  1. Has anyone experienced static with the control knob and intermitent crackling when your listening to the speakes on loud bass with the volume pretty high? For instance when i do a bass test with about 20hz theres alot of crackling, and the control knob crackles as well when i turn the volume up or down,( this is happening only with loud bass at high volume in both my cases other than that everything is fine with the sound if there is not alot of bass. Is it the contacts inside the sub that might need cleaning? Any help would be appreciated thank you.
  2. Thank you Swank. I appreciate the feedback.
  3. Swank I hope your still around If any of you guys or gals can help, I would appreciate it. I have the 5.1 PM, with an Audigy 2 Platinum.I want to listen to my rear speakers in stereo. The only way I can get them to work is with CMSS, im playing back mp3's and cd audio. The rears will work only with cmss and reverb basically. If anyone has a similar setup, I would apprecite the feedback on how to get the rears to function in stereo mode. Although, I CAN get my speakers to work in stereo, with my SBLIVE, and on board sound. System specs AMD XP2100+ Asus a7n8x-dlx Corsair Mem pc3200 Audigy 2 platinum Geforce TI 4600 128Meg Promedia 5.1 PM DD-5.1
  4. Hi Peeps, Swank Thx for the help you have ben supplying me with, its been damn good. You rock. Well I got my Audigy 2, and I think it rocks with gaming all I can say is WOW. The positioning in the gaming is unbelievable. Just need 2 more bits of info to get it to work with my dd5.1. Since you have this card I hope you can help. My main Question is this, Under the settings in AudioHQ-Device Controls then Digital Input. I have 2 options SPDIF BYPASS or AC3 SPDIF IN-DECODE. Can you explain the 2 and which one should I USE? Under the Decoder Tab I set it to Spdif Passthrough. Thx Again
  5. Swank, I got my DD5.1 and my klipsch 5.1's. I love em. I also have the same mobo as you, a7n8xDlx. I am thinking of getting a Audigy 2 for music and gaming. Will I get better sound with this card instead of the nforce audio? What differnces do you notice from the 2 when you listen to music. I think with the audigy the overall noise is louder from what I have read when listening to music. Thx
  6. Well I got my new speaker set, Klipshies 5.1 with DD5.1. Only thing is they were 02-L with green dot. This system is out of this world. The DTS ROCKS. I have a DTS dvd from Billy Idol and it sounds soo nice. I do not have problems with the volume being too low. At 50 the whole room is shaking. I use windows media player 9 for music and PowerDVD for movies. Listening to my music cd's now, sound so crisp, with the dd5.1 and all speakers kickin! WOOT. My soundcard is Nforce 2, which is part of Nforce 2 Motherboards for AMD. And I have no problems with the onboard sound, as some other posters with the same sound card have had problems. Check the level of the master volume. Also look and make sure the wave setting is 3/4 of the way up. Good luck.
  7. What do you mean with the exception of Nforce2 and dd5.1 It wont work? Please update me because that is what I have, and I have the dd5.1 comming in next week. Am I better of geting an Audigy 2? Thanks
  8. Hi Justin, Great site you have at soundwise. I needed some help with some articles you had on setting up the DD5.1. When I click on the links under help, there is nothing that works. Can you please put some of those articles up again. You see I just took the plunge, I got rid of my 2400's today, kinda sad actually cuz they served me really well for over 2 years, anyways I just ordered the Digital Dream 5.1 directly from Klipsch, wooohoo. Thanks again.
  9. A little late in replying, but yes I have the m and they work fine. There are adapters made for the sattelites.
  10. Anyone know what I would need to hook up my 2400's with my XBOX that I just got? Please help thx again! Scouro
  11. WHat should I got for from your experiences. Should I go for the ceiling mounts, wall mounts, or the Speaker stands. What are your experiences, thank you. Im kinda leaning forward for the stands. BTW I just got the CP1 after getting these speakers in 1999, all the crackling is gone, WOOT. This definately should have been a free upgrade. Any suggestions would be great. Scouro
  12. anyone seen this article..concerning the sattelite mods for promedia's....2100 and 4.1. The guy went all out and remodded the inputs of the sattelites...check out the link.. is it worth going through all the troubles to do this? http://www.lanaddict.com/reviews/klipsch/page1.shtml
