  1. Come on Klipsch, don't keep us waiting any longer. Give us a guideline of when all this goodness will be available. 😇
  2. I'm curious about so much that's coming up. I can't wait until some more official information about the new subs and La Scala upgrade finally comes out.
  3. This is exactly my experience with more expensive "better" DACs as well. I couldn't hear any difference myself, no matter how much I wanted to hear it.
  4. But why would you need to saw the La Scala in half? You just need to remove the bottom and then place that base with bass ports on the bottom, right? As I understand it, this is a mod that can easily be reversed.
  5. That's definitely true. And I'm also eagerly waiting for them to be released. But we have no idea what the asking price will be. And the expectations are that they won't be particularly cheap 😏. Perhaps for some, this port mod could then be a good alternative.
  6. Am I the only one who finds the explanation above insanely interesting but really doesn't understand a thing about it? 😅
  7. @MmurgDe foto's zien er veelbelovend uit. Ik ben erg benieuwd naar de ervaringen met de Heritage sub en alle details over de LaScala. Ik ben erg geïnteresseerd in beide.
  8. I don't know if my experience is the right one to use, but I still want to share it. I own the AL5 myself and, like you, was hesitant about acquiring someone else's AK6. I went to listen to his speakers twice, and both times I had the same experience. I found the AK6 to have a much tamer, maybe even somewhat dull, sound. The AL5, as it sounds in my home, has much more dynamics and punch. Also, I found the placement at my home better than at his. I'm not sure if this is due to the speakers, the setup, or the acoustics, but this is what I noticed. The bass went a little deeper, but I didn't find the difference, with the tracks I listened to, noticeably large. If I had to describe it briefly, I would say the AL5 (as I know it) is dynamic and lively, while the AK6 (as it sounded there) is more laid-back and grander. Note: he had his Khorns placed against the long wall, not in the corners. And this person likes a laid-back sound. It is likely that he has tailored his setup to this preference. I personally prefer a dynamic and lively sound. By the way, this person is in a position to listen to different Khorns daily, which are placed well in the corners, and according to him, the audible difference between the set tightly placed in the corners and his set is minimal.
  9. Then I was mistaken, I thought I had read somewhere that with this meeting the Heritage sub was shown and discussed again.
  10. I thought I read somewhere some time ago that the Heritage subwoofers would also be discussed or shown here. Is this correct or did I remember this incorrectly?
  11. Such amazing speakers and then to tightly integrate them into a large wall unit without angling them even a bit, and then placing a big desk right in front of the speakers? Such speakers deserve better.
  12. Can I perhaps make a very strange suggestion? Since it has been suggested a few times now that it might be your home's power grid causing the issue, if your neighbors live right next to you (such as in an apartment or townhouse), could you use an extension cord to borrow power from them to see if the hum disappears?
  13. I had already mentioned it to you, but I'll mention it here as well. Both my Decware Zen triode from 2014 and my Decware Taboo III were completely silent on my AL5. These two amplifiers belong to the group of the quietest tube amplifiers I've ever had.
  14. Thank you for the responses. I'll follow the advice and purchase an affordable cable to test if there's any noticeable difference with this length. From what I gather from the comments, the chances are very slim that this will result in any noticeable loss in quality.
  15. Probably this question will yield answers that are diametrically opposed. But I still hope it can lead me to a choice.😇 My situation is as follows. My AL5 speakers were set up against the long wall in the width direction. My audio set neatly positioned between the speakers and connected with speaker cables (Audioquest 5). For several reasons (including an acoustic issue), I have now set up my speakers lengthwise as a test. This resulted in some very positive improvements to the sound. Therefore, I am strongly considering leaving this setup like this, but it will require a drastic investment, such as purchasing different furniture and speaker cables. Because to make this work, I can no longer place my audio set between the speakers and am forced to leave it in the old position, requiring speaker cables of 8m length now. My problem is that I have no idea if increasing from 3m length to 8m length will result in audible quality loss. The only way to test this is to try it myself, but it will be a quite expensive test since I cannot return the cables if it turns out to be disappointing. What is your experience, does 8m length cause a loss in the audio signal? And if this shouldn't be a problem, what values should I consider when choosing the cable? For example, is 2.1mm per conductor sufficient?
  16. I doubt if you can only purchase one. On the websites where they are offered, the price per piece is mentioned, but it also states a minimum order of two pieces.
  17. You should actually go there and listen again. They've changed the space and improved both the acoustics and the speaker setup. Whether bigger is always better, I doubt. But the Jubilee does sound noticeably better than the AL5.
  18. @Maggie If you've already listened to the Jubilee, it's pointless to then listen to the La Scala 😄
  19. Yes, that's correct, that was them. And yes, I really love the sound of the AL5!! Unfortunately, I have a little issue around 100Hz-150Hz which makes the speaker less enjoyable. But I'm working on it and I assume this will be resolved. Not counting this little issue, I am very happy with these speakers. So I presume you are Dutch? 😉
  20. Can you name a specific song where you can clearly hear that resonance? If possible, provide the title along with the timestamp when the resonance is noticeable. I'm very curious to know if I would hear exactly the same thing that is causing issues for me.
  21. @GabeS read my post about my experience with the distortion / lascala. Maybe you have the same problem like me. It is highly likely that you hear a thickening around the 100Hz-170Hz range. An issue where one claims it is inherent to the La Scala, and another insists it stems from other factors but definitely not the La Scala. Personally, I believe both play a role. Partly, it's the La Scala's nature to accentuate this range, and partly, it's influenced by factors like room acoustics (in my case, at least). I'm still figuring out how to address this. For instance, I've rotated my living room 90 degrees, positioning the speakers lengthwise, which seems to partially alleviate the issue but not entirely. The remaining part, with this setup, appears even more pronounced with this setup. The challenge is that once you become bothered by this resonance/thickening (or whatever you want to call it), you start hearing it more clearly over time. It's tricky; I genuinely love the speakers, but this is becoming quite bothersome. I'm curious if you recognize your issue in what I describe in my topic.
