  1. While maybe not the perfect application for Klipschorn , they’ll sound fine in your room . I would toe them in to converge at about two to three feet in front of your listening position ,and you’ll be good. Tight to the wall is desirable but as long as they’re in a corner when toed in ,the difference in sound character is difficult to detect . Also you can seal the backs at some point later if desired. The perfect room is hard to come by , but your room provides one good corner , and three quarters of a good corner , on the other side , not so bad . If you like Heresy and Forte , Klipschorn will blow your mind .🤓
  2. After your room is finished out , the advantage of ICF will be very low noise transmission through the walls . From a materials perspective, the room acoustics will depend more on the absorption coefficient of the materials that you use to finish off your room .You can find the coefficient of absorption of common building materials, and with a little math calculate the “Ideal for you” reverberant quantity your looking for . In general more absorption tends to work better than not enough , this is true in average home sized rooms .
  3. Yikes , that’s Like gutting out a Klipsch Lascala and rebuilding it as an electrostatic . Not for me 🤓
  4. The new gas cars aren’t that special , are they ? Heck most are four cylinder SUV’s , no great loss if those went electric, I’d sure welcome it . The gas cars worthy of saving are the ones from the sixties, with big blocks and such . If we don’t mess with those we’re good. Who cares what’s under the hood of an SUV anyway ? Don’t worry so much . 🤓
  5. Ok , have a good one 🤓
  6. You stick with your gut feelings on the subject , and I’ll go with my engineering background. BTW the trees are burning at an alarming rate.
  7. Should mankind increase its efforts to reduce air pollution ? , Of course , but unfortunately many appear to disagree with reduction efforts ,🤷 why should they worry , the smoke just disappears doesn’t it ,it’s a big planet ,and once it clears everything is fine right ? And maybe there’s no limit to the amount of air pollution that can be emitted . It seems to me that many people see air pollution as not a problem , after all they never offer a solution to reduce it , they only seem to offer criticism and barriers to those interested in mitigating the problem. I think the battery powered mower is a fine idea .
  8. Yes , I agree , traditional car enthusiasts may not be impressed 🤓
  9. The phrase “ the future is now “ refers to advanced and cutting edge technologies that are available right now . Today’s ev’s are definitely ready for prime time , drive one you’ll be amazed.
  10. Actually for the time being , 40 percent of the power produced to run an electric car comes from non fossil fuel sources. This advantage allows us to “pollute less as we go “. Generally you will find that the same people that are against electric vehicles are also opposed to alternative energy sources , wind and solar for example , they evidently believe that the answer to our growing energy needs is the burning of even more fossil fuel , coal , petroleum ,natural gas . But , things are changing and the electrification of auto transportation will ultimately temper the demand for petroleum and other fossil fuels . A huge advantage of electric cars that largely goes unnoticed is the inherent flexibility that electricity provides , electric vehicles can be powered by any fuel source from petroleum to nuclear ,solar ,hydroelectric or anything that may be used to produce electricity in the future , its irrelevant to the car how the electricity was produced .I’m not sure why this could possibly be such a bad thing . These changes won’t happen overnight , there will be time for the required infrastructure changes , and the technology will continue to develop and improve . We may even find that a complete transition to electric may not be practical 🤷, nothing is cast in stone , but a workable system will emerge. The future is now.
  11. It’s hard to fight progress . The battery powered stuff has improved tremendously .Yea I love my gas stuff, but battery powered equipment can definitely be the way to go in many situations . It’s not just a matter of being more environmentally friendly , which they are , (since only about 60 percent of generated electricity comes from fossil fuels ) Much of the time battery powered is just the best tool for the job , and that’s the real reason why people buy them . Many home owners just don’t want to fool around with gas engines ,deal with the maintenance , they may have trouble starting them , can’t fix them , or don’t want to . They want to grab and go , get the job done , then sit back and listen to the music from their Klipsch speakers 🤓
  12. No problem, say 10 Hail Marys and 5 our Fathers .
  13. Without two good corners I would recommend going with Lascala . Klipschorn is a lot harder to place in a room ,and without two good corners why force it ? Lascala offers much more flexibility without giving up much . Klipschorn does play to a lower frequency, but they also will benefit from a good subwoofer system . Klipschorn in a good room will sound fantastic and when fitted into the corner ,it will reward you with a very impressive expansive sound quality. In a less than perfect room , problems will arise , for example corners that are too far apart will compromise the center image , or if too close together the squawker convergence point may be way off , 🤷I built a room to fit my Khorns and have no regrets ,but for most people flexibility is very important or required 🤓
  14. The Lascala bass horn offers outstanding clarity , impact ,and immediacy ,these impressive qualities are what set Lascala bass apart from even the best bass reflex / direct radiator speakers. Fully horn loaded is tough to beat .
  15. Cornwall vs Lascala . No one has addressed the BAF factor , ( bad a-s factor ) the unmistakable cool quality that Lascala , Klipschorn , and Jubilee bring to the table , how much is this worth? , one look and listen from friends and neighbors will instantly transform you into a rock star and hero . Not a bad deal in my opinion🤓
  16. Yes , I also enjoy his comments , he’s got a pretty good sense of humor also🤓stick around geezin’
  17. I grew up with the notion that a great amplifier should reproduce the audio signal faithfully, and that distortion including harmonic distortion should be reduced as much as possible . In this case the secret to amplifier perfection seems to be the addition of pleasant sounding second and third order harmonic distortions . I’m sure that many hard core audiophiles wouldn’t be interested in this type of signal manipulation , regardless of any perceived “improvement ” in sound quality. Two different schools of thought ,ultimately it’s audio satisfaction that matters most in my opinion .
  18. In audio , high quality is synonymous with high performance . High performance audio doesn’t necessarily require a huge expense , particularly when it comes to the electronics section . As mentioned above, the law of diminishing returns is at play here big time ,and unfortunately any “improvement“can be very difficult to quantify . If looking to keep costs down, buy the best Klipsch you can afford , and keep your electronics away from overly critical prying eyes . 🤓
  19. It works, and it looks sweet , maybe not for every situation though 🤓
  20. It can be tough to fit in a Lascala center . But it’s worth the trouble . Front projection with a transparent screen is a good solution , as is a Lascala mounted above the TV upside down and tilted towards the listeners .This is a great looking setup . If room isn’t an issue then definitely go Lascala , you’ll never regret it .
  21. Anything but Lascala would be a downgrade, as the center is arguably the most important and prominent front stage speaker. Good luck.
  22. “Forte II great condition stock” or stock Cornwalls , look at those . My advice is that if you like the Klipsch heritage sound ,Keep them stock . Lots of backyard mechanics and tinkerers believe they can improve the sound of these already great sounding speakers , but be careful , it’s much much easier to degrade rather than improve on their sound , I’ve listened to my share of “upgraded” / modified speakers that left me disappointed and shaking my head . 🤷‍♂️
  23. I didn’t realize the scale of it , there’s also a bunch of videos showing it’s collapse 🤓
  24. Lascala / Klipschorn are the Bionic Men of loudspeakers , better , stronger, faster . 🤓

    Knee Replacement

Also , my advice is that if it’s not bothering you too much , you may be able to hold off for awhile , you’ll know when it’s time to get it done . For example , does it hurt at rest ? If not , that’s a very good thing . How much pain when walking ? Is your knee stable? Does it affect your gait? I know a few people that had the surgery and were not happy with the results, something to consider.🤓
