  1. I want to ask your impressions of your setup and so have done research to answer your question first The 8500H is basically their flagship receiver, but without 8k capability (THey also have the 8500HA which now includes 8k). THe 6700H is 8k and very slightly less powerful, by just 20 watts in fact (10w per channel with 2 driven at 8ohms). The 6700H will only provide amplification to 11 channels, however it will process 13 so if you get an external amp you can still have 13 channel glory should you want it. However for a capable 7.2.4 atmos setup that's still only 11 channels. So my question if you could please You're using the RP502S as the side surrounds in a 7.1.4 atmos setup. The non direct speaker like the 502S is not recommended for an atmost setup and they prefer the direct speakers like 600M for example. How do you find the atmos setup with the 502S on the sides? Is the 3d effect diminished do you think? THanks very much
  2. I am going through a similar process with difficulty. Spare a thought for us in Australia. By your pricing the RP8000 is 896 euro here and the 6000 is 736 euro. That's serious money and everything is the same. We must just pay out our *&^ or accept something much lesser for the same money and no sales whatsoever, at any store, ever as far as I can tell
  3. Hi everyone, Just quickly, I currently have an old Quintet 5.0 system from 2012. Yes, the sub amp ceased to power on a few years ago. I listened to a friends 5.1.2 setup recently with a 65" CX and it reignited my desire to do a decent home theatre for myself. An issue I have is that I'm in Australia, so 1) All the HT gear is very expensive compared to what you get it for and 2) We cannot try first, either in a shop or at home (not where I live anyway). There is no concept of sending it back here so we have to make the right decision first go. I'm fairly settled on my front stage either being RP 8000F or RP 600M and a 504C. An alternative is SVS Ultra bookshelves and centre. Either way I am probably going with an SVS sub probably the PB3000, but maybe PB2000. TV will be a 77" C1 probably wall hung due to the centre channel being hard to place adequately. I have a 13' x 17' room but with several bonus areas hanging off it. Currently there is a very clear echo when I click my fingers. Have plain walls and tiled floors with one rug. I will explore acoustic treatment as best I can but I'm reasonably limited. Planning on adding some heavy curtains for at least the windows, but maybe also the two room gaps as well as some acoustic panels around the tv and back wall. My current concern is around the RP 8000f and placement of them and the sub up the front. Given their size and my layout I'm struggling to see just how it's going to work. So I jumped on a floor planner website and modelled the room to help illustrate everything. Bonus everything is to scale! The left channel will pretty much have it's rear port facing out into a small corridor. Will this have much of a negative effect? The right channel is into the corner and it doens't leve any room to optimally place the sub there so I've moved it inwards on the right side. It's just feeling a bit cramped trying to fit everything and I can't help but think I'd be better off with the RP 600M bookshelves, ideally wall mounted allowing the sub to move into the corner properly, but then they'd be happer to be closer to the wall than the 8000F so could go on stands. Thanks very much for any insights or advice you might have. Hope the diagrams help
