresys. 1,2,3, but not 4. Minor xover, other mods OK but not valued much. Wife insists on living room quality cabinets, so not black, not birch. Walnut, Oak, or anything unusual would be good. These will probably have to be shipped to 56636, so original boxes would be very helpful.

I don't know about that one, but I have used https://www.pirateship.com/ a few times recently. They seem to be the same sort of service. I have not done detail cost comparisons, but their claims IIRC are in the 20-30% savings range.
  13. @Rowan611, I am in the Minneapolis area and have been "redecorating" my Klipsch inventory lately. I'm too new here to PM, though. If you want some numbers, PM me and I can answer. There is this thread, too:
