  1. As I move back to Klipsch it will be a very slow process as there is a plaguing issue being resolved through the courts. So, The rockets money goes towards the Klipsch replacements and the other liquidated equipment goes to a lawyer. I currently have two Parasound Halo amps on Audiogon. A52 listing at $1400 http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?ampsmult&1145976461&item A23 listing at $600 http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?ampstran&1145975642&item Please PM me if there are any questions about the amps. Scott
  2. Hi Dave, Look in my last reply to you, there is a very subtle hint on the ebay seller. Looks like you and I have the same exact pioneer stuff. I saw the 79ai in action. better sound comparable picture picture compared to the 59ai. Definitely not worth the upgrade from the 59. I still like my 47ai since it plays all regions and my plasma displays PAL and NTSC. If you have a PDA the crack is easy. Scott
  3. I never did consider a pair of RC7s, their cost is very close to what a pair of RF7s would. If the RB75s dont work out as mains I know they make a great surround. Sent you an email at work. Scott
  4. Thanks Jay, I really did not think I would win with a $700 bid. It would have been nice but I want to give the RB75s a chance before I rethink the massive RF7. You never know what may happen. I am about to purchase a pair of RB75. If they meet my needs for the front I will purchase a second pair for surrounds. If they don't meet my needs then the RF7s will definitely be reconsidered. Scott
  5. damn how sad. RIP don and thanks for the laughs
  6. Hi Dave thank you for the information. Some times it is difficult to find what you want but some places have pro sound at a discount. I am glad to hear you had a good experience. Hi Everyone, Reflecting back I do recall the RB75s sounded great but nothing like the RF7s. Having a very strong 100hz and below the low end is pretty much covered. The RB75s are a fantastic alternative for those that do not have the room for the floor stands. It is unfortunate that this particular speaker got lost in the mix with the introduction of the 5 series speakers. Sure I would love to have the RF7s again but I like the openess the bookself gives the front of my room and the sound they provide. The RB75s are the corvette coupe while the the RF7 is the Z06. Thanks again Scott
  7. Looking back I did love my RF7s but they were too much for my smallish HT. The RF7s overwhelmed the listening area which took away surrounds. I have tried several bookshelfs in the last month. The Onix Rocket 250's, the SVS SBS and some B2s. having had the Rocket 750s, no comments please, I have to say the little 250s put the 750's to shame. The SVS SBS are clear, crisp and clean sounding and amazing at the price point and the size. The Klipsch sound very good as well but I can't seem to bring myself to not have the reference line as I know how the sound and how much I enjoyed them before. I am having a heck of a time finding the RB75s but the search goes on. Scott
  8. How do you turn your dishwasher into a snow thrower? hand her a shovel Why do Brides where white? Because all appliances should match. Oh yeah I slept on the couch for a couple of nights.
  9. Hi Bob Now this is what I have been missing for the last 1.5 years, great down to earth info with no fluff. Please don't get me wrong about the RF7s. I loved the RF7s, RS7s , and RC7 along witht he RB75s. My friends told me I as an @ss for dumping the klipsch. Ok so they were right. You have no idea how much I am looking forward to having Klipsch back into my HT. I was so disgusted with the speakers I replaced my klipsch with that I did not fire up my HT for a period of 16months. Scott
  10. Hi I guess there are a couple ways to look at this situation. My experience is similar to your questions. I have a smallish HT and at one time I had RF7s in there. Yes they were too big for the room. then I tried RB75 and discovered that hmm maybe bookshelfs are an alternative way to go. Perhaps the B3 synergy bookshelf would serve you purposes. The money you save you from such a purchase could possibly be put towards an RSW12 sub. The trade off of course will be the db. I think you would like the performance of the B3 over the quintets. Scott
  11. :Do you ever experience what I'm experiencing?" Hmmmm, let's see, yes I have in two situations, one is not appropriate for the forum and the other is when I say I promise my wife I am going to do something I do not. Now back to the speakers issue. Do you have a particular movie/scene we can reference? One of the reasons why I intially sold off my RF7s was because of the brightness. your situation maybe characteristic of the horn itself. Several things you can check, ensure such settings like in the pioneer sets called midnight where they take sounds in the background and bring them forward are off. Also, what I found was some movies have a +4 in the dialoge during playback. When I had my Klipsch I set the treble down a couple of notches. if you have an calibration program you can reduce the levels around 1 to 4 Khz. I found that took a little bit of the edge off. I hope this was useful. Scott
  12. Hi Carl, Thank you for the welcome back and kind words. Your memory serves you very well. After reading a few reviews the smaller horn has given some reviewers of a smoother speaker in the higher regions. The rockets were not as detailed as I was hoping. But then again the RF7s were on the opposite end of the spectrum. Giving up some of the edge, some, may not be such a bad thing and as you mentioned the 81 might be exactly what I am looking for. The vinyl coating is acceptable but not preferable. Thank you Scott
  13. Hi Everyone, Well after my moment of insanity, I have decided to ditch the Rockets and move back into a Klipsch set up. Yes I am kicking myself and I know some of the great people here will probably say, we told you so. Yes You did. So humbly I ask what is the difference between the RB75 and 81s. Thanks Scott

He told me to never invest in plasma, most of the time when a part fails part of the screen will burn, once that happens the burn doesnt go away and a replacement screen costs as much as a new one. DLP is definately more durable. At least my brother who spends hours a day doing repair work says so.---------------- Your brother, huh? I guess he sees a whole lot of Plasmas come in for repair on a daily basis? Sounds like a guy I'd like to get all of my advice from. ---------------- That is too funny. I guess what it comes down to is what the TV is going to be used for. I absolutely love my plasma. some friends have DLP and they look great but I prefer the plasma presentation. The burn in issue with plasmas, yep it is known that it can happen. Many of the manufacturers have features to prevent/limit its affect. If I watch a movie that is 2.33 to 1 I simply run the wiper a few times. For gaming, there hasn't been an issue with burn in. if you do your shopping you can find some good deals on all TV formats.
  15. I would expect that the RW12 will sound "tighter" and have more punch. More punch because of its emphaziz on the 45 to 60Hz range. blurb pulled from another forum. The SvS will dig a whole lot deeper and not sound as "tight". Blurb pulled from another forum. The PB10 will roll off at around 17 Hz where the RW will roll off in the high 30's. Overall the SvS will have a flatter responce from 17 to 85 hz. Having the PB10 it is quite impressive for the money. It does dig deep and it does push out the bass. Some might prefer the simulated wookd finish of the RW. Depending on the music you might prefer the RW but if you want ot play Blue Man group, jazz, classical and some Norah Jones or Diana Krall the SvS will really shine. For HT the SvS whould out perfrom the RW. I may be a little biased to SvS but the PB10 is a real perfromend fo under $500
  16. Scooter, I serious thought the system price tag was due to its manufacturing in the states. Interesting thread over there.
  17. Dean That does look a little "odd" here is the audiogon listing for $1400 obo http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?spkrfull&1113449734

  19. To me the Pats laligagged around the field and simply waited for Philly to make mistakes and the capitalize on them. McNabb looked a little confused against the Pats defense.
  20. Quote "Microsoft wants the user to input the product code on something they are GIVING AWAY??? Go figure. They are such 500lb gorillas. " Yahoo, Google, lavasoft and other giving similar software away have also asked for feddback regarding the GUI and functionality. Does that make them 5 pound chimps?
  21. AS I am moving from teh pioneer 49txi to a pre/pro I am find out that av receivers have more features and seem to support the latest in technologies more so than a pre/pro. Items include, firewire, usb, hdmi video switching, and the latest formats. Digging around at various units the av receivers may give up a little in amp quality but if there are certain features you are looking for it will most likely be affordable in the av rcvr units.
  22. Griff, I know you and I have debated this back and forth. But now it is 12000 hours. What generation sets were tested? thanks Scott
