I just picked up a new pair of R-51m for the office, driven by a vintage Sansui AU-7900 integrated amp (85 watts/ch) along with an ADC Sound Shaper Mk II EQ. I also wired up two Realistic Minimus using the "Hafner setup" (both positives going to each). My question is, if I use the Tidal Windows app, join Tidal premium, hookup a DAC between the laptop and amp, would I be able to appreciate the better harmonics on the R-51m's? FYI - I did listen to 24/192 (MQA) in a store via an Arcam ST-60 streamer, good marantz amp, and KEF-R3's, and it was amazing, but I don't think the R-51m would allow one to appreciate the sound the same as e.g. Heresy IV's or KEF-R3's. I plan on getting Heresy-IV's for the living room in a short while.
